Re: Review: When The Past Was Around - The Perfect Video Game Tonic For 2020

Just went through it. I'll admit that I tended to overthink the puzzles, especially in chapter 2, and there was one part where they suddenly brought in use of the right analog stick that I didn't expect. But overall, it was a very touching story, and the musician in me loved having that as a running theme.

Also, the young lady's name is Eda, if you want to edit the article.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #72 - Tuff E Nuff

Three equally bad box arts for a horrible game. Fitting!

Licensing Jaleco games must be dirt cheap for there to be so many on the SNES Online service. Not that there's many good fighting games on SNES which don't belong to Capcom or SNK... Namco could/should release WeaponLord on it, though.

In the same vein as Hokuto no Ken listed above, there were two Sega games based on the manga Kujaku Ō (Peacock King) that had their licenses dropped in the west — the Master System game became SpellCaster, while the Genesis game became Mystic Defender.

Also, Mashin Hero Wataru on TurboGrafx became Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, and in a reversal, the NES game Shatterhand was changed into a Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain tie-in when it released in Japan.

So many animatronics in the park, and I hope overexcited people don't break all those interactables. That will definitely be a concern in the California and Florida parks.

I can understand why they're focusing on Mario, though. A) Instantly recognizable even to lay-audiences, and B) properly representing every big Nintendo IP would require their own park, not just an offshoot of Universal Studios.

Re: Random: Smash Bros. Fans React To Geno's Return As A Mii Fighter Costume

I hope they rotate in some new spirits. There's still a good number of Nintendo's own franchises that lack collectible JPEGs. StarTropics, Endless Ocean, Geist, Cruis'n, Pro Wrestling...

On topic, it mystifies me how "professional" Smash roster speculators can talk about how much they want Geno, Sora or Crono and say how very DEFINITE their odds of getting in are, and then they turn around and are aghast at how Sephiroth could have EVER made it into Ultimate. Between both Fighters Passes, it's pretty obvious that the doors are wiiiide open for people to come in, and topics such as relevance or deserving of an invitation are totally out the window. Can't wait to see who the final(?) three are.

Re: Talking Point: Cloud Gaming On Switch – The Pros And Cons Of The Cloud

Sabrewing

As long as the internet isn't treated as an essential utility like water and heat/gas in America, ISPs will never be bothered to upgrade their lines sufficiently enough to make cloud gaming feasible here. It wouldn't surprise me if some rural areas still have to cope with dish-based service or — gulp — dial-up. My apartment complex only got fiber a year or so ago, and it's through AT&T of all companies.

Re: Multiplayer Horror Dead By Daylight Gets Graphics Update, Halloween Event And More

With how much rougher the Switch version looks, Behaviour should release a Nintendo-exclusive killer/survivor to help sweeten the pot to buy that version. Pious Augustus and Alex Roivas are the most obvious choices, but since they co-own the Fatal Frame franchise, they could also do Yuri Kozukata and Ose Kurosawa from the Wii U installment, or Mio Amakura and Sae Kurosawa from FF2.

Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate's New Stage Minecraft World Will Feature Six Different Biomes

The team at Sora Ltd. really put a lot of thought and detail into this. I will say that Steve looks like he'll be tricky to play outside of his stage, since he becomes limited to the materials newly coded into the stage (like their demonstration that the Great Fox only had iron), so I imagine you'll see him a lot more often in Battlefield/Omega stages where the materials are fixed.
