These schedule lists have been known to be pretty lacklustre in the past, but that's certainly not the case here and we seem to be in for a decent end to 2021. With Mario, Zelda and Splatoon games already confirmed for 2022 as well, things are looking bright.
Which of these games are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments.

I can't wait for Mario Party Superstars! It's something I'm sure a bunch of my friends and I will all pick up, so I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun with it. I'll also definitely get Project Triangle Strategy, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Breath of the Wild 2. There are some great first party releases on the horizons (for my taste at least).
Has been a while since the list of upcoming games has been so packed. Nice to see, especially after 2020 (which was ofc because of Corona)
Super pumped for Metroid Dread. Who knows, I may even try my first WarioWare game next month?!!
So Bayonetta 3 is still in development? Long time since I've heard anything from it.
The future is still looking very bright on the Switch, and we still obviously don't know every game coming in 2022 !
Personally, i'm looking forward for Warioware, Metroid Dread, Mario Party Superstars, Advance Wars 1+2, Mario + Rabbids 2, BOTW 2 and Metroid Prime 4
And maybe Pokémon Diamond remake and Legends Arceus
Gonna be one hell of a end year. Better not buy any more games in the mean time-hey hey Neo World Ends with You, don't gimme that look!!
For a moment I read that as "Major Windows Switch release confirmed".
MARIO PARTY SUPERSTARS!!! I literally cannot WAIT for that one 😃
I'm so hyped for Advance Wars and all the Pokemon titles.
An ACTUAL animal crossing update - Never
Still no date for Metroid Prime 4
Potentially some wonderful stuff here. Bayonetta 3 is the one I'm most eager for if that ever releases. Warioware, Pokemons, and Splatoon 3 are strong maybes for me, once there's more info for them then I might get hyped.
Metroid Prime 4 and Bayo 3 feels insulting to see here at this point.
Guardians of the Galaxy and Metroid Dread are all that's on my list for the rest of this year for Switch.
Not interested in any of them, except the TBA ones and LoZ BotW2
So just keep on looking a Indies for doing what Nintendon't
I'm poor so I can only get Zelda G&W and Pokémon Diamond but everything else looks amazing!
I'm probably buying around 5 of these, and others not on this list. Really looking forward to next few months and beyond, the line up is fantastic!
So far, the only games here I'll definitely buy are Splatoon 3, Metroid Dread, Zelda BOTW2, and Metroid Prime 4. Theresa others on the list I'll most likely get down the line as well but I'll be waiting for, for various reasons.
Definitely getting WarioWare, Metroid, Mario Party and SMTV( which you left out for some reason even though it is included in the European Nintendo release list?). Beyond that I'm interested in Triangle Strategy, Splatoon 3, BotW sequel and Bayo 3
I’m still calling Bayonetta 3 as vapourware.
Metroid Dread looks good and hopefully we’ll get another big first party title before the year is over.
@HamatoYoshi Every month at least one first party title starting in september. I can't call that bad.
@sanderev agree, it’s not bad, I’m just hoping for a surprise…..I’d love another Yoshi game or even a port of Wooly World
It's funny that in the European list SMTV appears as a first party game. Maybe it's because Nintendo is taking care of the distribution here?
Metroid, Zelda, Triangle Strategy are all must buys for me!
I'm excited to have 6 games on this list to look forward to. That's not super common from Nintendo
Wait, "Metroid Prime 4" is a tentative title? Are they going to be using a subtitle for this?
@the_beaver Yes, they are distributing the game in Europe apparently
@ModdedInkling Probably a subtitle, giving MP2 & MP3 both had a subtitle in their name
@HamatoYoshi
It was announced waaaay too early and is taking waaaaaay too long, but what makes you say Bayo 3 is vapourware?
Given that we get regular updates from Kamiya (albeit vague ones) and given that they have Bayo 2 to work from as a framework, I’d say Bayo 3 will likely get released in the next couple years.
Metroid Prime 4 seems much more likely to be vapourware to me.
I'll be getting BotW2, Prime 4, Metroid Dread, and Sparks of Hope.
Why isn't Cruis'n Blast on this list?
Something tells me Bayo 3 would've been here by now if Switch was a stronger console...
@RushDawg I just have this feeling it doesn’t exist beyond a logo simply because in 4 years we haven’t seen anything. No artwork, no plot synopsis……zero
@sketchturner Cruis'n is a Nintendo IP, but Cruis'n Blast itself is published and developped by Raw Thrills
Great lineup. I’m looking forward to almost every game listed!
Out of the known release dates, I'd say Metroid Dread is my most anticipated and will be a day one purchase. I'm interested in most of the list, though most of the other titles I can wait on until a later time.
