Re: The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel III Brings More JRPG Action To The Switch Next Spring

@JR150 I didn't say "bad", I said "strange". This is up there with EA only porting Mass Effect 3 to the Wii U, or if Spike Chunsoft somehow only decided to port Zero Time Dilemma to the Switch without 999 and Virtue's Last Reward to precede it.

Yeah, it's great the game is getting wider audience exposure, but it comes with the caveat that newcomers will be scratching their heads at why plot details are highlighted as important.

Re: Doug Bowser's Favourite Video Game May Surprise You

When they were new, I always prefered The 7th Guest to Myst (since they were the two big CD-ROM rivals at the time) because it was fully animated over Myst's slideshow presentation with occasional video. Looking at them now, Myst has aged much better in its allowance for the player to draw conclusions about the setting, plus the concept of Ages and Writing linking books to/from them is just incredible.

Call me nuts, and I still would prefer an Eternal Darkness rep (Alex if Spirits can be "promoted", Pious if not) and/or Adol Christin of Ys over this idea, but... I think a POW Armor from R-Type would be a really inspired choice.

Smash in general is lacking in shoot-em-up content; the Vic Viper would have been a great Assist Trophy, but no sign of it, and since controlling a starship is out of the question for balance reasons, the POW Armor being playable in previous R-Type games makes it a nice choice, since it could hop and hover around like it does as an NPC but still have access to the familiar R9 Arrowhead range of weaponry, and then the R9 itself could come in as its Final Smash.

Re: Fatal Frame Producer Wants To Bring A New Entry In The Survival Horror Series To Nintendo Switch

@BarefootBowser A) The GamePad has a maximum range where it can function away from the base console, and treating it like a complete AR experience would expose that limitation quickly, B) Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir did that as mentioned previously, which I didn't think was too bad, but the 3DS's... lacking cameras made some parts pretty finnicky. To its credit, Fatal Frame 5 used the GamePad pretty darn well as the camera, even letting you take portrait shots to do a bit more damage if you tilted the Pad sideways.

And then there's poor Ghostwire, which ended up never finding a publisher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIlxo-X5t5w

Re: Review: Call Of Cthulhu - Oppressive Cosmic Horror That's Plagued By Problems

As far as tabletop horror gaming goes, I really hope a developer partners with Wizards of the Coast someday to produce a Betrayal at House on the Hill video game. They could even set it up such that multiplayer on multiple Switches gave each player a custom look at the board, to aid in hiding the activities of the traitor.

And no, playing it in Tabletop Simulator is not the same thing. Stupid clunky interface.
