A new listing on the Switch eShop has revealed Disney Interactive and Lucasfilm is bringing not one, but two LucasArts classics to the Nintendo Switch on 29th June.
They include Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol in a double-pack "Lucasfilm Classic Games" collection. Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) has helped Disney Interactive out with this release.
These new versions will allow players to save at any time and include museum content, soundtracks, local co-op and achievements. Although both of these games were released on the Super Nintendo, it's not clear what versions Switch eShop releases are based on.

Are these two classics you would be interested in revisiting? Leave a comment down below.

If only Disney would bring back LucasArts.
Well that’s an unexpected but very, very welcome surprise!
ZAMN is fantastic!! The one SNES game I own that I never was able to beat. I was actually going to try this weekend but maybe I'll wait now. Plus, the soundtrack is absolutely killer!
I love Zombies ate my neighbors but have never beaten the game. They should make a modern sequel.
I haven't heard much good about ghoul patrol. I might look into it.
Sweet! I've been hoping it would come to the SNES Online service, but this works too. My older brother used to play it over at our cousin's house and he told me it was really good, so I bought it back on the Wii Shop years ago for us to play together, and I really enjoyed it. This being a separate eShop release and not a NSO game means no online co-op, though, which is unfortunate.
Given that there is no radar on the screen, this would be the SNES version. The Genesis version had a persistent radar on the screen on the right hand side along with items/info. With the SNES version, you had to toggle the radar and items were on the top.
Zombies ate my Neighbors is so good! I can’t wait to play this again!
Let's hope this becomes a series and we get Monkey Island next.
Wow, now I never thought I would see this game available again. Day one for me!
Wow, how'd this take so long? This about the only SNES era game I've kinda wanted.
Not a disney fan, but I will grab these.
That tablet at 0:02 has almost no bezel. It has to be the Switch Pro tablet!🤪
But it also isn't HD screen proportions either, so probably not plausible.
Well.... Obviously a subsection of hell just froze over.
Love Zombies Ate my Neighbors. Kinda bugs me that there doesn’t seem to be any online play. A game like this definitely needs it.
Hopefully it'll come with some quality of life improvements such as a better map system and easier means of switching weapons. Oh and obviously a save system.
EDIT: Oh just read it does indeed have a save system. Nice!
Omg. OMG! Zombies ate my neighbors is for real one of my favorite snes games! Holy crap!
Might get zombies ate my neighbours got it on my SNES classic & it's really fun
YEESSSSS!!!!!
I have been patiently waiting for ZAMN since SNES games launched on NSO.
A stone-cold CLASSIC that so perfectly captures that feel and sound of ultra cheesy schlock B-grade sci-fi from yesteryear.
Truly awesome news, even if they’re not on NSO like I hoped. I’ve never even played Ghoul Patrol - heard it’s a bit of a letdown, but it’ll just be the icing on the Zombie cake.
Somebody call Zeke and Julie, because MARS NEEDS CHEERLEADERS! 😂
Day one buy for sure. Now that Disney owns LucasArts games and not Konami, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give us the Super Star Wars Trilogy and Metal Warrior as well. After all these were once a part of the legendary lineup from a classic offering called the Virtual Console which Nintendo stupidly took away.
I still have my original snes ZAMN cartridge. I never got to play Ghoul Patrol though. It was more obscure and hard to find.
This is amazing news. Shortly after the release of the Blizzard Arcade Collection, I actually started a thread asking for a LucasArts Collection, and Zombies Ate My Neighbors was at the top of my want list for that collection. I’ll be buying this day one, but I hope they do multiple volumes as there is an incredible catalogue of games there. Herc’s Adventures is a criminally underrated game that I would love to see released on the Switch
I can't believe Zombies Ate My Neighbors is coming to Switch! One of my favorite childhood games on the SNES growing up. Now give me a physical release with the game on a cartridge please. With local wireless play support.
The steady stream of classic Star Wars games gives me hope that most of them will eventually come out on the Switch. I'm especially holding out for the Rogue Squadron trilogy and the rest of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games.
Omg! Please make Secret of Monkey Island the next release!
Yoooo that's awesome!
One more game from the Virtual Console now on the Switch. Getting closer and closer to retiring the Wii U...
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
An unexpected surprise!
Oh man I LOVE these games. Zombies Ate My Neighbors is especially great. They don't make games like these anymore.
@Avol - I never gave ZAMN a chance, but I can attest to the soundtrack due to the amount of remixes I listened to back in the day on Overclocked Remix.
I have these on my mini genesis. I'd pick this up for $4 for sure
@AvianBlue Ghoul Patrol was the sequel to Zombies ate My Neighbors.
Wholly Katzenberger, this is the best news ever. Me and my Toxic Twin would play ZAMN all the freakin' time. It has to be one of my most favorite SNES games of all time.
Great news. However, I was hoping for a different Disney Collection to play in the Afternoon.
That's good news. Now let's see the price and if there's a physical edition.
Still have Zombies on the Wii U, but will defo pick this up
@Avol coop is harder than single player
AMAZING! Absolutely love ZAMN!
I only have one question: Why don't we have the Disney afternoon collection yet? I'd buy that on Switch in a heartbeat.
Hopefully this points towards Zeke/Julie for smash!
I was playing these last week on my Snes!! Excellent news
Yesssss! Now bring the snes star wars please.
Games like this should be added to NSO to give the service some actual value.
Xbox live and PS+ both offer monthly free games, why can't Nintendo?
Like most everyone here cant wait for Zombies! Now we just need the Monkey Island series and Maniac Mansion!
I hope it’s the Megadrive version that gets ported as it was not only uncensored but played and looked slightly better than the SNES version. Either way though it’ll be day one for me.
