Hold on, it's May on Sunday? We're a little bit confused about that here at Nintendo Life Towers — how are we already in the fifth month of 2022? Blimey. Anyway, after the release date chaos of last week, this week has been decidedly more steady. Reggie Fils-Aimé's SXSW talk is now available, and in it, he reveals how the legendary Satoru Iwata's death affected his decision to leave Nintendo. We've got some tips from Nintendo on how to deal with Switch battery issues. And Yuji Naka claims that he was removed as Balan Wonderworld director by Square Enix in a pretty revealing Twitter thread.
Also, for you lovely Europeans out there, we've highlighted our picks from the Spring into Action sale on Switch. There are thousands of deals, so go check them out, but don't blame us if you spend all of your pennies!
Now it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

This weekend I’ll be doing my best to resist the charms of Hades as I hit the 3DS eShop and start downloading some essentials that’ll be disappearing next year. There’s still quite some time before the shop closes, but I don’t want to leave it until the last minute, download dozens of games in a mad rush, and then never actually play the things!
I’ve got my eye on Game Freak’s HarmoKnight this weekend. If it’s even half the game that Pocket Card Jockey is, it’s sure to shoot into my top 10 3DS games ever. Have a good one, everyone!

On Switch I recently re-downloaded Thimbleweed Park, as it was sitting in my backlog of shame and I fancy a bit of old-school adventure gaming. I'm sticking solely to touchscreen controls, though, using the handy stylus they gave away with copies of Brain Training here in the UK. So far I'm having a blast with it and enjoying the rather slow pace as well.
Elsewhere I'm still working through Shadow of the Tomb Raider and have quite a few films / chapters to go in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, so ultimately I'll have games to suit any mood.

Hello folks! This weekend, I’ll be playing a bit of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. I bagged it in the eShop sale this week and, quite frankly, I’m embarrassed it’s taken me this long to own it. There are some games on there I could probably do without, but simply having the likes of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 all in one place is a bit of a miracle. I’m still not very good at it though…
Over on the PS5, I’ve picked up Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition in a recent sale, and it’s absolutely marvellous. I played through the OG game when it launched on the PS4 and this new edition takes things to the next level. It’s probably my favourite entry to the series and I really can’t wait to see where Capcom goes with the next game!

Hello! So, I'm stuck in a bit of a video game rut. Nothing I pick up is sticking, and I've got a little while until anything I want is coming out. I'm holding out for a bit on some eShop sale purchases, too. So it's back to the old comforts of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, which I really only played for a few hours last week. So I made no real progress because there are too many sidequests. Let's do better this weekend.
One little flash of inspiration I've had, though, is to replay Klonoa: Empire of Dreams. I never actually beat the GBA game back in the day, so this is my chance to change that, and it's good preparation for the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil is one of my favourite platformers of all time, so being able to play a polished-up version is amazing. I hope you all have a good weekend, folks!

I am still on an epic journey to find Ciri in The Witcher 3. I now have over 70 hours in that game, and I feel like it's never going to end. It has such an enormous world, filled with side-quests to the brim that will keep me busy for many weekends to come (lucky me!).
But I also just got my Switch OLED, which gave me the motivation to start a proper playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Man, I've been struggling to keep my hands away from it. It has such a good and original story and is super easy to get lost in. I'm definitely looking forward to sinking tons of hours into that game as well. Also also, Nintendo Switch Sports just released, and my little brother is coming over, so we're definitely going to be battling out in all the sports over today and tomorrow! It's safe to say I have a busy weekend ahead of me gaming wise.

The A500 Mini is still going strong. Things are looking up in Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe with my team clearly dominating the entire second division, possibly with a promotion this weekend. I made the mistake of firing up Lost Patrol and I now remember how this game taught me war is not “so much fun” way back in the early 90’s. But you’re not on Amiga Life, so on the Nintendo side of things I am very happy to at last be playing the intriguing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, the “was already bought before the review was out” Ganryu 2, and of course Nintendo Switch Sports. Shout-out to Push Square for my four accidental PS Vita game pick-ups!
Game of the week is Layer Section & Galactic Attack S-Tribute, which is just a great excuse not to simply write RayForce. Me and Taito, we go back, since Space Invaders. And who knows… maybe RayStorm shows up on Switch one of these days.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

Still playing through Disco Elysium at the moment. Started slowly and took me a while to really get into it but been making some good progress now in the last few days. It’s quite interesting. Will probably take me a few more days at least to finish it off.
