Shoutout to Moonring. Granted I've not played too much (on Steam), but both the visuals and music are wonderful, and I do enjoy reading the developer's (very) weird and wonderful Steam update posts from time to time. Also worth noting that the Steam version costs absolutely nothing (yes, full game is free), so feel free to try it there first, if you want.
@TechaNinja I assume leechers are likely referring to players who just want to level up their crafting Lives during multiplayer (either at Ginormosia or Treasure Grove), simply by standing around doing nothing whilst gaining exp from other players gathering or taking down enemies. I've had a couple of those players already and it's kinda disrespectful.
Anyways, current camera view doesn't bother me all that much, but improvements to mounts and party formation is definitely a welcome one! Especially how my mount (or any mount) cannot currently seem to jump up fairly small cliffs that should be feasible for it. Still excited for photo mode too, since I love me those modes in any game ever lol.
Also liking your Dark Sultan pfp @BenjiTProcrastinator !
Will definitely be jumping back in tonight, can confirm I definitely did experience three mentioned glitches (on PS5): > Strangeling cutscene skip when completing its three prerequisite quests in Ginormosia (three strangelings were affected, including my favourite character lol) > Ranoah's Treasure quest reappearing, despite having already cleared it > Defeating enemies in Moltana Wastes ended up increasing area rank for West Greatgut Plains instead.
Also encountered a glitch several times (in the Depths) where the wrong boss fish spawns (or at least the cooldown timer shows a different boss fish entirely), that said I did finally encounter the correct fish last night.
I'm now almost 150 hours in (on PS5) and no sign of slowing down yet; definitely liking the open world aka Ginormosia, especially looking forward to how that'll be turning roguelike via the upcoming DLC update.
For anyone wondering about the roguelite aspect, each settlement takes about an hour or more to complete; there's a 'time limit' of having to gain enough reputation to succeed before the Queen's impatience maxes out; and that settlements (win or fail) will gain you meta resources to spend on permanent upgrades and mechanics. Each 'cycle' will allow you to build multiple settlements on the world map to try and reach a seal to reforge (as is the main objective) before the blightstorm resets the map over.
Started Monster Hunter World on Steam last week (my 6th MH title), so that'll remain my focus for a good while. Believe I'm currently HR5 (HR stands for 'hunter rank); next objective is exploring the Great Ravine, but not until I'm done farming Rathian armor first.
Went back to Picross S+ this morning, starting e3 next.
@Ironcore Pretty sure when you go into your first puzzle, the game should ask you to confirm which control method you wish to use (touchscreen or button controls)?
If you chose touchscreen by accident, you can change it to button controls somewhere in the settings menu.
Still gradually progressing through Picross S+, so won't be picking up this one (yet).
However regarding QoL features and out of curiosity, is anyone able to confirm if rewind can be toggled by pressing left on the R-stick (not just via pause menu) and/or if a puzzle can be restarted from the pause menu, that which is not present in Picross S+, but present (at least in the Steam version which I've played) in Logiart Grimoire?
@FishyS ScourgeBringer is definitely a fast-paced and fun time. I quickly knew my skills were no good to beating the game on the default settings though, so eventually I was like "eh, screw this" and turned on invincibility just so I could see the ending lol. As for Logiart Grimoire, I 100%ed that on Steam last weekend. Absolutely loved it, and easily my favourite Picross title by far.
Myself, likely no Switch gaming for me, though I'm considering jumping back in for more Against the Storm (on Steam) or start something new. Probably the former.
@Pak-Man If it's Logiart Grimoire you mean, ignore what I said in comment #35, I just checked the devs' X/Twitter account and game's confirmed to release today-ish
Logiart Grimoire (more Picross, by the devs that know Picross best) is expected to come to Switch sometime this month (following its successful Steam 1.0 release), so maybe that wizard can make a surprise appearance for us?
@The_Pixel_King Absolutely played the heck out of Runner 2 on Wii U (100%ed it on Easy and Normal difficulty, never got around to clearing 100% on Hard), but that will have to wait on my wishlist for now.
