@Yoshi3 Symphonia 2 is worse than Xillia 2. Symphonia is not that bad, I think, but it's just too different from Symphonia, they just don't seem to be in the same universe. Xillia 2 have a great battle system, but the good part of the story start basically only after 75% of the game. After that is pretty great, but it's not that much in the end.
@the_beaver Believe me, not everyone says it's the best since it's not. Vesperia, The Abyss, Symphonia, Graces, Phantasia and Xillia are better in map design, battle system, pacing and story. Berseria have a great cast of characters (among the best, yes) and a good story, but maps are just too big for the sake of being big (not as much as Zestiria, but still too big), pacing is pretty bad, and battle system is a mess (still fun at some point, but too chaotic). A good entry, but it's not the best, not even close.
@BrokenCiv yeah, because they didn't make the same for Xenoblade 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Breath of the Wild... or Sonic Racing Crosswords, Borderlands 4, Vampire the Masquerade 2, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws...
@the_beaver About Mario Party maybe is because the Switch 2 edition is somewhat a disappointment: some of the new modes are better with the optional camera, and the main mode is not updated (basically is the same resolution of the original, only Jamboree TV is 1440p docked/1080p portable).
I really can't see this a Switch (or Switch 2) problem when the game have issues even on PS5. And lately, LOTS of games have performance (and others) problems not only on Nintendo consoles. Lately Metal Gear Solid Delta, Monster Hunter Wilds, Oblivion Remastered, Wuchang, Mafia Terra Madre... It's a problem on the entire videogame industries...
@BaldB3lper78 But even Cyberpunk IS an inferior port of a current-gen title (half resolution, half framerate). But if Cyberpunk level of port is ok for you, at that level Swicth 2 already have lots of ports: Split Fiction, Kunitsu Gami, Civilization VII, No Man's Sky, even the Star Wars Outlaws port seems great from the first gameplay online (of course even there half resolution, half framerate, and it's an openworld, raytracing forced game). Of course is this level of port is not enough for you (and if that's the case, then even Cyberpunk should not), then I think you expected too much from Switch 2. I mean, it's still big as a tablet that consume 10W while PS5 and Xbox Series are bigger than 3 WiiU stuck together, costs more and consume 10 times more.
@the_beaver Yes, I don't think Okami 2 will be an AAA, but still as of now we don't know nothing about it. And yes, it's true that Village and 4Re were cross-gen, but as I said Requiem, from what we already saw, don't seem too demanding (it's not an open world like Dragon Dogma 2), it's "better" than Village in terms of graphics, but then again, with some compromise I think it could run on Switch 2 without many problems (I mean, if on PS5/Series is 60fps/1440p, it should be easy to make it run 30fps/1080p on Switch 2)
@the_beaver we don't know if Switch 2 is not able to run it tough. I mean, from what we have seen about the game, it doen't seems that much different from Village or RE4 Remake in terms of what happens on screen, graphic fidelty and so on. Meanwhile you listed Dragon's Dogma 2, a game that run really poorly on both PS5 and Series X (even on PC), so THAT is a game I don't expect on Switch 2, or even Okami 2 that we know nothing about, it could even be bigger than Monster Hunter Wilds as far as we know (I don't think so, but we just don't know at the moment). I think it will be much easier to port Requiem than DD2. But then yes, I hope they will bring all of the other games of the previous generation.
@The_Nintendo_Pedant really can't understand why you can't just ignore remake/remastered and DLC and just enjoy new games then. It's not like they are missing.
@The_Nintendo_Pedant It's a DLC, it's not that they never done those before. Of course they took the opportunity to improve framerate and resolution too. It's not like they don't make new games anymore (Bananza, MK World, Prime 4, Splatoon Riders, Kirby Air Riders and so on) or they never done re-release (remember on GBA they released again every 2D Mario and Donkey Kong? Or every WiiU game on Switch?)
We just don't even know how they used AI. Maybe they used AI just to do it faster, we don't know if they fired people to let AI do it. For me is Day 1.
Strangely enough, Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle is 60fps on Switch 2, while 30 fps on Switch. Even No More Heroes 3 see a good bump. And yes, play Bakeru, is great!
@-wc- no it's not. It's more like comparing the gba with the snes. It's comparing a new portable device with an old home device. It's not impressive that a today console can run a game better than an old console, it's impressive that a today portable console can run a game better than an old console. There's a difference.