Metroid Prime 4 is TBA?! Omg that’s on my birthday! Thanks Nintendo!
Does This mean that our holiday window game is Pokemon BDDP? seems like these enough room in the year for maybe one more direct with a surprise december? Bayonetta 3 maybe!?
not likely yea i know
Hmm for this year so far. I am definitely getting Mario party superstars and SMT5. I might get metriod dread and advance wars but I have only gotten into metriod not long ago. I want to play the older games first to understand the story. Advance wars 1 and 2 I already played and beaten but I don’t own 1. I only played it on computer. I have part 2 on the Wii U VC. Legend of zelda and Bayonetta 3 are definite buys. I stopped playing Pokémon when it reached gen 4 although I have new Pokémon snap. Maybe I will get back into Pokémon with these new games but I have too much for my backlog so likely not. Metroid prime 4, like dread I need to play more games in the series before I get it. Triangle strategy I was disappointed in the demo a lot. It’s lost the charm of octopath which is one of my recent favorite rpgs. I hope they improve it and add dual audio otherwise I might skip it. I don’t care about switch oled at all. I might get get that Zelda game and watch because it looks cool and has 4 games on it.
Splatoon 3 = eternal hype!
Maybe project Triangle Strategy & Pokemon Legends Arceus. Really only excited for SMTV. I'm sure some indies will make me hit Purchase, too.
The only things that are on my radar that I will be getting day one for this year for switch are.
I will be getting BD also but unsure if I will get it this year or not. I would have gotten this year but another "game" is being release that day which is something I will not be missing.
Warioware, Mario Party, Brilliant Diamond, Legends Arceus and Mario and Rabbids 2 (providing they code it properly this time!)
Looking great! These are the good times. Unlike the late days of the Wii U or Gamecube, when there would only be a few games to look forward to for the entire year! Enjoy these good times.
I already pre-ordered Switch OLED!
1-I play mostly handheld so the bigger higher end screen will be great
2-I'm still rocking my release day switch so it'll be a battery upgrade for me
3-i have a wife and 5 kids and we all play Nintendo, save files are only allowed on the internal 32GB (you can't save your game on an SD card) between the fact that there's 7 of us and the fact that my kids have played a lot of Minecraft and Lego Worlds and those games have large save files, the upgrade to 64 GB will be a big deal for us
Wouldn't mind at all to see at least one or two more major announcements for the holiday season, such as a Zelda 35th Anniversary compilation and/or Mario Kart 9. What's there isn't bad, but it's a far cry from blowing my socks off. The Switch has quietly had some weak 4th quarters over its tenure in terms of megaton releases beyond its inaugural year.
@The_Pixel_King Who knows? Who cares?
We already knew everything on that list,, what's updated about it?
Bayonetta 1-3 Special Collectors' Edition, thanks.
@sanderev Is this a joke because the lead developer has been annoyed by people saying this?
Splatoon 3, Splatoon 3, Splatoon 3! Gimme, gimme, gimme!
@Lyricana I was being sarcastic, indeed.
The sequel to BOTW is what i look for the most, but I'm starting to think this game will be the swan song for this switch model or the system seller for the next nintendo console whatever it will be.
Just like they did with Twillight Princess and BOTW.
sadly it seens Bayonetta 3 is in development hell or is planned for Switch sucessor, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 problaby is gonna release in holiday 2022.
@GetontheStiix sadly it seens Bayonetta 3 is in development hell or is planned for Switch sucessor.
@RushDawg Metroid Prime 4 got contant hirings, in the E3 2021 Direct Nintendo stated Retro Studios is hard at work on the game, Bayonetta 3 is that a more likely vapoware game
https://youtu.be/NikPrRM4shs
I wonder if they regret title dropping Prime 4 and Bayo 3 so early? Since there's no Switch Pro I'm thinking these two games will be cross-gen with the next console/hybrid. Great lineup though, looking forward to many of these but I wouldn't call 2022 a window, it's more a glass house.
@MasterTrainerPeter Same. It'll be nice playing them again. Plus Splatoon too.
I can’t say I am overly excited about much here except Wario Ware. Will probably get Mario Party….
Kinda surprised at the lack of excitement for Pokémon Legends Arceus. Anyway, that’s the only Nintendo item I’m looking forward to out of that list, since the Switch OLED is the biggest disappointment from Nintendo in a while imo. However, I’m worried that:
-The game is being rushed
-The game will run as poorly as Hyrule Warriors on the severely outdated Switch and Switch OLED hardware
Metroid Dread and AW will do just fine on top of my huge backlog!
The list for games next year is looking absolutely promising. Some things could see delays, but I'm sure we're at least going to see a lot of these games in action next year Who knows which more games we could see in 2022.
Now, a release date for Bayonetta 3 at least...
