This whole key card thing is really, really stupid, PERIOD! Just do game on cartridge, or code in a box if you want to cheap out but still have something physical. Also Nintendo need to realize, good will from Switch will only last so long, listen to Publishers and make smaller and larger cart sizes available at reasonable pricing.
I'm never buying a keycard... its either the full game on a Cart (I'd even suck a higher price for full game and DLC), or digital download. I'd buy a box with a code in it over a Keycard, you get the shinny box to display/keep and get the digital.... Not some stupid keycard you've forever got to find each time to play the game that doesn't even have the game on it!
@romanista You can use the SNES & NES controllers in the Switch app... It's just unlike the SNES app there is no button combo to simulate Start button, so I have to pick up the console and press home so I can then use the Switch Pro controller again if I want to play something else not in the GB/A app. I just wish it had a physical start button then you could happily use the SNES Controller with any Switch App or game.
I'm SNES controller all the way... but every time I do I realize that Nintendo just lazy ripped all us fans off as there is NO home button or Share button like they put on both the N64 & Sega Controllers!!
Note: Yes I know the SNES games have a "button combination" to simulate the home button, but not every game has this option (Nintendo's own GBA & GB on Switch for instance!), the controller needs a Home button physically baked in!
**Bring out a upgraded HAC-042(-01) version already and fix this mess!!
I love the SNES controller for all my "2D" games but the No home button really bugs me!
I might try my Switch Pro controller if rumble has any major affect on gameplay?
1. I buy all Nintendo First Party games on cartridge, as I don't trust Nintendo to keep any digital shop open!
1.1 I went Digital on Wii-U and that's all but abandoned.
2. I still want to play my games in 20 years time! I still play my massive collection to GB & GBA games today, no "eShop" needed!
3. I share the occasional game with my nephew, then he cons his parents to buy the game if he likes it. (win win for Nintendo)
4. I buy all my cross platform games digital on Xbox, as for better or worse Microsoft seem to support retro and keep stores open (I could be proven wrong!).
5. Nice Box Art for a case can be really impressive to display!
6. I actually like to go off grid once in a while, digital "always connected" games suck then!
Hurry up and Port Wind Waker to the Switch so I can pay Nintendo a third time for the same game!!!
I'm waiting! (Wind Wakers is still my favorite Zelda Game)
I wouldn't say no to Zelda Four Swords (Anniversary Editon & Adventures as well)
@Jokerwolf
Yeah I could play on a N64 emulator for PC... But I'm a relaxed gamer (or couch co-op) 95% of my gaming is from the couch to console. (Switch & XboxOne currently)
I would buy a Game & Watch Gallery collection on the Switch. Great if it had the games in Native Switch mode as well as the old GB/GBA version with the borders and the game at the same time like it was on the Super Gameboy & SNES!
Come on Nintendo, you already got me on these versions below, you know I will buy again!! Game & Watch Gallery (GB) Game & Watch Gallery 2 (GBC) Game & Watch Gallery 3 (GBC) Game & Watch Gallery 4 (GBA) Game & Watch Collection (NDS) Game & Watch Collection 2 (NDS) DSiWare - A few Titles
I would have played though the re-release again this weekend if the promo was outside of USA It's the only Star Wars game I have finished and played through more than once!!
Dam... just realised how much I have paid for MK8 already!! Bring on MK9! (Nintendo are great at fleecing fanboys like me multiple times for the same thing!)
Mario Kart 8 - Digital Mario Kart 8 DLC Bundle Pack 1 & 2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Digital Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Cartridge Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass
Mario Kart DD is still my all-time favorite MK Game, so please bring back: Wario Coliseum & Bowser's Castle from MKDD (And maybe Peach Beach & Rainbow Road too!!) That being said, I have got MK8 with my Pass Ready to go on the 9th!!
I wish the "Switch SNES Controller button ZR = Start" option had been implemented in the new Gameboy & GBA Online Software.
Note: Nintendo could have fixed all this silliness by putting a start button on the Switch SNES Controller in the first place!!
I love using the SNES controller for playing Gameboy games, I have done since the Super Gameboy Days!!
I was probably the only person hoping that the new software version would support the Switch SNES Controller ZR = Start Option working in the new Gameboy and Gameboy Advance Online Software. The "Switch SNES Controller ZR = Start" has only been implemented so far in SNES & NES Online Software. Note: Nintendo could have fixed all this silliness by putting a start button on the Switch SNES Controller in the first place!!
Old skool comment here, when the last three Cups are finally all released and the mandatory updates to follow are rollout out, I hope Nintendo will release a "Complete Edition" Cart with all the DLC (and hopefully all the Mii Costumes unlocked!).
Great for collectors and Mario Kart Fans (oh and Nintendo sales so I can buy MK8/DX (WiiU/Switch Cart & Download) for the 4th time!!)
I'd buy both again, especially Wind Waker as I don't think this version of Zelda ever got the wide audience it deserved begin released on two under rated/preforming Nintendo consoles.
Sales figures from Wiki:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 4.43 million (GameCube)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD 2.35 million (Wii U)
@JayJ Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance was only ever a console game. But your correct, ports of PC games from 90's/early 2000 usually look terrible on a modern console with frustrating control conversion from Keyboard and Mouse.
I think the stairs/background drawing is for stairs going down (shadows), but "they" need him going up for the scene so Mario is drawn to be going up. TLDR: Reused a going down stairs background for a new going up scene.
That is awesome... it makes me want to get off my bum and start my idea of a NES in a ITX form factor case. Original chips salvaged of a power issue dead NES, on a new build ITX motherboard, powered by USB-C!
I absolutely loved MKDD, I must have spent 100+ just racing through all tracks (16) with my young daughter, this was well into the MK Wii years. I would always drive and she loved chucking the items to disrupt the other drivers, and even more she loved "punching" the other drivers as we passed them and stealing an item once in awhile.
I was going digital (about 50/50) on WiiU but have changed to physical for Switch.
I don't trust Nintendo to keep their digital store open long term, so all Nintendo specific/1st party games I'm only getting on Cartridge so I can always play them in the future.
All except for Mario Kart I get both physical and digital so I can actually share with my non MK owing friends!
On my "other" console I am all digital now
I don't want Mii's forced on me in every game, but it has firm place in Multiplayer/Party/Sport games, gives extra character option(s). Awesome in Mario Kart 8(DX)
@generalgorilla19 - I'm one of the strange few who loves both Nintendo & Microsoft... (but not Sony) I would welcome with both arms XCloud on my Switch, so I can play all my Xbox one games on the go.
I'd love XCloud on the Switch with access to the lighter games in your Xbox digital account. And a Platform specific (xCloud) Game Pass option to try other Xbox games on your non Xbox console.
I love the SNES style controller and as I believe its the best for any "2D" game.
I have numerous different versions including the NGC version, but since the Wii, Nintendo controllers need a "Home" button, just having "Start" button docent cut it anymore!!
/Rant Over
I love off TV Play & VC gaming aspect... (But even in some VC games you get forced to use the GamePad, ie Zelda OoT with rumble only on on GamePad, not the Pro controller ) I hate been forced to use it by some games, when for long gaming sessions the Wii U Pro Controller is more comfortable.

I hate been forced to use it by some games, when for long gaming sessions the Wii U Pro Controller is more comfortable.