@Rykdrew well, evey MK from DS to 8 (the original 8, on WiiU and without DLCs) had 32 tracks. Difference is that here there are all the intersections between the different tracks, that are basically additional mini-tracks (maybe somewhat straight but still with hazards, peculiar themes and so on)
@jojobar this is not unpolished... at all. Level design of the three levels in the demo is good and controls are great, two fundamental aspects in a 3D platformer. I don't think there are too many 3D platformers nowadays. Really, there are not that many (not many as metroidvanias for example), especially good ones, and this seems pretty promising.
@LavenderShroud they revived Famicom Detective Club, Metroid, Pokemon Snap, Clubhouse games and, even just with remakes, Another Code, Advance Wars and the original Mario vs Donkey Kong! Everyone wants more, me too of course, but they did something this gen (there are more then 30 different Nintendo franchices on Switch, not counting spin offs!)
I think too many are focusing on the graphics. What I see from this video is that they improved the level design adding some sort of collectibles connecting the interesting areas, making some puzzles better and easier to understand, removing the obligation to use the "magic meter" to use the rolling dash... I mean, they clearly understand the critics and aim to do a better game (I mean, the worlds will still stay too big, but that's a problem they can solve on a sequel)
@luke88 now that you mention it, it really could be that they planned to make a DLC (free or not) with 2 boards and something like 20ish minigames for Superstars but Nintendo tought it would be better to just wait and added to its sequel to make it bigger.
Already got it, and it's great! Colorful, good gameplay, quite varied, have a catchy soundtrack, with lots of japanese intresting (and funny) trivia! I can't recommend it enough!
@Mauzuri about the bosses, that's true, especially in the second half of the game. But there is sone good musics, and the level design is actually good. Not Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) or Mania good, but still fun and varied enough. So I think it's a good game... until you finish the main story. Let's just say that after that you'll unlock a mode that is pretty pretty bad (awful level design and even worse bosses than the main game).
I think that the reason is shorter than the DK one in the first game, is because that was the only DLC (other than the extra challenges), but this time there are two (other than the extra challenges that this time is the tower of doom)
@Namco but it's just a bonus update, after all. Even Iceborn got Arch tempered Velkana as the last monster. And Sunbreak is still the 2nd game (first being GU, obviously) in the franchise wich has the highest number of monsters (even without counting variants, sub and rate species).
@GamingFan4Lyf but on ps5 ps4 games runs better: faster loading, more stable framerate, faster texture loading... as you said, not improvement to frame rate (30 to 60) or resolution, but it does use its power to make ps4 games automatically runs a little bit better.
@EVIL-C and considering Nintendo sells Zelda Skyward Sword that is basically a port with some (great) qol improvements for 60$, I think 30$ each for these two remade from scratch games with online added and dubbed in more than two languages is a good price.
Basically last year they published only great titles (Xeno, Kirby, Arceus, Triangle, Splatoon, Bayo, LiveaLive...). The only 3 exception are Scarlet/Violet (that are broken), Mario Strikers (that is a GOOD game, only withouth enough contents) and Switch Sports (good too, but people and reviewer thought it would have been the new Wii Sport Resort instead of the new Wii Sport).
Of course. The demo was fun, the style is great, the atmoshpere remember me the Trine series (maybe is the presence of a narrator, maybe the music... maybe both). I don't really think it's not worth full price (but I still think they should have priced a little lower the same)
@sanderev the point is: Nintendo didn't make a new Advance Wars in ages, and now after all these years they only make a remake, so being able to play a "new game in the series that is not necessarily a new game in the series" to me sounds good.
@ZonaiResearcher maybe, yes, but it's still a remastered were basically graphics is the only thing they remade (and a new control scheme and some extra stuff to unlock), while in Bayonetta everything is new, made from scratch. You made an example comparing two movies were they made everything from scratch, between Metroid and Bayonetta is different, since for the first they only had to make one thing, for the latter basically everything.
@ZonaiResearcher not necessarily. This game is full dubbed, for example, while Metroid not only only have very few dubbed dialogs, but there aren't newly recorded dialog in the remastered. Or the music that is not rearranged, dialogs are not rewritten and so on. Graphics is not the only thing that make a game to cost
I don't understand the critics about the duration. Bayonetta 2 was 8 hours long (no, not howlongtobeat time, just my personal experience XD). Yes, it was more replayable, bit still. Of course they should have priced it 50/40€ even just because they should have known that lots of people would have said that "seems like an indie", but still...