So it's just Picross S+ for me this week (I love me some good Picross), whilst also playing Balatro on Steam (I was contemplating getting the Switch version, but decided to grab it on Steam instead).
@Aelynn It's honestly really good (+points for that adorable wizard Emil especially), but of course I'd expect no less from Jupiter (its devs). If you're looking to 100% it though, good luck with the 30x30 and 40x30 puzzles, some of of those are pretty brutal on No Assist conditions.
Given I'm yet to play a Piczle Cross title, how do those games typically compare to Jupiter's picross offerings?
@Aelynn Will definitely be considering SoS Picross at some point, but Logiart Grimoire takes higher priority right now (beat it on Early Access on Steam 100%, and will happily do it again come 1.0 release).
Might add this to the wishlist, given how much I do love me some Picross.
That said, Jupiter's latest Picross title (Logiart Grimoire) is still running its Kickstarter campaign for about a week longer until it closes, aiming for a Switch release around March next year. Definitely another one to watch.
Just Steam for me this weekend, as delightful city-builder roguelike Against the Storm has finally hit its 1.0 release (out of Early Access) yesterday. Already invested 150+ hours into it during its Early Access period, so no doubt imma be losing many more hours to this indie gem still.
Maybe I'll play more PictoQuest on the side as well. Currently 50% progress-wise (no items used, no losses thus far).
Played KarmaZoo's demo on Steam (on Thursday) and grabbed the full version. Played more yesterday and no doubt I'll be jumping in for more wholesomeness during the weekend.
Otherwise, will likely also play more Moonring (really cool RPG on Steam that's also free!) and might play more Astrea, though I've probably had my fill on that now, so might drop that pretty soon.
Played the Steam demo last night (I don't think there's a Switch demo) and bought the full game after, thanks to its rather whimsical and wholesome charms winning me over.
To add; before each level, each player can vote on a modifier to apply to said level (for instance, you can have 'sticky walls' or 'harmonious singing' or even (from what I've seen in a gameplay vid) 'kazoo music', to name a few).
Also, something about the game's narrator definitely adds charm to proceedings: "Have fun in the KarmaZoooooooo~"
@Freek Hyper Light Drifter is amazing! Especially given the god-tier soundtrack that it has.
Myself, mainly focusing on two games on Steam. Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles (roguelite dicebuilder), and the awesome RPG (completely free too!) known as Moonring. Otherwise, more Picross S9 on Switch whenever I have a little time to kill.
+1 to Savage Lynel Bow (recalls my obsession with Royal Halberd also haha)
As much as Tulin is my favourite character (Revali in BotW), where's the love for the Fire Sage (however his name is spelt)? I liked that lil' goron dude.
@Lady_Galadhiel Monster Train is a no-brainer. This one has a tower-defence twist to it where your units (the clans from Hell) must fight off waves of heavenly enemies in order to protect the Pyre, that which is Hell's only hope to relight its inferno as it's currently frozen over. Great soundtrack too and definitely worth checking out.
As for me, my focus this weekend is still Logiart Grimoire on Steam (Jupiter's latest Picross entry). And when I'm not on Steam, it's more Picross S9 on Switch lol.
P.S. Even my profile icon approves (it's Queen's Impling from Monster Train).
Will try and play more DREDGE (on Steam) today and/or tomorrow, if it's not for my current addiction to Jupiter's latest Picross entry, Logiart Grimoire, on Steam. Seriously, who can't say no to an adorable wizard?
@Aelynn I've been playing Logiart Grimoire for around 10+ hours now (since the day after its launch), and I've fallen in love with Picross all over again. Emil (the wizard) is adorable too.
That said, I've played several Picross games in the past and never got around to finishing a single one lol (mainly due to some tricky 20x15 puzzles near the end); hopefully Jupiter's Steam title will be the first one I'll actually finish.
Regardless, there's a high chance I'll probably grab S+ at some point. Can't argue with more Picross after all.