I’ve also put 50+ hours into The Battle Cats Unite over the last week. Think I’m just about ready to move on from it now but will still be playing a bit more over the weekend.
Aside from that, just the usual in The Binding of Isaac (working on my second save file) and Touhou Spell Bubble (online multiplayer).
This weekend I will continue with Assassins Creed and play some Double Dragon + Mario Kart!
I’ll be playing switch sport the whole weekend together with some Mario kart online races
On ps5 its still Horizon Forbidden West
Out There. Was on offer in the eShop.
The focus this time will be on Xbox, maybe some MCC, Halo 5 or Halo Infinite before Season 2 begins on Tuesday.
If I load up my Switch this weekend, perhaps some Switch Sports or FE Three Houses.
Currently enjoying the game, "My Horrible Neighbors are Moving After 2 Years of Misery". Probably the best game I've ever played. Would easily give it a 10/10. I also promised myself that if they ever moved, I would try going without screens for a month, so...no video games for a month for me starting tomorrow. Gonna see what that's like. Maybe I'll have a new appreciation for games when i come out of it. I could really use it since I've been quite blah about games lately.
I can play stuff today though, so if I do, it's going to be some more Going Under. I've really been enjoying this silly little roguelite. I'm about halfway through it. I just got to the part where I have to do harder versions of the dungeons.
Finally got the physical copy of Chrono Cross Radical Dreamers. Gonna play the heck out of it this weekend.
Saving electricity this weekend so carrying on reading a little princess and maybe the railway children xx
Playing fire emblem fates birthright on my 3DS. Not liking it as much as awakening so far but still a great game.
Gonna finally start yakuza 5 on my ps4/5. Only have 5, 6, LaD and dead souls left to play. Played all other games including the 2 judgment games and fist of the north star already.
On xbox I might start mass effect 3, and next week I’ll play yoku’s island express.
Gonna be swapping between Kirby and The Forgotten Land and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna this weekend.
A little bit of Mario Galaxy on 3D All-stars. I'm playing it for the first time in almost 15 years and it's a nostalgia overload. It's one of my all time favourite games and it's held up marvellously.
A little bit of Ultimate Tiger-Heli. Trying to master the stages of Tiger Heli individually in Arcade Challenges, so I can attempt a 1CC. I doubt I'll ever succeed at it but it's fun trying.
A lot of Rocket League. I continue to be impressed by how much my game has improved. I'm pulling off high air clearances and wall shots with such aplomb. But after 1200 hours of playing it, if I wasn't rather good at it there would be something wrong.
I finished Ni No Kuni II last weekend and so this week I’ve started Immortals Fenyx Uprising which is pretty entertaining. It serves as a good fix for my Zelda itch.
Retroarch - Vita
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Switch all day long.
I have obtained 10 Espers but still no updated info from Geomancer Yugelu about locked area of Henne Mines.
I'm playing through the prequel trilogy in Lego Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga.
Going to try and get some Paradise Killer in.
Continuing the dungeon delve in Mary Skelter 2.
And I have an itch for Civilization VI - which means that might end up being the only game I play this weekend.
In crochet today, still working on that sweater.
Playing SMT 4 on 3ds and continuing to read through Michael Moorcock’s oeuvre with the Corum series, starting with The Knight of the Swords.
I'm still playing Gear.Club Unlimited 2. I completed the main game and the Porsche DLC, so just have the Edndurance DLC to go. That really changes the game, though, making it much more realistic as you have to consider pit strategies, fuel load, etc.
When not doing that, I will probably be playing Elden Ring on the Xbox, or Dynamite Dux on the Commodore 64 for a bit of a retro fix.
It's probably going to be a very Steam Deck-focused weekend... much like this past week has been. Rogue Legacy 2 just came out a couple days ago, so I've been playing a lot of that. I loved the first game, and so far, 2 just improves on it in every way! I'll also play more Horizon Zero Dawn on there since I've been enjoying that as well.
