Re: Talking Point: Wii U and Third-Party Inconsistencies Pose Questions for Console Owners

Ruthven

I love Nintendo and I love my Wii U.
But I will have to get some (Quite a few actually) games on Steam (I refuse to purchase another console) as third party support for Nintendo is crap… It can’t be that hard to port to the Wii U with the Wii U Pro Controller being so similar to Xbox/PS controllers.

With the above said… I still mostly play Nintendo Games and I get the most enjoyment out of first party Nintendo titles... And I have a very limited gaming budget
It’s very disappointing when I games I really want (Skyrim/Dragon Age/Doom 3 BFG) don’t come to Nintendo, but that’s why I will always have a PC/Steam as my “back-up” system.

Re: Nintendo And SEGA Have Yet To Reveal Another Exclusive Sonic Title

Leave Mario Kart and Sonic Racing alone (Well maybe the "Stars" can crossover as cameos only) as they are two separate racing types; Kart vs. Racers
A Nintendo and Sonic driven (pun intended) Racer say called "Nintendo Racers" featuring Mario Kart / Sonic Racers / F-Zero / DK Racing / plus whatever DLC makes sense (Namco Racers?) with all sorts of racing types and all sorts of courses (water/air/off road etc.), sort of like a Smash Bros of racing.

Re: Feature: Celebrating Ten Years of The Wind Waker

I absolutely loved this game and have played it through three times over the years. Like Gaz Plant even though I had the NES and SNES and N64 it was the first Zelda game I pre-ordered and played through to the end. It is like playing a beautiful cartoon, I’m so happy its getting HD love. (Nintendo please make use it’s got rumble and works with the Wii U pro controller for that full GCN old school experience)

Re: Wii U and 3DS Online Connection Rates Exceed 80%

Ruthven

I live in New Zealand an our internet is overpriced with relatively high ping rates... but sometimes the only way to purchase a game is online and/or via DLC as not all games are fairly represented in physical stores.
Another thing the Wii U is very picky about its routers, as when upgrading to 2.1.0 the Wii U would fail and even manual settings (as recommended by Nintendo AU support agent) would not work (router works fine with Wii/DSi/xBox360/PS3/PC’s/Android’s in house), in the end I had to borrow another router just to download and install the patch

Re: Nintendo Launches Wii U Virtual Console Trial Compaign Today

Ruthven

Got it this morning and love it.
Not looking forward to the Aussie (NZ) eShop charging $6.50...
Hopefully as I read else were when the virtual shop is finally open you can re-download the Wii virtual console games you have already purchased, to the Wii U upgraded for the Wii U controller for only $1.00 (NES) or $1.50 (SNES)

Re: Poll: Which Colour Wii U Would You Prefer?

BLACK... I got a launch White Wii and changed to a Black Wii as soon as it come out, even though it was a VERY painful process as there is no official way of moving all saves and settings.
If Nintendo do launch the back Wii U later at least make it EASY to transfer your saves and settings to the new console.

Re: Feature: The Evolution of Nintendo's Controllers

Ruthven

I’m still in love with the GCN Controller; I still use my WaveBird for Wii games that support it. I’m bitterly disappointed in Nintendo for not making a WaveBird Wii U (for all the cross platform goodness wii will miss out on) ... as the Classic Controller Pro just does not cut it.

Re: Australia Gets Chance to Win Mario 3DS Consoles

Try living in NZ (New Zealand) and being a Nintendo Fanboy like me... It wasn’t until Nintendo AU took over NZ a few years ago, that we finally started getting the AU promotions (with NZ tacked on the end). PS: Sony calls NZ a “Playstation Nation”, most “Hard Core” gamers in NZ just laugh when you even mention Nintendo.
