'It arrives online and in UK stores tomorrow (6th May) at 3pm UK time, with ScorbunnyTomorrow:UK:20210505:All%20Subscribers">this page of other Pokémon toys a good bet for where it'll end up.'
Likely more Into the Breach, The Longing and Curse of the Dead Gods. Monster Hunter Rise is a maybe, but for whatever reason my mood does not permit me to play this at all lately.
Sure this game is undeniably slow, but I myself (assumingly in the minority) really enjoy that premise. After all, this isn't a game meant for long bursts at all; I can just quickly ask Shade to do something or go somewhere, play something else in the meantime, and come back once he's done.
Also, @Strumpan is correct with the speed up mechanic; the comfier Shade's home is, the faster time goes whilst you're in there. More so if he's reading a book (which can be done whilst the game's closed, too).
All the way. Started my first MH (being 4 Ultimate) with the Dual Blades, but soon enough the Insect Glaive won me over, and it still does.
Though I don't really use 'ZL + A' as much as I should. Instead (given I have the red extract), I make it a habit to 'ZR + B' to vault and then 'A' to summersault right towards my target like a madman. Then I get launched up and 'A' again and again until my stamina drains or I touch ground. Brilliant stuff.
@Mr-Fuggles777 Same here, especially since Amazon UK cancelled my order (due to stock issues, apparently). So I'm going for the T-shirt bundle off Nintendo UK instead; also comes with free steelbook/cards and a £10 T-shirt discount.
@Vriess Hyper Light Drifter is easily one of my favourite indies, and its soundtrack is quite simply amazing. I'll definitely need to replay that at some point this year.
Will be playing more Monster Hunter Rise demo and UnderMine later today.
Game looks good. I definitely enjoyed my time with Faeria for a bit (about roughly 25ish hours), though nowhere as close as I have with Slay the Spire (850+ hours and counting).
@Daymonkey You're not the only one; by the time I've (barely) taken down the Clock Tower boss, I've already given up hope trying to finish 2BC. I'm not worried about trying to beat it though.
Speaking of, I've been playing through the Fatal Falls DLC (in Dead Cells) earlier this week. Unlocked a bunch of its new stuff already, still not sure how to unlock the talking sword that's the DLC's main highlight.
Also just cleared the first 3 chapters in Cyber Shadow and will head back for more addiction that is Darkest Dungeon (I'm now 205+ hours in) in a bit.
Focusing on more Darkest Dungeon (because yeah, I'm still addicted, having played 170+ hours since November).
Will need to prepare in taking down Crimson Court's (DLC) first major boss soon; or else having to take too many 'cursed' allies to a quest could bring about a pretty nasty consequence.
Darkest Dungeon (top priority), Dicey Dungeons and Picross S5. But given the current Xmas sale and the constant praise for Horace that I'm seeing, I'll finally have a look and see what the fuss is all about.
Nope, it's definitely not the fishing that got me nervous, it's any given hour when the tarantulas/scorpions are roaming; the fear I'd accidently run into them, or mis-swing my bug net that the critters would suddenly strike, causing the villager (Shadeon) to pass out.
I'll quite happily take a more relaxing session of Darkest Dungeon (ironic, since it's a game centred on stress) over the aforementioned any day.
I've heard of it here and there, but I only just saw the trailer and it's already convincing me; as someone who loves Slay the Spire and roguelikes in general
I just finished getting the Super Mario All-Stars theme in Tetris 99 and will jump straight back into Darkest Dungeon once I've done today's daily run in Slay the Spire (as usual).
Currently halfway through said DD (Radiant difficulty), having took down the first Colour of Madness (DLC) boss yesterday. Right now, I'm just casually grinding for more town upgrades and level 5 skills/equipment as my main priority, before continuing with the level 3 bosses (4 left to go) and eventually making a start on the level 5 quests.
If it weren't for this website recommending Hyper Light Drifter in one of their regular articles (the under £10 recommendations article) back in May, I'd be still yet to play it.
Seriously, HLD should not be passed up. Engaging and challenging gameplay, many secrets to discover, vibrant areas to explore, all topped off with an incredible soundtrack. Indies don't get any better than this.
Hoping to get proper stuck into Darkest Dungeon; I started it back on Tuesday and I'm already really liking the game's gothic horror ambience. Patience is key; I know it'll get very difficult, very soon.
Might also start Crypt of the Necrodancer and Enter the Gungeon which I purchased from recent sales.
Been also playing a lot more Binding of Issac as of late. Funny, since I wasn't fond of the gross art style initially.
