From Mii to you
After all the hype and anticipation surrounding Nintendo's move into mobile, it's perhaps a little surprising that the game which kicks off this new era for the Japanese veteran isn't really a game at all; Miitomo has more in common with the likes of Twitter and Facebook than it does Super Mario and Zelda. Despite expectations being...

Guide Here's How To Get Miitomo Early On iOS And Android
Fun with the Japanese release
Miitomo is out in Japan, and the surprising thing is that despite the regional exclusivity, it's possible to play the "game" entirely in English. Doing so requires a bit of additional legwork and (please read this disclaimer twice or maybe even three times) you won't be able to use your Nintendo Account unless you...

News Don't Expect To See Future Super Mario Games On Mobile, Suggests Miyamoto
"Mobile apps will not be the primary path"
When it comes to Nintendo's mobile offerings, it's safe to say that the general consensus amongst fans is something along the lines of "yeah, good effort, but not what we're looking for". Despite this, Mario Kart Tour in particular has seen considerable success over the last few years with no signs of...
Feature From Famicom Disk System To Switch - The Evolution Of Nintendo's Miis
Love Mii do
Ah, the Mii. We remember when we first made our own Miis back in 2006. Back then the most character customisation we had experienced was probably with The Sims, so making Miis of our friends, family and favourite video game characters was a fun pastime. It's a real shame, then, that Nintendo stepped away from their Miis, presumably in an...

News Mii Studio Provides An Easier Way To Create Miis
Mii Two
Nintendo's cartoon avatars, known as Miis have been around since the Nintendo Wii was unleashed back in 2006. Over the years we've seen Miis being used creatively in many games including Wii Sports, Miitopia, Miitomo, as well as StreetPass and Miiverse. Many had assumed that the writing was on the wall for Miis when Miiverse was...
News Miitomo, Nintendo's Original Mobile App, Passes Away
We hardly knew ye
Miitomo, brainchild of mobile game producer DeNA, has passed away. It was just over two years old. The cause of death is currently unknown; however, it is believed that the de-emphasizing of Miis on the Nintendo Switch – as well as Nintendo’s increasing focus on adapting traditional games such as Mario and Animal Crossing for...

Life after Miitomo
Miitomo may be coming to an end on 9th May, but that doesn't mean all your little Mii characters will be lost forever. In fact, Nintendo is planning to introduce a new web browser-based application that will enable you to edit and customise your little pals even when the Miitomo servers have been switched off. According...
Soapbox Miitomo's Days Are Numbered, But Its Death Was Written In The Stars From The Start
Exit stage-left for the Mii
Soapbox features enable our individual writers to voice their own opinions on hot topics, opinions that may not necessarily be the voice of the site. In this piece, editor Dom takes a look back on the forgotten first child of Nintendo's mobile marriage and why its surprisingly the semi-social network even survived this...
News Miitomo Meets Its End On 9th May
*sad trumpet*
When Nintendo announced that it would be bringing games to mobile devices, the industry was awash with excitement over the potential franchises that we would soon be seeing in app form. It was a rather odd move, then, when Nintendo announced that its first game would be the social app Miitomo. Sort of a social network, sort of a game,...
Soapbox It Took Nintendo To Turn Me Into A Smartphone Gamer
Oh, the irony
I love smartphones. From the very first moment I scooped up my T-Mobile G1 (AKA: the HTC Dream) way back in 2008, I knew this piece of technology would change my life forever. Over the years I've changed smartphones more often than I have my socks (that's not actually an exaggeration, which is why my wife and kids find it so hard to...

Feature Getting Friendly in Surprising Ways With Miitomo
Knowing Mii, Knowing You
The pressure has been on Nintendo for many years from some fans (and not to mention shareholders) to create games and apps for smart devices. It resisted for quite some time but a partnership with DeNA was announced in early 2015; thoughts of a Mario endless runner sprang to mind, but Nintendo's first entry into the crowded...

One of those games that would be very successful only in Japan.
A game? Doesnt sound like it.
I was hoping the whole wii/mii cross eyed b*stards were gonna be jettisoned for NX but it looks like they'll never let it go now.
Will Miitomo work on Windows Mobile 8, 8.1 & 10 Mobile phones?
Nintendo's core audience in not the Smartphone market.
@Ruthven I hope so.
Releasing tomorrow in the west I believe
@zool
I never has and never will
I don't have any miitomo friends. Please don't reject me and be my friend.
@Ruthven It's only on Android and iOS.
@Bolt_Strike... Yeah I know there is no Windows Mobile support "currently"... I'm hopping Nintendo will support the proud ~3% who love it (Or are workplace enforced users of Windows Mobile)
A future update should include the ability to customize your Mii's room. Please add this function! It gets redundant when all you can do is answer questions, win clothes(or candy, which is frankly useless) take and edit pictures, or buy clothes.
When wii it come to Norway, sweden or Denmark? if ever,.
I love this game
It's bloody terrible. Not what I would call a game. I'm not against mobile games, just this sort of mobile game.

This gamebreally requires some creative liberties to enjoy. But more Switch integration can definitely increase the longevity of this game.
I wish I could still get this! It looks so cool! I’m sad they discontinued it before I got an iPad.
