I don't understand the critics about the duration. Bayonetta 2 was 8 hours long (no, not howlongtobeat time, just my personal experience XD). Yes, it was more replayable, bit still. Of course they should have priced it 50/40€ even just because they should have known that lots of people would have said that "seems like an indie", but still...
@Magician uhm, not really. Most of these games are multiplatform and on the official site we could actually see that the publisher will be Level 5 themself. Probably we have to thank Nintendo for Layton and Fantasy Life since those are exclusive.
@Munchlax haha, true, I really wanted Delfino Square (...and Airship fortress ) Thinking about it, even Mario Kart Wii had too many Mario Circuit (and there were "only" 32 tracks!)
@Toads-Friend quickly? Has been 5 years from the first one 😅. Nah, it sold poirly because ubisoft games tend to drop pretty fast in price. You could get the first one for 15€ just after a year.
@nocdaes well, there were still 4 new games this week, so sales are split (I know they are pretty different games, but there still is lots of people who like at least two of those games and had to decide wich to buy). And is still a (great) remastered, so it's still impressive.
@Anti-Matter the problem is that is not only performance issue (that's a switch version problem, yes), but the game is just... bad. I remember I tried the demo (on PC) and controls were awful (and those are really important in a platform), the boss battle was boring and the level I played, well, not too bad but nothing special. I hoped it could improve (that demo is pretty old), but unfortunately it seems it's just a mess.
They really made a great job. Aside from the new copy abilities, new minigames and epilogue, you can clearly see from this video some of the new little things they added, like new animations for swimming at 360° or entering the exit level doors. They added new animations for the super copy abilities (on Wii they are all the same), they added new moves for some abilities (taken from Triple Deluxe and subsequent titles), dodge, taunts like in Forgotten Land, and lots of other little new things to make the game "newer". This is clearly NOT lazy, at all.
@Coalescence well yes, but it's only in english. I think that a great pro of this remastered is that is translated into other 4 languages. And have Radical Dreamers too, still in 5 languages.
@Ralizah it's unlikely. In Breath of the Wild you could save into the DLC's dungeon and close the game. What would happen if you want to load the game but your subsciption to the NSO ended? This problem doesn't exist for the Splatoon, AC and Mario Kart dlcs, since you cannot save "into them", but you will always have to select them every start up.
@Spookles I really can't agree on this. Not only this year will actually see the release of a new Pikmin and a new Metroid, but, while it's true lately we got too many Pokemon and Kirby (only one main Fire Emblem and a Warrior since 2019), Nintendo even realeased the last two years a new Xenoblade, Splatoon, Switch Sports, Famicom Detective Club, Game Builder Garage, Metroid, Warioware... lots of different IPs.
How could a year with Xeno 3 (masterpiece), Bayonetta 3 (finally!), Splatoon 3 (yeah, too similar to 2, but I loved the story mode), Kirby and the forgotten Land (the best Kirby? No, but still awesome), Mario Rabbids 2 (incredibly funny), Pokemon Arceus (graphically not impressive, but pretty engaging and different) and multiplatforms like TMNT Shredder Revenge, Persona 5, Monster Hunter Sunbreak, Crisis Core, Triangle Strategy and so on be a bad year?!
@Zach777 @Sisilly_G As far as I undertand, if you do not have a subscription, you can still have the items because the game will make you play against CPU if you try to do online without a subscription, still making points.
@boxyguy well yeah, I agree on that. Tackels, gears, fused stadiums are something that make the game different from the previous ones, but not necessarily better. I Iike them yes, as the animations, rhe game is still a lot of fun, but they could have made something more.
Everyone wants other modes telling how the other two games have more when in reality the first one had the same as this but without the online and the Wii one only had a mission mode. I'm the first one who wants more modes, but the other installments had the same amount. Chargers was better exactly because had more characters and stadiums (with hazards).
@sixrings I wouldn't put Golf and this on the same level. Golf's 3 updates came in like 4 months and a half, and each of them added way more than Striker's one. The first a character, a course (that is more than a soccer stadium) and ranked online. The second 2 characters, 2 courses and more difficilty options for CPUs and the third one other 2 characters, 2 courses and 2 new modes. On top of that, while still a little bit barebones, Golf had more single player content on lunch.
