Re: UK Charts: Hyrule Warriors Drops 14 Places While Animal Crossing Returns To Winning Ways

From GamesIndustry.biz which is the real info on the charts and not this clickbait story:

The other big winner of the week was Nintendo Switch. With PS5 and Xbox Series S and X almost entirely missing from shelves, Nintendo swooped in with an influx of new console stock and bundles. There was also some deals to be had and, as a result, boxed Switch game sales were up 33% last week. In fact, 9% more Switch games were sold during Black Friday 2020 compared with the same period in 2019.

Switch games accounted for over 38% of all boxed games sold during Black Friday week. The big seller was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which rose to No.3 after a 58% weekly sales rise (coming on the back of a 36% rise the week before). It was followed closely by Mario Kart 8: Deluxe at No.4 (sales up 62% week-on-week). Other key Switch sellers were Minecraft at No.8 (sales up 26%) and Super Mario 3D All Stars at No.9 (up 54%).

Re: UK Charts: Paper Mario Takes A Slight Fall As Animal Crossing Returns To Second

Rob3008

@BANJO GamesIndustry.biz shared some more sales info which is below. I really wish Nintendo Life would start adding these to the articles...

The other big game of last week was Paper Mario: The Origami King for Nintendo Switch, which suffered a similar week-on-week drop of 64%. The game falls from No.2 to No.4 as a result. This second week drop means that it is now the second fast-selling Paper Mario game behind 2007's Super Paper Mario on Nintendo Wii (last week it was the tracking ahead of all previous Paper Mario games). Note: digital data is not included in this chart, and The Origami King is available via the Nintendo eShop download store, whereas Super Paper Mario was only available physically, so true sales comparisons are not currently possible.

Re: Nintendo Provides Another Update About Its Development Schedule

I think it's more the lack of communication from Nintendo that's the most frustrating thing. Sony and Microsoft are not only releasing a tonne of games this year, but new consoles, yet Nintendo continues to be completely silent.

If they even said we had games X, Y and Z planned for this year but they'll likely be delayed until 2021 due to Covid it would quell a lot of the discontent Nintendo fans are currently feeling.