@GregamanX I started playing Ori 2 since patch as well, and so far, no major hiccups as of yet. I 100%ed the Midnight Burrows area on Thursday with no notable issues (but you also said snow area, which I haven't gotten up to just yet).
My main focus this weekend will be Ori 2, with some ScourgeBringer, Binding of Issac and Slay the Spire thrown in. And I'll also beat Hyper Light Drifter for the 6th time (since August), as being amongst my favourite video game experiences of all-time. Flawless.
I just beat Hyper Light Drifter for the 5th time (last week, New Game+), so a roguelite (I like those) that pays a little homage to HLD's artstyle (not forgetting the gun recharge mechanic) is definitely a welcome one.
Cool, I'm considering playing this one through on handheld only (provided that drift doesn't interfere).
I'm curious though if I can still feed those hungry lumas quickly on touchscreen (in the original, it's point and hold down B), and not having to rapidly tap 1000+ or so times like a weirdo.
Mainly focusing on Hyper Light Drifter; already beat it on Newcomer difficulty (it's still difficult regardless), and will try to get as close to 100% as possible on Standard difficulty (putting aside a certain challenge that's apparently very stressful...)
Regardless, I love this game, and its OST is legendary.
A Short Hike - played an hour+, need to finish it. Binding of Issac - because why not. Unlocked Samson and Judas yesterday. Faeria - a mission or two each day at the very least. Just focusing on building my card collection. Dead Cells - on my first run in 2BC difficulty. Having no heal fountain this time round is going to be painful. Slay the Spire - because addiction. Always in it for the Daily Runs, at least.
@GregamanX Now you've convinced me to get A Short Hike as well. Maybe I do need something more relaxing after the roguelikes I've been investing a lot of time into lately.
Anyways, my focus this weekend is on Faeria; such a beautiful-looking and surprisingly addictive card game. I just purchased the puzzles DLC for it last night.
Also dipping into Dead Cells/Slay the Spire/Binding of Issac as and when I fancy.
@PalmerDeadbeat The game being online-only had made me doubtful at first, but your comment convinced me to just get it anyway.
I'm only a few hours in, and I can already sense the addiction being real. Also checked the in-game shop and saw that full-set cosmetics usually sell for 70,000 currency on average (so that's like 17,500 a piece?); and seeing that daily log-ins reward only 400...I'm just glad I've picked up the game now.
I'm very much leaning towards 'likely getting this' at the moment; the Piklopedia is certainly a welcome feature (as was the cherry on the cake for Pikmin 2), but am curious to see how touchscreen controls fare in handheld.
I'm not one to play on TV much anymore, even if I much loved the Wii U version's Wiimote + nunchuk control scheme.
Will be finishing Donkey Kong Country on NSO today, and I have a sudden desire to want to play The Messenger after that (started it in January, but was quickly caught up in backlog after a few days). I might restart that game to get used to the controls again, only played for a few hours anyway.
And also playing more Slay the Spire (as is the norm) and Dead Cells on the side. Still getting used to all the adjustments made in the latter's recent update.
I just started playing this since last Friday; safe to say it's a blast.
Don't think I'll be taking on the higher difficulties just yet though, I'll be sticking to casual runs and unlocking loads more weapons and stuff in the meantime. No rush.
I honestly thought nothing about Slay the Spire before getting it (last August), but it soon became my favourite game on Switch (575 hours invested, and counting). If you've an interest for the roguelite/like genre and/or card-battlers, don't pass this one up. Seriously.
I haven't beaten Tangledeep yet, but I give that a mention for being a pretty solid dungeon crawler with various jobs/modifiers and a neat aesthetic.
I'll be starting Dead Cells, this Friday. Seen some gameplay already, and it looks and sounds absolutely great.
I'm currently considering getting Wargroove at the moment, though I've never played any Advance Wars or Fire Emblem title. Not really in it for the multiplayer much though. Worth a shot?
Looking to finish Hyper Light Drifter today and will play Bug Fables straight after. Also started Ni No Kuni (Wrath of the White Witch) a few days back, so will want to progress with that soon before it loses my interest.
The usual New Horizons and Slay the Spire, but also started Hyper Light Drifter last week as recommended (on this site) for £9 sale price. Might want to correct that lol.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 1st)
Likely more Into the Breach, The Longing and Curse of the Dead Gods. Monster Hunter Rise is a maybe, but for whatever reason my mood does not permit me to play this at all lately.
Re: Review: The Longing - Tedious By Design, And Incredibly Successful At It