I should really get back to Lego Star Wars on my PS5 soon. I don't have that much left in terms of episodes at least. On 3DS, I started up The Mysterious Murasame Castle again today, so we'll see if I can manage to stick to it for once or if I drop it after getting stuck like I usually do. I also need to get back to Xenosaga Episode II on my PS2 soon. I'll probably get in a bit of Chocobo GP on Switch, but I get the feeling I'll be focusing more on other platforms for a little while. My Switch usually gets all my attention, so it's probably good for me to give it a break.
I don't have much time to play at the moment. I just bought Arise: A Simple Story on PS5. A nice, short and atmospheric game to relax to. I'll probably practice the new Wave 1 Mario Kart 8 tracks too.
In the early hours of the morn, I saw some gold glistening from one my long-forgotten drawers. It turns out it was the November 2011 issue of Edge magazine. With Skyward Sword emblazoned on the cover, with a huge Zed (or Zee, to our transatlantic cousins). I read the review of Skyward Sword, as I am currently replaying the switch version. And I noted the ‘10’ at the end of the review, and I was surprised because time seems to have judged this Zelda harshly. But oh my, were they right! In this same issue Dark Souls was reviewed, and as I was reading I expected another 10. Because of the prestige of Dark Souls, and it’s subsequent impact on gaming. But it got a 9. Which is a masterpiece in Edge’s notoriously harsh scoring (at least at the time). I just wanted to share that I am enjoying Skyward Sword at the minute, and even in light of BOTW, it remains a masterpiece.
Stars lining up into an unholy amount of free time at home by my standards for the next few days have led to an equally unlikely opportunity window of bringing over and using my PS4 here as well - would you believe it's the first time this console has seen these walls since its purchase in late 2016?😆 The extra lackluster mobile internet as of late may encourage me to spend some time even with the titles I can normally play through Vita, but I envision the bulk of this ultrarare "home console streak" going into the library items that: a) don't control well in RP, b) aren't on Switch and c) wouldn't be expected to work well enough on my laptop. NFS Payback, Days Gone, Horizon and Bloodborne, Deep Rock Galactic and Just Cause 4, possibly Control and Onrush - here I come!
But I'd be lying if I claimed that Switch didn't still retain its rightful place in my weekend plans - with more NFS, Rune Factory 5, DQB, DerQ, Fuga, Saints Row 4, Xenoblade duo, Immortals, Bioshock 2, Don't Starve and Welcome to Primrose Lake at the estimated forefront. Even the handhelds and the laptop are anything but ruled out by default - from the former's respective gigs like Endless Frontier and Gravity Rush to the latter's like ESO, Just Cause 2, FFXIII and Assassin's Creed, I audaciously prep myself up for quite a buffet again. After all, even fulfilling a mere fraction of all the aforesaid ambitions will leave me a good deal more impressions and memories richer - and that's the whole end goal of gaming weekend time to plan in the first place.
Gonna be playing Slipstream really enjoying it but it can be quite difficult looks great on a monitor also some good old crazy taxi on Dreamcast
Paying Skul: The Hero Slayer.
Great game that I highly recommend to anyone who loved Dead Cells.
Great art, music and gameplay.
Also playing Kirby with my family.
Good to see so much Xenoblade Chronicles happening on staff! I’m still working my way through the 3DS port, having just reached Makna Forest, which is surprisingly pretty on that low-res 3DS screen.
Also fiddling with Super Metroid on NSO. Is it as good as Zero Mission? So far I’m not sure, but it is good.
Skyrim, but think I might finish the current main quest I’m on and then pick up something else for a bit, come back to Skyrim in a few weeks or months. Might go for Earthbound SNES, first of the bioshock games or one of my other backlogged games.
Maybe some mk8deluxe with the kids - tried the battle mode last weekend and seems pretty enjoyable.
Oh and Slay the Spire on iPad. So addictive.
Looking forward (with a touch of sadness) to finishing Disco Elysium this weekend, and then hoping to forget everything about it so that I can play it again soon. It’s great.
And, for a completely opposite gaming experience, I’m getting a taste of what I’ve been missing for the last 30 years by playing some old Kirby games. The level victory dances are cute and I’ll probably have the jaunty music stuck in my head forever now.
Wishing y’all a great weekend!
Nintendo Switch Sports... if Tesco had any in stock.
I've decided to start playing through the Legend of Heroes series. Unfortunately my PSP went kaput a while ago so I've dusted off my old laptop to play Trails in the Sky.
