Colourful, intense shoot 'em ups are still a staple in gaming, ideal for unwinding or getting hyped up, whatever takes your fancy. The eShop, on both Wii U and 3DS, has had a few strong shooters to date, but there's definitely room for more.
For fans of the genre there's some good news, as Hyperlight EX now has a final release date on New 3DS; it'll be out on 1st December in North America and Europe, with a price tag of $5.49 / €5.49 / £4.99.
With multiple modes, control options and stereoscopic 3D support, this one's certainly quite tempting. Let us know if it's on your radar.

This looks pretty cool. Might get it depending on reviews. Reminds me of Geometry Wars at first glance, which is something I always wanted on 3DS.
It's no accident that the games logo reminds me of Metroid Prime.
Looks good, been wanting a good shoot'em up for the 3ds.
theres the closest yer getting to hyper light drifter folks
With the exception of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Binding of Isaac, this game seems as though it actually uses the capabilities of the New 3DS.
Good trailer music = Insta buy
Except for Legend of Kusakari, damn that trailer music was ear-grading.
So . . . another Geometry Wars clone?
True. A Geometry clone. But it still looks rather cool. Even though I prefer autoscrolling shoot em ups.
There has only been like 5 real shoot em ups released on the gba, ds and 3ds. If you guys want to play great shoot em ups there are a LOT on these systems:
NES
PC-engine
Megadrive
PS1
Neo geo
And then the shoot em up genre died in the late 90s. Too bad....
I'm going to pick this up. I don't have any shootem ups on my system. It will look sweet in 3d
Watching the Video of this game makes me wish Jeff Minter would remake Tempest 2000 for 3ds. Wow would that be fun
