Funny that you mention the infamous GK3 cat-hair mustache puzzle. While it understandably sounds so stupid out of context, it has a certain (albeit miniscule) justification if you think about it this way — neither Gabriel nor his intended lookalike target has a mustache, but by ADDING a mustache to the target's ID, he makes all the other imperfections in his "costume" a lot less likely to be scrutinized. "Yeah, he has the same huge mustache as his ID... Huh, those wrinkles aren't there... Maybe he just got some face cream."

Still no excuse for why Gabe chose cat hair, though, or how he went about acquiring it.

It was definitely impressive for the comparatively humble Game Boy Color. I would also throw some love towards the Deja Vu I & II combo cartridge, both for being solid adaptations of the MacVenture classics (even if syringes were still censored into "capsules"; practice safe drug use, kids) and also bringing Deja Vu II to Nintendo players for the first time.

These Diner Dash clones always make me snicker. ONE person dealing with every customer; you -might- get lucky and have an assistant in the actual kitchen, but odds are good that you'll be personally responsible for that, too. Now if only they made you deal with the logistics of restaurant management, too (like ordering your ingredients), then they'd be a perfect microcosm of the capitalist dream.

A piece of advice for those jumping into it new — DON'T start with Lute or Asellus. That's the equivalent of jumping into the deep end of the pool. The best order I would suggest as follows:

Red — Linear, lets you get used to the combat mechanics without worrying about where you should be going.

T260-G — Mechs are pretty easy to outfit in terms of gear, so you're not overwhelmed by the SaGa brand of stat gains.

Blue — Focuses on the magic schools as the ultimate goal, so you learn how their sidequests work and you get a taste of what powers you want to utilize in future scenarios.

Emelia — Starts opening the sandbox more, but you still have clear objectives, plus Emelia has access to a dedicated training area to bolster her stats so you don't need to worry about where to find a grinding spot.

Riki — Probably the last scenario which can be considered "fair" in that it gives you both a clear direction and good stat gain opportunities, but you also have to contend with Riki being a monster, so his evolutions will require a guide.

Asellus — The final scenario which gives you a clear goal, but it is HARD. And they're also expanding it beyond where the PSX version went.

Lute — THE most open-ended story, bar none, to the point that you may wonder what the hell you're even supposed to be doing if you don't have the context from the first six stories.