Aside from that I'm also playing Pokemon Ultra Sun on 2DS and Star Wars: Republic Commando on Switch.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Great Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams
Just got puyo puyo tetris 2 so probably that
Just done playing ninja saviors, the last boss fight is hectic but isn't that hard, just throw the enemy up to the boss protective glass and you're done, the 5th boss is waay harder than the last boss.
After that I've been playing with the new characters yaksha, while she has... bountiful personalities, she's kind of hard to play, slow movement, short reach, and her air jump is short (unless using energy), but the game is so fun that I finished it again using her 😃
Also want to play 13 sentinels this night.
Edit: Can confirm, the ninja is the most fun characters in ninja saviors, I just played the character and man, his booster attack can cover half of the screen. I think I'm gonna finish the game for the third time with this characters.
Continuing my juggling of Triangle Strategy, LEGO Skywalker Saga, NSO Paper Mario, and Picross S5
Splatoon 2 has taken over my life for the first time since I got it back in May 2020 so I'll definitely be playing that (going to try and get all the Hero Weapons and reach X Rank in at least one mode before 3 comes out!).
Apart from that, I'll be playing some Smash Ultimate, Spanky's Quest and Great Ace Attorney Adventures to round everything off.
Pullblox. Wii u
I restarted Metroid Dread, I still think that is one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had.
I have almost exclusively been playing games a second time instead of reaching for new experiences. It does something different in my brain and it's just a good time
I've been trying to get in the triangle strategy for 2 weeks so I don't think it's gonna happen. Talk about overrated.
Nobody saves the world, but on playstation because I like trophies
It's a special zelda but not zelda weekend!
Been playing both Ocean's Heart and Nier Replicant and they're both what i want in 2D and 3D zelda kinda games
@GregamanX Horrible neighbors moving out is my favorite game too! Right next to My Horrible Roommate is Moving.
In UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[cl-r], I completed "Festival Flames" chronicle and cleared Arcade Mode playing as Enkidu. In Corpse Party, I finished Chapter 4 on clear end. After that, I cleared Extra Chapters 4 and 13, and now I'm at the beginning of Chapter 5. In Super Mario Odyssey, I earned a lot of Energy Moons in Mushroom Kingdom. Well, that's all what I've played on this week. Have a nice gaming weekend, everyone.
Animal Crossing
Kirby
And multiple games on my new Steam Deck.
This weekend I’ll squeeze in some Slay the Spire, to fulfill my Backlog Club obligations (but mostly because it’s such a habit-forming game). I’ve beaten Act 3 with everyone but the the Watcher, and I haven’t even come close with her yet - still trying to find that effective deck strategy for her.
I’ll also find time for some Arcade Archives games, and maybe I’ll dig out my SNK Anniversary Collection or R-Type Final 2 cart for some short bursts of high score chasing and unlocking of ships.
This week I will be mostly playing
Fire Emblem Awakening
❗️Finishing off 'PokéMon Black 2' and about to get the Expansion Pass for 🛡 to get the remaining exclusive Super Pkm to transfer to 🗡
Twisted Metal 2 (PS) - I'm still clearing different characters, up next is Shadow.
CarneyVale: Showtime (Windows Phone) - Still not put alot of time into this one yet.
ExZeus 2 (Windows Phone) - Still high score chasing.
I will be rotating between Nintendo Switch Sports, Splatoon 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Another week surviving work, yay for relaxation and gaming, that gaming will come in the form of re-playing Sonic Mania Plus. Outside of that, I'm planning to once again play through Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and of course some Super Smash Bros: Ultimate as well. Maybe toss in some races in Asphalt 9, as it's been a while since I've played that game.
Got Roguebook Deluxe day one and so far really enjoying it—-I’ve also set my eyes on Deck of Ashes but yet to bite and buy it. As a fan of Slay the Spire over Monster Train, should I spring for DOA or Griftlands?—both are on sale at the moment.
Iconoclasts on the Switch. Beautiful pixel art and interesting story.
Happy gaming everyone!
i completed my Metroid Dread with 232 missile, 12 Power Power Bombs e 11 Energy Tanks with 86%of all itens collected, now i waiting for my copy of Kirby and the Forgotten Land to arrive and planing to do 100% on the game.