Re: Monster Hunter Rise Version 2.0 Launches Very Soon, Adds Monsters, Quests and More
Think I'll craft the Chameleos armour as my first layered armour set. Chammy for the win
Also guessing what my uncapped HR will be come tomorrow; maybe mid 40 range?
Re: Skul: The Hero Slayer Is Getting A Switch Release This Summer
The first time I've seen this game, and I'm perhaps already convinced for Day 1.
I swear the protagonist briefly took on a Beheaded (Dead Cells) appearance during today's trailer, too.
Re: Curse Of The Dead Gods Will Have Dead Cells Crossover DLC In A Free Update
Oooh neat. I still have this game on my wishlist, and Dead Cells' crossover is sure to sweeten up the deal.
I'm likely waiting for a sale though, I'm too addicted to Monster Hunter Rise right now.
Re: Soapbox: The Insect Glaive Is Still Awesome In Monster Hunter Rise

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 27th)
Hugely focusing on Monster Hunter Rise, easily the prettiest game I've played in handheld.
Re: Video: Check Out This Unboxing Of The Monster Hunter Rise Collector's Edition

Re: Monster Hunter Rise Is Getting Another Free Demo, Future Free Updates Detailed
Aw yeah, gotta bring back my favourite monster Chammy
Re: Where To Pre-Order Monster Hunter Rise And The Three amiibo
Awesome, just preordered the Palico/Palamute amiibo off Nintendo UK Store (getting the Collector's Edition from Amazon as well).
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 13th)
I'm still addicted to Darkest Dungeon: I finally beat the Crimson Court DLC earlier this week, so I can focus more on the Colour of Madness DLC soon.
Will also need to make more progress in Cyber Shadow soon before I suddenly lose interest and forget about it.
Re: The Creator Of Magic: The Gathering Is Working On Roguebook, A Deckbuilder Coming To Switch This Year
Game looks good. I definitely enjoyed my time with Faeria for a bit (about roughly 25ish hours), though nowhere as close as I have with Slay the Spire (850+ hours and counting).
Regardless, I always love me some more roguelike.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 30th)