I’ll never forget the first time my mother rented Zombies Ate My Neighbors, close to when the game was released. I played a lot of it, then she served breakfast. I told her the way the eggs were scrambled kinda reminded me of brains, and I felt like a zombie eating it! I remember her being both amused and annoyed. Heh. This news makes me happy!
@FoxMcCloud @Ghost_of_Hasashi I would be fine to have the SNES Super Star Wars games on NSO, but I wouldn’t buy them in a collection. I played Empire back when I had a SNES. It was just okay. Took me a long time to beat Vader.
I just tried this game out on some online emulator site. I only played like 2-3 levels, but having it on my switch would be a lot of fun. Hoping it’s a $20 digital title.
"Zombies Ate My Neighbors" is ranked a Top 50 SNES game by IGN.
"Ghoul Patrol" was going to be another game but after ZAMN's success was retooled to become an inferior sequel.
@AvianBlue someone is! https://tunedoutgames.com/ demons eat my neighbours
Daaaaaaamn, what a great way to start the day!! Easily one of my faves from the 16 bit era.
@Yanina My thoughts exactly!
I'm waiting to find out that this costs $39.99 so I can ignore it and move on with my life.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors is my most replayed game on SNES. Had many fun after school days with my brother co-oping the game.
Loved ZAMN, didn't realise it was a LucasArts game though.
zombies ate my neighbors is a good game but I was hoping for some monkey island tbh
@Mr-Fuggles777
You want Nintendo to double or triple the price of NSO?
No thanks.
I have enough games in the backlog without paying extra for NSO for more that I probably wouldn't play anyway (otherwise I would already own them).
No what should happen is paying to play games online should stop entirely and people should stop begging for free games.
Zombies ate my Neighbors looks like a great co-op game for me and my bro to play, looks like a good time. Don't know anything about Ghoul Patrol.
Awesome news, I remember somebody on here mentioning they wanted this a few weeks ago, funny how things happen like that.
@AvianBlue Look up DEMONS ATE MY NEIGHBOURS (DAMN) coming in 2022. It is a spritiual sequel, co-devolped by Humanature (ToeJam and Earl team)
Ahh. No online co-op?
So for the people scalping the game the price just went down
Yes! Loved Zombies Ate My Neighbours on the SNES back in the day and only found out about the existence of Ghoul Patrol a few years ago. Was hoping for a SNES online release, but wasn't optimistic with LucasArts not really being a thing anymore, but glad to see Disney haven't completely abandoned their videogame acquisitions.
No online co-op is disappointing, but I'll definitely be picking this up!
This has made my day!
@Tandy255 I don't see the benefit of having them on NSO though, they could be release as a collection like this with more bells and whistles (save-states, rewind features, gallery, sound test mode, boss rush mode, etc.). Them being on NSO means only subscribers could play em and also Disney could yank those games out of NSO at any time if they ever lost the rights to the LucasArts properties.
@John_Koshiro
That would be lovely, but it would probably require them to hire back in people like Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, and Ron Gilbert, as well as Peter Chan and Peter McConnell, or it would be just as much a parody as it is now, what with calling it Lucalfilm Games again. ^^
Alright, Disney. That's awesome and I will buy it, but please bring back the Rogue Squadron Trilogy next!
This is sweet. I'd love to see the LucasArts scumm point and click games come to switch as well!
Zombies Ate My Neighbours is a classic and certainly welcome.
How unfortunate that it has no online co-op... I have dreamed of "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" with online multiplayer so I hope it gets added to the SNES Online if this version does not come with that mode included.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi You make a good point.
I bought Star Wars Racer on Switch. I would buy any Rogue Squadron game. I can’t wait for the new LEGO Star Wars. I would re-buy the Disney Afternoon Collection.
However, I would pass on a Super Star Wars collection (and am probably in the minority here). Playing the games once on NSO would be enough for me.
Cool will check it out. I just got the R type port Dotemu did for android on my Nvidia Shield (£1.60 a fair price), and i loved the Wonderboy remaster they did (the music alone was worth the price).
This is it. The moment I've been waiting for!
I'll buy this as long as it's not overpriced. I've been wanting to share this game with my sons for a long time.
A small detail, but in 2021 I really think they could have a least had the artist go in and update the medical kit graphic to have the cross on a white box rather than that pink colour. And, yes, they'd probably be best also changing the cross colour/design to avoid some copyright/trademark dispute with the Red Cross too--because the Red Cross is apparently real protective of that.
PS. I think it's clearly the Super Nintendo versions that these games are based on, certainly not the Genesis versions that look quite different, and I don't recall it coming out on other platforms.
PPS. Being able to save is a real welcome tweak. I also wish they'd add is a "Really Easy" option too, and one that maybe had it so enemies only spawn once in the map, and once you've killed them that's them done, which would really make things a lot less frustrating than the constantly spawning enemies that just don't let up and feels quite unfair imo.
Disney be using their brains. Noice.
Wow!!! That’s a cool little retro gaming nugget of news!! ZOMBIES ATE MY NEIGHBORS!!! I’m in!!
BTW it's on the switch pre-order page and it's $14.99
@dkxcalibur it's cheap
This re-release (the first since the games appeared on Wii Virtual Console in 2010) includes local co-op, quick-saves, achievements, a gallery of game art, developer interviews, and more. The digital version will cost £11/$14.99 USD on Switch's eShop, the PlayStation and Xbox Stores, Steam, and GOG, and Limited Run Games is handling a physical release later this year.
@kingbk nah the WiiU will always have a place.
Have you guys seen this ZAM WIP mod for Doom 2? Its epic! https://www.moddb.com/mods/zombies-doomed-my-neighbors-mod/downloads