Probably put in at least a couple hours of Vampire Survivors (Steam) earlier today, progressing the Tides of the Foscari DLC. Might consider double-dipping it on Switch next week, why not
Also, Garden Galaxy (Steam) has me mysteriously hooked since the past couple of days. A relaxing garden builder, and I won't be stopping until I've unlocked that final achievement (collect all rainbow-themed items)...
Pikmin 4 no doubt. I picked up from where I left off in the demo, so I'm a tad rusty with controls lol. Shouldn't take too long before I'm back up to speed maybe.
Otherwise, more Against the Storm on Steam, currently on the second-hardest difficulty, Prestige 19.
@SwitchForce The 5-minute increase is likely as a result of 'critical success' from cooking (see my previous comment).
Critical successes (from my experience) either increase the amount of healing by 3 hearts, increase the buff's potency by 1 (cannot increase buff beyond max potency), or increase buff duration by 5 minutes, chosen at random.
Alternatively, you could cook using a Golden Apple (as one of the ingredients), and that will guarantee you a critical success (that, or the Blood Moon method I mentioned already).
What about the Gingerbread House and Sumo levels from We Love Katamari + Royal Reverie? The former consists of well, a Gingerbread House, the latter has you helping a sumo fan eat countless amounts of food in order to take down/roll up his opponent.
Anyways, interesting you've mentioned BotW/TotK's Meat Skewers, as my only purpose for making them in the first place is to sell them for rupees lol. Gotta make it with Prime/Gourmet meat at that. Ask me what my favourite BotW/TotK dish is though, and that's Wildberry Crepe, no contest.
If it is like BotW and the redeemable items will mainly be ingredients, chances are I won't bother redeeming them unless the ingredients are those that increase max stamina/HP (Enduring/Hearty).
That and my cookbook is near 100% complete already (save for Rock-Hard/Dubious Food and a few other seared/frozen ingredients.
@Anti-Matter Myself having played the western release of Yokai Watch 3; in Blasters T you could obtain powerful upgrade treasures in most dungeons and one such type (Prestigious, I believe it's called?) can level your yokai up by an insane amount. Just using one can level a yokai from 1 to 70 instantly.
Not sure if that's a thing in the Japanese versions or not though.
Mainly TotK: After 155+ hours, I finally decided to tackle my first phenomena last night (the Gerudo one). Obviously I've been sidetracked a little too much with exploration, shrines, quests, grinding and the like, but regardless what a glorious experience this game still is, even after so many hours.
Will be grinding for more armor upgrades at Eldin region soon, before later taking on my next phenomena, the Goron one.
If I'm not playing TotK, then it'll likely be more Against the Storm on Steam (currently on Prestige 18 difficulty). Anyone with an interest in city-builders/roguelites should honestly check it out, it's brilliant!
Just a heads up, the game + 3 keyrings bundle (UK) is currently out of stock when I checked before I did my pre-order just earlier.
Went for the game + blue pikmin keyring via GAME instead. I still have my yellow pikmin keyring (Club Nintendo reward for Pikmin 3) hanging around somewhere...
@GravyThief I'm from UK and I checked the eShop this morning (on my Switch), and the demo is available. I've downloaded it so will be jumping into it this evening.
The website version of eShop isn't always 100% reliable from my experience. If you check the 'coming soon' page there, chances are Omori is still listed and that already came out last year!
Not sure how many people know this, but cooking during a Blood Moon is perhaps the best time opportunity to cook:
Occasionally when cooking, if you hear a jingle (or a steamy sound effect if you skip the cooking cutscene), the food has earned a 'critical success', meaning it's turned out better than usual (i.e. extra healing, increased buff potency or increased buff duration).
Critical success is rare for that reason, however cooking during a Blood Moon night (between 11.30 and midnight) will guarantee you those sweet crits (and yes, it works in BotW as well). Hail to the Blood Moon!
P.S. Only exception to this rule it seems are Monster recipes (those using Monster Extract). Those never crit to my experience, but it should work for the others.
More Tears of the Kingdom obviously (120+ hours in, I've now cleared all tears and towers, still yet to tackle a single temple; what's wrong with me lol), and will try to make more progress in We Love Katamari + Royal Reverie (nearing the end; once I beat that, I should really get back into more Against the Storm on Steam. Fantastic roguelite, that one).