Welp, FedEx and Walmart screw job on switch sports. So only paper jam, oceans heart, and zombie army 4. I'm also playing a little of the original Contra since the nerd inspired me to go back to it after his latest video.
Switch: Finishing up Kirby and the Forgotten Land, making more progress in Xenoblade Chronicles DE.
PS5: Returnal, the game that keeps on giving
Other: Pokemon Fire Red Nuzlocke. One of my favorite Pokemon titles right next to gen 2 and 3.
Happy gaming, everyone!
Kirby Star Allies is on my list. I don’t think I’ll 100% it, BUT, I will complete the story mode best I can. Tetris 99 & a short wait for Halo Infinite S2 is among us. I do think I’ll grab Nintendo Switch Sports once my sister & her fiancé are back from vacation.
On XSX, I ended my run at Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order at 82% achievements due to losing some progress due to the game not saving properly - hopefully I can find the courage to redo and finish collecting the chests & secrets there.
Happy gaming everyone!
Mario Kart, all the way. My dad is very into it now, so just sitting with him as he learns is a great joy. He's obsessed with that one DLC track that has the roadway and regular looking cars so we've played that almost every race.
I just downloaded the Isaac repentance dlc and remembered how addicting the game is ... And how bad I am it!
I’ll be playing Persona 5 Strikers and Switch Sports. I’ve only played bowling and Soccer so far for switch sports and soccer is great fun!
Bought and played through Kirby Planet Robobot on the 3DS to get my Kirby fix instead after being rather disappointed by the newest game on Switch.
Other than that my Rimworld playthrough is still ongoing, almost got my entire colony mutilated after a muffalo hunting trip gone wrong immediatedly followed by maddedned exploding rats invading my base. It's a miracle nobody died, just a few lost limbs which in this game is nothing irreplacable.
PS5: Mafia 3 (gave up on Mafia 2, too many bugs)
Switch: Mario Deluxe U
Vita: Dragon's Crown
Really loving the Vita and its OLED display. Kinda wish I had gone with an OLED for my main PS5 and a Switch OLED. Have a good one guys!
@BenAV Awesome list! In case you didn't see, the very first Touhou game is getting a full remake and coming on July 28th! It's called Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony and they have a new trailer for it if you're interested.
@Hero-of-WiiU Great combo of games. How is P5 Strikers on Switch?
Rainy weekend = perfect for gaming! I'm currently working my way through Pokemon Brilliant Diamond's post game. While parts of this remake feel simultaneously new and lazy, to its credit they still kept a lot of the meaty post-E4 content. I've caught most of the legendaries already but still need to fully explore the Grand Underground and finish mowing my way through trainers in the Battle Park landmass. Wish me luck!
On the 3DS front, I'll be diving into the final Layton game of the prequel trilogy: Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. From what little I do know about it, it'll be an interesting ride! Edit: Made it through the first chapter. Unlike previous Layton games - they usually take a bit to get going - this one doesn't waste time on that front.
Happy gaming!
I recently downloaded Figment when it was on sale and my 4-year-old found it on my Switch's menu, so now I get to watch him play that.
On Switch, I'm playing the Castlevania GBA games, Switch Sports, Paper Mario, and finishing up Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
At home, I'm playing Pac Man World 2 on GameCube and Wind Waker on Wii U. I might get back to Chrono Trigger on SNES, if the mood strikes.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
@ItsATM Isn't it a remaster of a 2009 fangame? But yeah I saw it and it looks pretty good. Thinking about ordering a physical copy.
After completing my Let’s Go and Sword/Shield (plus expansion) Dexes, I’m trying to complete what’s left of the BDSP Dexes. Unfortunately, because Platinum’s design improvements haven’t migrated to the remakes, I need to hunt for a few Pokémon for trade/item induced evolutions, plus the extremely tedious task of hunting for a Feebas (which I got via GTS back in the day, and during the glory days when trading was FREE), Spiritomb, and a handful of others.
Shining Pearl is almost complete, but I’ve been sending hatchlings over to Brilliant Diamond to bulk up the Dex. I’ll most likely hunt for Feebas simultaneously on both versions, one on the OLED, and one on the Lite, while listening to podcasts or something, to alleviate the brain-numbing tedium of it all.