@NinjaNicky only that they were not lack. At least, not Sony with Horizon and Ragnarock both better than Stray, and definitely not Nintendo with Kirby, Xenoblade 3, Splatoon 3, Mario Rabbids, Bayonetta 3, Triangle Strategy and Sunbreak all better than Arceus (wich I still liked a lot).
You can't enter buildings, you train too much with lets go mechanic (needed for TMs and to evolve some pkmns), trainers don't change level to be on par with you, so the open world is meaningless, you are basically forced to do things in the order they decided, you can't turn off animations in battle... bugs and glitches are the last of the problems, if you ask me.
@Rayquaza2510 well, I'm the first who would like new/returning monsters more, but what I meant is that Iceborn updates were better just because it need to be, since before any update had less variety than sunbreak (always without updates). Like, Sunbreak have already a great variety of monsters (it even have more monsters classes), while Iceborn did not, and needed something like Rajang, who added a monster of a class that didn't have yet (while Sunbreak couldnt since already have all of them).
I don't understand the complaint that much. Iceborn had even new monsters and not only sub/rare because it need them! Iceborn have 48 unique monsters, while Sunbreak have 50, so, even without adding new/returning/not sub monsters, it already have more than Iceborn, while IB without updates only had 44. So every sub addition (and when they are so different like Violet Mizutsune, I don't really see a problem) is a plus. That said, leaks clearly confirm at least a couple if new/returning/not sub monsters (as the updated roadmap).
A sinole 30fps porting at 50€, while Vesperia was the definitive edition, with new contents for europeans and americans, so new dubbed dialogs, new translations (the original was only in english, the remastered had 4 new languages, while Symphonia had already the same translation this remastered have), always at 50€. Not the best approach, they could at least add Dawn of the New World inside (not the most favourite sequel, but still...)
@Fizza agree, it's a pretty game after all, and we need Timmy in this (or a sequel). And I even wish Disney will make something similar, maybe with their animated series characters (like the one you and Not_Soos have on the avatar) opposed to the overused pixar and live action ones (or at least both)
@Rayquaza2510 as far as I would be the First ti prefer a new or a returning Monster, Sunbreak already have more Monsters that are not sub/rare/variante comparse to Iceborn. Sunbreak have 50 Monsters + 20 variants, Iceborn 48 Monsters + 23 variants. So, even if as I said new Monsters would be better, variants are just a plus. (By the way, some leaks apparently tells us there will be returning non-sub too)
I'm loving it, as I loved every other game in the franchise. Yes, Escape was too much stupid (and hasmd even other issues), but Curse and Tales are great as much as the originals. Return seems to be the same.
@Snatcher basically every comedic manga published in coro coro based on video games have that artstyle, like for Crash, Ratchet e Clank, even Kirby. For Zelda the author just change her style depending on the videogame she have to adapt (and it's not a comedic manga, while still full of silly jokes)
@MitchaK that's the point. Epinas already was fire type, just like Rakna, Rathian, Rathalos and Bazel was blast. They could have made a thunder rakna or a poison alm if they wanted. Not complaining too much anyway, the base game didn't have too many fire type, and the roster is among my favorite without a doubt.
@Munchlax they could (and should) have update Splatoon 2 a little bit more, that's true. But adding too much could be counterproductive. You only have 2 stage at a time, and there are already lots of stages. Imagine adding more. How much I have to wait until I can play in a specific stage? The new moves the inkling can do are another thing that would have been too difficult to implement directly in 2 trough an update, just like the new multiplayer infrastructure. New weapons maybe would have been the easiest thing to add after some adjustments. But having a 3rd (and then 4th) story into a single game? It would be good, but probably too much for the type of game this is. And is nice to change the hub after 5 years. Yeah, I think there's enough for a new game, and most of these things would have been to difficult to implement into the game without changing too much its core or adding too much to it.
@Anti-Matter there were in Black and White on DS, but unfortunately they never reused that type of battle again (except of course for Black 2 and White 2)
The main difference is that between the others there were new 2D titles (and sometimes spin off and remakes), this time only spin offs and remakes. I want a new 2D Zelda
I mean, it is remade from the ground up, buuuut... levels are still pretty small with not as many details as newer games. It could easily run at solid 60fps, not even reaching a solid 30fps it really means they don't care at all...