@Yas You won't regret Monster Train. A roguelite that released on Switch (August 2021) to almost no fanfare, but regardless is without doubt a wonderful deckbuilding gem that's on par with Slay the Spire.
As for myself, blame TotK I'll likely pick nothing up from this sale lol. My backlog's also pretty sizeable enough as is.
I gotta give a shout out to Siralim Ultimate. Not sure how the Switch performance is now (since it was pretty laggy on launch back in December), but I've lost at least 550+ hours to this wonderful gem (on Steam) last year.
1,200+ creatures (with fusion mechanic), great writing, and a surprisingly great soundtrack.
Just grabbed myself NSMBU DX and 3D World, though both don't appear to be listed as being part of the Spring Sale though, even if the discount price is correct.
@MarioBrickLayer So far it's alright, nothing spectacular. There's potential in combat (i.e. using walls and pillars to execute mid-air attacks), though more often than not I'm having to constantly dodge attacks.
Enemies aside, the world kinda feels empty at the moment. Hardly any NPCs, and not much else to do besides solving a few puzzles and battling, since game progression is pretty much linear. The cutscenes and voice acting are pretty solid though.
Demo should still be available in the eShop (at least in EU) if you're interested.
Juggling between Raji: An Ancient Epic and Final Bar Line on Switch, and Against the Storm on Steam.
Raji I've beaten the first boss and am on the second area. Combat physics are a bit awkward in places, but hopefully I'll improve soon. Final Bar Line I started a few days back (played the demo, bought the base game minus DLC for now). Sure I'm no FF veteran, but I do love me a good rhythm game from time to time. Against the Storm I'm currently doing a run on Prestige 2 difficulty. Blightrot is here to stay now, and that's fine by me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st March)
Definitely gonna be Monster Hunter Wilds (on PS5) for me; I must've played about 9 hours already yesterday, dang.
Also heading out shopping in a bit, so playing more Picross S+ (currently on e9, on the final stretch) whilst I'm out.
Happy gaming weekend y'all!
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Switch) - The Best Version, But Lacks Extras To Make It Essential
@_Figo_ I have no plans in getting this (played it a ton on 3DS though), but I do hope they at least improved on the 4th boss.
Frustrating boss by design. If you know, you know.

A bit more Picross S+ on Switch, though my attention is mainly focused on Logiart Grimoire (Steam) right now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

More Balatro on Steam, with some Picross S+ (Switch) in between. Woo, rhyming.

Went for the game + blue pikmin keyring via GAME instead. I still have my yellow pikmin keyring (Club Nintendo reward for Pikmin 3) hanging around somewhere...
Re: Nintendo's Pikmin 4 Demo Is Now Available On The Switch eShop
@GravyThief I'm from UK and I checked the eShop this morning (on my Switch), and the demo is available. I've downloaded it so will be jumping into it this evening.
The website version of eShop isn't always 100% reliable from my experience. If you check the 'coming soon' page there, chances are Omori is still listed and that already came out last year!
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: Best Recipes - How To Cook, Full Recipe List
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 17th)
Re: Celebrate Nintendo Live 2023 With Stylish Switch Cases, T-Shirts, And More
Seems like there's no available shipping for Europe (or UK). I'd be down for a mug and/or pin-badge set.
Re: Nintendo's eShop Summer Sale Is Now Live, With Discounts On Over 1,500 Games (Europe)
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th June (North America)
Has to be We Love Katamari.
One cannot say no to its wonderful and chaotic soundtrack especially (yeah I bought the DLC as well).
Re: Best Pokémon-Likes On Nintendo Switch - Games To Play After You've Finished Pokémon
Re: Amazon Spring Sale: Best Deals On Nintendo Switch Consoles, Games And Accessories
Just grabbed myself NSMBU DX and 3D World, though both don't appear to be listed as being part of the Spring Sale though, even if the discount price is correct.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 18th)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 18th)