And while I did trade a few dozen Pokés with my 7 day trial (I mostly gave away Cyndaquils and Chikoritas), no-one handed over a Feebas. Which moron’s idea was it to delay a glorified wonder trade feature for 4 months after a game’s launch, and to demand a paid subscription for such a privilege?
At least if Pokémon HOME was updated (waiting over 5 months now and counting), I could transfer Feebas over from Sword/Shield instead and spare myself the torture. And TPCi has the audacity to charge people for HOME?!
I’ve also been playing the Japanese physical release of Spelunker Party (no English support) after a long hiatus. I somehow both love and hate the game.
I am currently 12 hours into my first playthrough of Xenogears! It's really fun so far! It's quite funny because normally I would say I hate wild encounters but Xenogears is probably one of the exceptions that I'd make. I love doing the combos and so far the battles haven't been too long!
100% older games in my backlog. I'm trying to clean up stuff so I'm ready to go when XB3 launches. Right now I'm working on Star Allies and Kirby 64
It seems to be an action weekend. Will hopefully get around to trying out THE MERCENARIES update in RE4VR for Quest 2. Started back up on WULVERBLADE. Was thinking about doing an Ultimate run on SPIDER-MAN for PS5 now that the VRR update is live (from the start... No new game+ ).
@Vortexeo
It's such a great game. Surprised it has not been re-released on Switch. So many great RPGs on the PS1!
Recently finished Or and the Blind Forrest , great game. Havent been gaming much of late , I’ll likely start something from the backlog. Disco Elysium or perhaps finally start Subnautica? Been kinda nice taking a bit of a break from gaming tbh.
Have a nice weekend!
@OorWullie
I did the same thing with SMG on 3D All Stars last weekend. Seriously, on the TV I have had smooth gyro control for the pointer and it felt like 2007 all over again. And that game STILL looks amazing. The best 3D Mario game after 64 hands down.
Well since switch sports just came out,i’ll be playing wii sports resort..
@theriku260 that’s awesome that you get your dad to play MK with you, maybe i’ll gets my dad to play with me too haha.
After finishing Triangle Strategy, I started on The Messenger. Then Warioware Get It Together arrived from an eBay order and I started playing that. I’ve also been playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a bit. Last night I remembered Tetris 99 existed and spent an hour enjoying losing at that (did get 4th once). One night I also started the new game plus in Triangle Strategy and played the first battle. So I don’t know what I am playing. Kind of in a mode where I switch between a bunch of things.
I should make sure I get back to The Messenger though. It does seem good. I enjoy how it trolls you when you die.
@SpiraI haha thanks! It took a bit, the main thing was taking the computers off until he got his feet under him. Made it more approachable
Feeling pretty good about my backlog so far, as I’ve knocked off Caveman Ninja, Doom 93, AND Mega Man 9! I’m going through Mega Man 10 right now, but I’m definitely gonna do a Proto Man play through after I get some more games done.
I haven’t touched Captain Commando since then, though, so I’ll maybe play more of that this weekend. Other than that, I’ll maybe simmer down with Smash Bros or Mario Kart 8.
I will be DMing a D&D adventure today so probably won't get to video games today.
Tormented Souls (Switch version). It's tough as nails (I've had to restart it 3 times to save save reels - and I'll probably have to restart it once more - but at least now I know what to do and how find my way around - in the first part of the game at least ).
The graphics and the atmosphere are both great, they are really up there with Resident Evil 2, 3, Zero and Remake IMO. But it really IS is tough as nails; the enemies don't go down easy and there are very few resources (I found 2 healing items in my first attempt - but now I can only find one - and I could really use that extra one now, as I'm at the lowest health possible).
The voice acting felt a bit "off" at first, but now I've gotten used to it. Seems like a great game so far, but I've only solved 2 puzzles so far (and the first was how to get out of the first room!), so I figure I have some way to go yet .
Arise: A Simple Story - a very relaxing 3D Pretty Puzzler Platformer (PPP). It was cheap and games like this are nigh-irresistible.
Dragon Quest I - I've never played a dragon quest game and decided to start at the beginning.
Ocean's Heart - just bought this on sale from wishlist.
Grow: Song of the Evertree - my current daily dose of virtual weed-pulling.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land - love this game but only playing like 1 level at a time so that it will last for months 😝.
Just finished GTA V last night , started artful escape this morning and just bought switch
Sports for family bowling tonight after diner.
