Original article [Tue 29th Dec, 2020 03:30 GMT]: Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai is known on Twitter for uploading photos of Ultimate, but next year he'll slow down.
After an entire year of daily photo sharing, he's left with no other option in order to extend the life of his photo collection. Apparently, he still more has more than 100 shots worth posting and will likely move to a "five-day-a-week" schedule - although not every single shot in his photo library is safe to upload, due to the fact he's running a dev build of the game.
This was the original shot he posted when he first began doing this late last year, and below this is the shot he posted alongside his latest announcement:

That's disappointing to hear. His Smash Bros. photography goes back and forth between being cinematic and hilarious.
He could honestly create an album book out of all the shots he has taken and I bet it would sell nicely.
PushDustIn on Twitter did his own translation on Sakurai’s tweet, and he says that Sakurai is “considering five pictures a week after New Year’s”. So if Sakurai is doing less pictures next year, the pictures may not be reduced in quantity by that much.

@Sabrewing I still don't know what the 2 clocks were for, considering the rest of the photos are character-driven. Sure we had a reveal on 12/10, but that doesn't explain the 14 or the 30. And, hey, they probably mean nothing in re: reveals, but that's the only reasonable instance since it's that out-of-whack, whereas speculation on his normal photos makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
We tell the man to take a break and then when he does we want him to do more work, I would be laying if I said I didn't want more photos.
@KingBowser86 I just took it to be a cute Chrono Trigger homage, since the swirling in the background looks like when you go through a Gate, and he's not above referencing other games without it going anywhere (like that one screen cap that's arranged as a Golden Sun battle).
@John_Koshiro Not just Smash, but also his Minecraft creations.
I'm not surprised Sakurai is not posting as much. He has three Smash Fighters to bring out and to make sure they're up to par. He's in the home stretch and he's aiming to finish.
I always love the shots Sakurai shares. Though honestly I can imagine him using debug tools to create some, like freezing characters in place so he can then place the next character in their pose before freezing them too.
And if he doesn't... then well, even more props to him for being able to make these grand screenshots!
Sakurai clearly loves what he has created. It’s a wonderful thing to see.
That Fox shot really exemplifies everything that is wrong with Fox's post-2005 design. His Adventures appearance really was the definitive look in comparison.
@Snatcher agreed. Take a year off an then bring a new Kid Icarus on switch for god's sake.
Smash it's a formula, and he nails it, but at this point his talent is almost being wasted.

Sakurai is a great developer and director and overworks himself and deserves a break.
Unfortunately that knowledge doesn’t stop me from really hoping to see a tearful Sakurai say he’s been told to do a third fighter’s pass and a new Kid Icarus (or even just an expanded port) and begging the world to leave him alone.
