@MrCanzine Yeah I know DOOM 3 BFG Edition has DOOM, DOOM II, DOOM 3, and DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, and The Lost Mission... But wouldn’t it be nice to replay DOOM 64 and have off Screen play on all included DOOM games, would that be a sweet extra for Nintendo and DOOM fans like myself
I love Nintendo and I love my Wii U.
But I will have to get some (Quite a few actually) games on Steam (I refuse to purchase another console) as third party support for Nintendo is crap… It can’t be that hard to port to the Wii U with the Wii U Pro Controller being so similar to Xbox/PS controllers.
With the above said… I still mostly play Nintendo Games and I get the most enjoyment out of first party Nintendo titles... And I have a very limited gaming budget
It’s very disappointing when I games I really want (Skyrim/Dragon Age/Doom 3 BFG) don’t come to Nintendo, but that’s why I will always have a PC/Steam as my “back-up” system.
I love backwards compatibility… I’m not going to throw away may 30+Wii games just because I have a shiny new Wii U… Still wish I could play all my Classic GCN games (from the disk) though
Leave Mario Kart and Sonic Racing alone (Well maybe the "Stars" can crossover as cameos only) as they are two separate racing types; Kart vs. Racers A Nintendo and Sonic driven (pun intended) Racer say called "Nintendo Racers" featuring Mario Kart / Sonic Racers / F-Zero / DK Racing / plus whatever DLC makes sense (Namco Racers?) with all sorts of racing types and all sorts of courses (water/air/off road etc.), sort of like a Smash Bros of racing.
I absolutely loved this game and have played it through three times over the years. Like Gaz Plant even though I had the NES and SNES and N64 it was the first Zelda game I pre-ordered and played through to the end. It is like playing a beautiful cartoon, I’m so happy its getting HD love. (Nintendo please make use it’s got rumble and works with the Wii U pro controller for that full GCN old school experience)
I live in New Zealand an our internet is overpriced with relatively high ping rates... but sometimes the only way to purchase a game is online and/or via DLC as not all games are fairly represented in physical stores.
Another thing the Wii U is very picky about its routers, as when upgrading to 2.1.0 the Wii U would fail and even manual settings (as recommended by Nintendo AU support agent) would not work (router works fine with Wii/DSi/xBox360/PS3/PC’s/Android’s in house), in the end I had to borrow another router just to download and install the patch
This is what I have found for the line up:
January: Balloon Fight (available now!)
February: F-Zero
March: Punch-Out Featuring Mr. Dream
April: Kirby's Adventure
May: Super Metroid
June: Yoshi
July: Donkey Kong
Got it this morning and love it. Not looking forward to the Aussie (NZ) eShop charging $6.50... Hopefully as I read else were when the virtual shop is finally open you can re-download the Wii virtual console games you have already purchased, to the Wii U upgraded for the Wii U controller for only $1.00 (NES) or $1.50 (SNES)
BLACK... I got a launch White Wii and changed to a Black Wii as soon as it come out, even though it was a VERY painful process as there is no official way of moving all saves and settings. If Nintendo do launch the back Wii U later at least make it EASY to transfer your saves and settings to the new console.

I’m still in love with the GCN Controller; I still use my WaveBird for Wii games that support it. I’m bitterly disappointed in Nintendo for not making a WaveBird Wii U (for all the cross platform goodness wii will miss out on) ... as the Classic Controller Pro just does not cut it.
For old timers like me, gaming on the 3DS for long periods is uncomfortable and a pain to squint at when playing DS/DSi Games. I too would love a 3DS XL (with extra Circle Pad, and extra shoulder pads)
Try living in NZ (New Zealand) and being a Nintendo Fanboy like me... It wasn’t until Nintendo AU took over NZ a few years ago, that we finally started getting the AU promotions (with NZ tacked on the end). PS: Sony calls NZ a “Playstation Nation”, most “Hard Core” gamers in NZ just laugh when you even mention Nintendo.

Re: Bethesda: Wii U Is "Not On Our Radar" Right Now
I’d by Skyrim Legendary Edition on the Wii U, the touchpad can easily emulate the keyboard, maps and inventory.
Re: John Carmack: Doom 3 BFG Edition Would Be Great On Wii U, But There's Not Enough Interest
@MrCanzine I totally get the “WiiU tax” feeling… When it comes to most ports we pay more for less content

I’d by Doom 3 BFG Edition for Wii U.
If it also included off screen play of Doom & Doom II (plus maybe Doom 64), that would be the icing on the top.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Team Talk GamePad Features, Track Design And F-Zero
Double Dash will always have a special place in my heart... Bring on DD mode and heaps of DLC racers and tracks from outside of the Mario Universe!!
Re: Miiverse Update Doubles Character Limit for Posts
About time...even old school SMS texting has had 160 cha's from the begining.
Re: Microsoft: If You're Backwards Compatible, You're Really Backwards
I would even pay another $150 on top of the Wii U price to beable to play all my GCN games (Wii U Retro (tm))

Re: New Super Luigi U Will Be Available As A Standalone Packaged Game
Super pumped about this... I most likely will get both if I can get the very sexy physical copy in NZ.

Re: Wii U System Update Is Now Live
Yay, I can’t use my Wii U online again, until I borrow another router because the Wii U sucks at recognising mine