More Great Ace Attorney! Finally picked up Case 4 and very interested to see where it goes. I also picked up Groove Coaster last night, along with the Undertale song pack and the new pack with TWEWY songs, and actually really like it!
Yakuza LAD on my PS4, got it started last week and am starting to enjoy it. According to my save file I'm still only in the first chapter so this is gonna be a long one.
Been thinking about picking up Persona Q finally on my 3DS, but I'd like to finish Spirit of Justice first. I'm in Case 5 on that, and need to see what happens with my son Apollo and everyone else.
Im playing Xenoblade Cronicles , im 45 hours into the game. Love it so far. And of course switch sport.
I will be playing the Horizon Zero Dawn dlc since I earned the platinum trophy for the main game, as well as playing a ton of Nintendo Switch Sports. It has been a great way to get me active and off of the couch. Haven't had that experience since the Nintendo Wii.
Mr Driller Drill Land, Luigi's Mansion 3, Tetris 99, Virtua Racing (never gets old trying to improve) for me.
Finishing up bug fables, then moving on to either origami king or super paper Mario.
Me
Slay the Spire (Steam) - I need more 8 achievements..but GOD..it´ll be more 400 hours in gameplay...
Power Rangers Battle for Grid (Steam) - Very nice fighting game. Giant (infinite) combos here.
Wife:
Just Dance 2021 (Switch) - online tournaments
I will be playing through DQ 11 this weekend. Dropped it for some reason back in November but now getting back into it again. More Olympia Soirée this weekend as well. Dropped monster hunter stories 2 as that just stopped feeling it, may go back to it in a couple of months.
Kirby Forgotten World, Mario Party Superstars and maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Hitman 3 for PSVR on a PS5, and The Outer Worlds dlc 1 also on a PS5. It has been in my library way too long, I enjoyed the main game some time ago and got the dlc's too, but i only had one save right before the ending battle. Not possible to start the dlc from there, so i had to restart and make my way to a certain point to get access. It meant playing through half of the game again, so i did a while ago and it pissed me off.. Forgot all about it, but now is the time to finally check what i missed the first time around..
At long last, after having it in my backlog for over a year I finally beat SM64. So now onto Sunshine!
Just started working through my backlog now, after starting Sunshine I'm moving onto New Pokemon Snap
Buddy mission bond, while it is free on the Japanese eshop. It is ok so far, but hasn't grabbed me enough that I'll be able to finish it in a week. Most of the "gameplay" involves having to answer questions about things the game has told you earlier. There are also investigation sections and infiltration sections which so far have all been interesting and had more than one solution, but they feel too few and far between. I suppose in this way it kind of fails as a visual novel.
The story so far isn't bad so far, but 3/4 of the main characters feel very one-dimensional. Not a bad game, but a long way from the likes of ace attorney and danganronpa.
Star Ocean First Departure R & Bowser’s Fury are my current Sith “Rule of 2” rotation at the moment.
Nintendo Switch Sports. Have had a great time with it so far. It's not quite as good as Wii Sports Resort but I would put it above the original and Wii Sports Club on Wii U.
Switch sports has become somewhat aggressive in my uni flat. We’re all the generation who lived and breathed wii sports so with like 5 sets of joy cons between 4 of us ITS GO TIME
Late to the party, but I've just been playing a little bit of Death Squared on my Switch in little sessions here and there, and decided to go through the PS1 classic Tomba, but in Japanese. I'll be starting Earthbound though for the gaming book club though if I have a moment.
@nhSnork you’re like an author, I always look forward to and enjoy your contribution at the weekend 😊
@JasmineDragon Going to start the Skywalker Saga today while working my way through the movies at the same time!
HLTB mentions a playtime of 80 hours for Completionists. Seems signficantly longer than other Lego games. Does that seem right?
@ItsATM
Great! Never played the series before but watched the anime and really got into it. Strikers is my first Persona game and well not sure if I’ll ever play the main game probably just watch it on YouTube
@Hero-of-WiiU Ahh shoot, while I'm glad you're playing it, there is so much missed due to it being a direct sequel to P5/Royal. It's like watching the 4th movie before the 1st lol
@ItsATM
The anime retells the events of the main game but I’m sure it doesn’t cover all of it.