Zero mission. Was a period I wanted to try as many nintendo ips as possible (didn't play many at the time), so knowing ZM was a remake of the first one, I tried that without even thinking. And I liked it a lot!
Alpine Pass uh? It really seems they don't want underwater sections in this DLC. Would have preferred Wario shipyard. And even if I'm happy for Peach garden, it means that there'll only be one between Luigis Mansion, Airship fortress and Delfino Square.
@nocdaes that's not true. Every 64 course has reappeared in a Mario Kart except for Wario Staduim Luigi Raceaway in 7 Moo Moo Farm on DS Koopa Troopa Beach on 7 (and Tour) Frappe Snowland on DS (and Tour) Mario Raceway on Wii Sherbet Land on Wii Bowser's Castle on Wii Jungle Parkway on Wii Banshee Boardwalk on DS
@VancouverVelocityFan well, I wouldn't complain of course, they are basically new tracks after all, and if they are good as ninja hideway, then the more the better.
@vio yeah, most people just take for granted that the ??? are the non-city tour tracks, but there are 6 of them (apart from Ninja Hodway and the new one). They released 3 in Tour in 3 years, I don't see them releasing other 6 original non-city courses in the next year and a half. 2, 3, maybe 4... but 6 are just too much. Probably some of them really are 64 or 7 corses.
@Ade117 it's a really good selection, I'll admit, but instead of Rock Rock Mountain from 7,I would prefer something like Wario Shypyard or Rosalina's Ice World. We already have lots of "canyon-mountain" courses with falling rocks, but Wario Shypyard is mostly underwater, something only Dolphin Shoals do, but they are completely different, and Rosalina's Ice World, while being another ice track is the only Rosalina's one.
In both wave 1 and 2 the last track was the non-city tour one. In the next it seems to be a 3DS track. My guess is that will be rainbow road, that's why is the last instead of a ??? one.
@nocdaes yes, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have done anything to MK8D without Tour. It was already a deluxe version, after all, this dlc was done just because people asked for more for years, so that's really better than nothing, because I don't even believe that they would have release MK9 sooner, since I think they are just waiting for their next console (not something that I like, but than I can understand).
@nocdaes well yes, but Tour must have new content every two week, if it's going to stay successful for years it can even get every track ever. But I wouldn't count it. And I'm sure they won't reuse them directly from Tour for MK9, tbis DLC has been made just because everyone wanted new content.
@nocdaes but some of these tracks were already reused (waluigis pinball was in 7 and choco mountain on DS, for example),so, even without this booster pack, it's easy to guess that they wouldn't had choose them for the retro courses of Mario Kart 9,since 'till MK8 they never put a retro track that was already a retro track in another game. Only in the WiiU DLC, Tour and this DLC.
@Jooles_95 It could be, but it could even be that this time there are tracks with much less grass and rocks (basically the two worse textures of the first DLC). This time we have desert, a pinball that is metallic, an ice circuit, a sweet land... if you watch carefully, Mushroom Gorse's grass is not that different than the one in the wave 1 courses, it's just less.
Deserved. To me it's just behind Planet Robobot and Adventure Wii, on par with Triple Deluxe and Super Star Ultra! I'm even satisfied with what we got about Kirby on Switch, we obly need a collection with the two main 3DS titles to give them a second chance (they sell well, yes, but thanks to the forgotten land they could do more)
@AtlanteanMan after F_Zero GX, GP legend came out (and even Climax even if only in Japan), and after Modnation Racers, Road Trip came for PsVita. But yeah, I totally agree.

This time we have desert, a pinball that is metallic, an ice circuit, a sweet land... if you watch carefully, Mushroom Gorse's grass is not that different than the one in the wave 1 courses, it's just less.
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Is Now The Most Successful Kirby Game In UK Chart History
Deserved. To me it's just behind Planet Robobot and Adventure Wii, on par with Triple Deluxe and Super Star Ultra!
I'm even satisfied with what we got about Kirby on Switch, we obly need a collection with the two main 3DS titles to give them a second chance (they sell well, yes, but thanks to the forgotten land they could do more)
Re: Watch: Is Five Years Between Splatoon Games Too Short A Wait?
@AtlanteanMan after F_Zero GX, GP legend came out (and even Climax even if only in Japan), and after Modnation Racers, Road Trip came for PsVita.
But yeah, I totally agree.
