Super Monkey Ball

Brian Matt - the voice of the original announcer for the Super Monkey Ball games - is at it again seemingly teasing some sort of exciting news related to Sega's long-time series.

In an Instagram post on 8th September - showing the voice actor playing Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD on a friend's Switch, Brian mentioned how this month would "be amazing for what's to come". Noticeably the post included tags for Sega and Nintendo Switch.

Playing a friend’s Switch. SuperMonkeyBall of course! I need to stop shouting out “Ready, Go!” You all understand. September will be amazing for what’s to come.

So what could be happening later this month? Followers of Brian seem to think a Monkey Ball game could be revealed.

This follows on from a comment Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi made in June, when he said he would "try to do Monkey Ball more" as he's heard it has a good reputation in the west, and comments from Brian - suggesting he had recorded lines for a new Monkey Ball game.

Sega has already confirmed it will be at this year's (online) Tokyo Game Show, which runs from 24th - 27th September. According to its schedule, there'll be a special 60th-anniversary event on 25th September and "other live stream broadcasts" bringing viewers the latest information. Maybe we'll hear something then?
