Re: Miitomo

@Bolt_Strike... Yeah I know there is no Windows Mobile support "currently"... I'm hopping Nintendo will support the proud ~3% who love it (Or are workplace enforced users of Windows Mobile)

Re: Hardware Classics: Bit Corp Gamate

Man I used to sell these things at Kmart in the 90's.... Gameboy was $199NZD (with Tetris) and this was up $149. So the Mum's used to come in and want the "cheaper" console but the kids would have nothing to do with it..

Re: Timing Of NX Launch Could Help Nintendo Grab Some Of Sony And Microsoft's Market Share, Says Analyst

Ruthven

My very cheap 2c
1. Make the home NX console boring (Std controller, similar h/w specs to PS4/Box1, MUST be x86 inside!!) - Bring on the cross platform 3rd Party software glut, sprinkled by Nintendo AAA highlights.
2. Go "Nintendo" hard on the handheld NX (either x86 or ARM), and whatever other loveys Nintendo can dream up. This could be also used for off screen game streaming ala Wii U, and some well designed Nintendo/3rd Party titles would make use of Home/Handheld NX gaming goodness.
3. Sit back an watch Nintendo rise to the gaming top again

0.1 Oh and make one NintendoID usable-able across all platforms including compatible games and VC games (Wii U, 3DS, HomeNX, HandheldNX)

Will Miitomo work on Windows Mobile 8, 8.1 & 10 Mobile phones?

Re: New Patent Sparks Talk of Potential NX Details

Ruthven

The way I see it is the external memory will be some kind of card similar to the DS/3DS card... the NX "home" console will take this card also but be mainly focused on downloading for games. The card will basically be used for slow/limited download regions and for the "handheld" version of the NX. If Nintendo implements pre-release downloads that will go some way to mitigating slow downloads also.

Re: Video: Say Hello To The SNES Game Which Ships Inside A Game Boy Cartridge

Ruthven

+1 @GauBan & @Capt_N
For years I played more Super Gameboy games than I did SNES games... I still have and love it today. Such a missed opportunity for the Gameboy Player to not include a SGB mode
I still hope that one day Nintendo would write a love letter to Gameboy fans and release a Gameboy Retro (tm) that plays all GB/SGB/GBC/GBA games from the Cartridge... one can only dream!!

Re: Poll: What Do You Want From Nintendo's NX Platform?

Ruthven

The NX needs to be x86 biased Hardware with a standard controller (Wii U Pro Controller would do)... This is for all the third party publishers who just don't put any effort into porting. Nintendo can then concentrate on what it does best and design awesome fun games, and if Nintendo want make a Wii Remote 2 or Gamepad 2 controller for Game immersion as only Nintendo can. The lazy 3rd party developers/publishers will be happy and the Nintendo Hardcore will also be happy; win, win I say

Re: Humble Nindie Bundle Sells Over 37,000 Units in Just 24 Hours

Ruthven

All props to Nintendo for actually getting the **FIRST** Humble Console Bundle out the door, even if it does have a few limitations.
I will forever be eternally optimistic that they can do the same for other regions (inc AU/NZ) in the near future!!
(I'm almost temped to purchase just because its Nintendo, even though I cant use it )

Re: Poll: Nintendo's Year of Multiplayer Gaming on Wii U and 3DS Aims to Bring Us Together Online and At Home

Shoot me down in flames but I'm really looking forward to a New Mario Party... I love playing this with friends and family grouped around the TV.

PS If Nintendo cant figure out how to do "Local 5 Multi-player" in Mario Kart 8, with the GamePad showing its own screen like Sonic Racing has been able to do for the last 2 1/2 years then I really think they missed a golden opportunity to show of the GamePad difference.

Re: Video: Does Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Wii U Offer Anything New?

Ruthven

I got Super Mario Galaxy 2, just because I'm a Nintendo freak (second time as I already have the Wii Disk)... But I really hate the "Nintendo Tax" in New Zealand...
In the eShop It cost me $17 NZD (AUS $13 & USD $10) - What's up with the increase?!? I can get $10USD steam games for ~$12.50 NZD!!

Re: Anniversary: The Nintendo DS is Now 10 Years Old

I loved my release day silver DS Phat as it was just large enough to fit my fat hands, I was soooo bummed when I dropped and broke it Christmas 2012... Replaced with a DSi XL, which fits my hands fine... Looking forward to a New "3DS XL"