Re: Tactical Battler Epitaph Hopes To Blend Darkest Dungeon And Final Fantasy For Some Deadly Switch Combat
Definitely looks cool, but I'll likely grab it later. I've been too addicted to playing Darkest Dungeon as of late.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 19th)
Darkest Dungeon (top priority), Dicey Dungeons and Picross S5. But given the current Xmas sale and the constant praise for Horace that I'm seeing, I'll finally have a look and see what the fuss is all about.
Re: Soapbox: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Easily My Most Nerve-Racking Game Of 2020
Nope, it's definitely not the fishing that got me nervous, it's any given hour when the tarantulas/scorpions are roaming; the fear I'd accidently run into them, or mis-swing my bug net that the critters would suddenly strike, causing the villager (Shadeon) to pass out.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Card Games, Board Games And Deck Builders
@Kalvort Agreed, it's easily my most played game on Switch by a landslide (805+ hours current). SteamWorld Quest gets my honourable mention as well.
I'm tempted to grab Hand of Fate 2 at some point, but I ought to slow down on my impulse purchases for now.
Re: Dead Cells Unveils Second Major DLC Expansion ‘Fatal Falls’
The indie that keeps on giving. Will grab the DLC day 1, no doubt.
Re: All Abylight Studios Switch Games Are Now 50% Off For Black Friday
@KimBread The Switch version also includes a new area (Tower Climb challenge), an extra boss, as well as an additional outfit and 2 more guns.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 14th)
Mainly Darkest Dungeon this weekend. I had been craving for another roguelike/lite a couple weeks back, and so far this game ticks all the boxes.
Might also play some Crypt of the Necrodancer/Enter the Gungeon on the side, but I'm in a proper Darkest Dungeon mood right now so we'll see.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 7th)

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Comfort Food Game?
Roguelikes/lites as of late, especially the beauty that is Slay the Spire.
Just started and am currently playing Darkest Dungeon as to speak. So I'm de-stressing with a game that's all about stress, hm.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 31st)

Preloaded and waiting.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 10th)
Saving up gems for more house renovations in Hades, and am currently on my 5th playthrough in Hyper Light Drifter (I love the latter a bit too much).
Re: How Well Do You Know Minecraft?
11/15, I answered the rarest ore question too quickly without thinking (went for Diamond).

A bit of the below:
A Short Hike - played an hour+, need to finish it.
Binding of Issac - because why not. Unlocked Samson and Judas yesterday.
Faeria - a mission or two each day at the very least. Just focusing on building my card collection.
Dead Cells - on my first run in 2BC difficulty. Having no heal fountain this time round is going to be painful.

Re: Review: Faeria - A Superb Mix Of Board Game And Card-Battling Action
Will have to keep an eye on this one. Slay the Spire has taught me to love card-based games, after all.

Re: Can You Name These Switch Games From Their Menu Icons?
Scored 17/21 (I just knew HLD would be on the list; a game I much highly recommend)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 4th)
Just finished unlocking the Xenoblade Chronicles theme in Tetris 99.
After that, it's more Dead Cells. The addictive gameplay loop is becoming real it seems.
Re: Dead Cells Has Now Sold 3 Million Copies, New Update Detailed
I just started playing this since last Friday; safe to say it's a blast.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 20th)
My main focus is on Bug Fables (just started Chapter 4), with a bit of One Step from Eden as well.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 13th)
Just finished my Daily Run in Slay the Spire, and might play more One Step from Eden and/or Bug Fables in a bit.
Current eShop sales are calling to me though. Will need to have a look and possibly grab something, quick.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 6th)
My focus is on One Step from Eden (only played about 2+ hours so far) and Bug Fables (finished Chapter 2 yesterday).
Downloaded the free edition of 51 Worldwide Games earlier (will try that in a bit), and might pick up Wargroove in the sale later.
Re: Nintendo Kicks Off Huge 'Digital Days' Switch Sale, Over 350 Games Discounted (Europe)
@Joriss That's it, spread the word
I'm currently considering getting Wargroove at the moment, though I've never played any Advance Wars or Fire Emblem title. Not really in it for the multiplayer much though. Worth a shot?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 30th)
Looking to finish Hyper Light Drifter today and will play Bug Fables straight after. Also started Ni No Kuni (Wrath of the White Witch) a few days back, so will want to progress with that soon before it loses my interest.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 23rd)
The usual New Horizons and Slay the Spire, but also started Hyper Light Drifter last week as recommended (on this site) for £9 sale price.
It's a pretty intense game, what with the constant dodging and slashing/shooting, but the art style's gorgeous and it's simply a fun experience overall. I'm at around halfway point, having beaten the 2nd boss last night.
