I wasn't too fussed by Bowser's Fury as was very easy and didn't feel as polished as normal Mario efforts. I did enjoy it and went for all 100 shines, but it all felt a bit samey. Maybe because all one world but not a huge amount of variety. It's Mario, so still great by normal standards, but not a great Mario. I'd not played 3d world before and enjoyed that, although first 4 or so worlds were too easy and a bit slow as a result. It did make up for that once it got going though. Champions Road nearly broke me!.
@jacobthemoose completely agree. Not a direct comparison but I did Link's Awakening almost immediately after BOTW and it felt so claustrophobic and hectic by comparison. I know some people really want a more traditional Zelda experience, and fair enough, but BOTW reset everything for me.
Metro Game Central gave it an 8 and Eurogamer a recommended. Those two sites aren't usually easily impressed so those reviews caught my eye. Tempted now
@Aurumonado True, too late really. By the time they'd been introduced I was happily used to the other characters and never really experimented with the Yoshis
This looks so good and hopefully is the first of many great things to be announced for the switch over E3. The rest of the presentation was pretty dull though, 55 minutes of my life I won't get back. Also, not sure who told all of the presenters to stress every word they said with their hands in such an unnatural way. Made them look odd (apart from the Rabbids makers to be fair who came over well)
I tend to only play single player games and do ok. I thought I was good at Mario - breezed through SMB and SMB 3, 96 levels on Mario World and 120 stars on Mario 64 pre-internet and guides. 120 stars on Galaxy, 880 Moons on Odyssey. I'm now 3 green stars short on 3d World because of stupid Champions Road and it's stupid laser rings. I don't seem to be as good at Mario as I thought anymore. Think reflexes slowing at 43 annoyingly.
@JohnnyC Depends what it is. I got £60 trade in once for a PS4 Hori fighting commander at CEX. Paid for Breath of the Wild with it. That said, it was then priced at £70 odd and remained unsold for many months......
I really liked the random selection of Seven and Seven Is by Love playing in the background. I can only assume someone in the team is a fan and pushed for it as it's not an obvious one. Certainly never turned up on any EA playlists I've heard. Great song though. Well over 50 years old now
Almost no point guessing with these. If Nintendo were to read this comments section and fulfill our wishlist then I would like the following perfectly reasonable and actually realistic games please.
Mario Galaxy 2 BoTW 2 Bayonetta 3 Wind Waker Majora's Mask Metroid Prime 1-4 GBA Advance Wars Vanquish Dishonored Batman Arkham Asylum and City Far Cry 4 An SSX Street Fighter 4
If I recall correctly the reason it was so expensive at £65 was because it was the first 16mb cartridge and the extra memory cost more. 16mb, sounds crazy now.
I'm quite surprised Nintendo don't offer more readily available options in the way of pro controllers. Apart from this, its black or ....... black, the other variants having long since gone in the UK. I'd quite like a few different colours, I'm sure they'd sell given how many switches are out there. I liked having grey, blue and green first party pads for the N64. Would be cool. Wouldn't even need to be branded to a specific game.
The reviews for this have been interesting as they have all highlighted a perceived simplicity. I quite like that though and purchased on that basis.
Only thing that annoyed me slightly is that when my copy turned up it's got one of those 'internet download required' warnings that wasn't pictured on Amazon or any of the promos I saw. Only 2gb so could be worse. Still annoying though.
I absolutely loved this, played through to 880 moons and smiled the whole way through. Currently going through Galaxy and up to 92 Stars and can't really decide between them. Odyssey controls felt tighter as by comparison Galaxy a little less precise. Maybe Odyssey suffered from a little bloat on some of the stars, but such a good game. Would welcome more. Both better than 64 for me.
Is it naive to think this will be where the line ups for the rest of the year will be announced and it could be exciting? About to undermine myself but I'd also like the rumoured Need for Speed Hot Pursuit remaster to be formally announced and dated.
Might be a daft question but the d-pad and buttons look very low on the unit. Is this actually going to be comfortable to use for SMB or is it more of a collector's thing?
PES is so good, easily game I played most for PS4 before selling it to get a Switch. Only one I really miss. Switch PES would be a dream. Don't care what it looked like as long as it played the same. And an edit mode to sort the kits and make my own would be good. My son made a dream team and designed his own kit using his own face as the front. Was strangely disturbing having Messi score and then run off celebrating with my son's grin across his chest.
Does anyone know yet how the free to play approach will work here? Been meaning to buy it for a while and wondering if modes will be withheld going forward and offered at a comparatively higher cost than spending the reasonable amount of £15 now for everything.
I picked up one last month as reduced to £34.99. Still not cheap to be fair. So good though. Really impressed with it. I used to get cramp after a while playing in handheld mode and these completely remove that. They are pretty light but seem well built and stick, d-pad and buttons are all spot on. If you don't need gyro, NFC or portability (major things admittedly for some) and use handheld a lot they are a game changer. You can actually now play street fighter in handheld!
Does anyone know what proportion of the 50m switch owners own a second console? They're probably buying EA games there already and presumably it's not that easy to port the new games to the switch. Look at the poor version of FIFA we get. Presumably it's minimum effort to have Stadia versions so no outlay for them. I'm not defending EA, I just think that it's a separate consideration to Switch support. We have a poor FIFA and an upcoming conversion of a PS3 game. (Is Unravel 2 also EA?). We're not getting Fallen Order either way regardless of Stadia. I'm really not fussed about them either way. Got enough to play as it is given what the Switch does have.
I might have misunderstood but.... I deliberately don't save my PayPal or credit card to my account because of this. I just enter it into the e shop each time. Does that mean I shouldn't be impacted or are there other things they could do with my login?
I bought the initial release of this thinking it would be fun to play with the kids. It must depend on the level of cooperation (and the kids). The first time we played it got overly heated and we all learned some new words..... we've not dared try it again yet.
I paid £25 for a family membership for me and my two teenage kids who love splatoon 2 and have their own switches. That's not bad at all given that free online play is a thing of the past. I love having the option of the classic games but in reality don't use them that much as too many current games to play and been through the key ones recently on my mini SNES. I agree the other services are slicker but if I wasn't that fussed about the free games I'd resent the more pricey outlay. Nintendo online feels like a compromise, but then so is the price.
Nintendo has always been quite clear on this topic. Not sure what this guy is really expecting. They are not going to pay him ever for being good at their game.....

Re: New Trailer Showcases Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania's 'Wondrous Worlds'
Yes please. Just want to know who in the UK is doing the art book (probably more a pamphlet in truth) then ordering me some sweet monkey action

Re: Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Reimagines The Classics On Switch
Very excited for this, even if the mix of 3d and cartoon visuals looked a little off. Game itself is a classic

Re: Rumour: Major Ubisoft Switch Exclusive Could Make An E3 Appearance
Yes please. One of my favourite switch games along with the DLC. Spent about 70 hours unlocking everything. Great game
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Football Games
I wish we could have a version of pro evo. Don't even care what it looked like as long as it played properly.

It's a great controller, but the gamecube is my fave

Almost no point guessing with these. If Nintendo were to read this comments section and fulfill our wishlist then I would like the following perfectly reasonable and actually realistic games please.
Mario Galaxy 2
BoTW 2
Bayonetta 3
Wind Waker
Majora's Mask
Metroid Prime 1-4
GBA Advance Wars
Vanquish
Dishonored
Batman Arkham Asylum and City
Far Cry 4
An SSX
Street Fighter 4
All ones the switch could cope with.
Re: Ubisoft Leads As The Top Third-Party Publisher On Switch In 2020
I'd be up for Far Cry 3 or 4, presumably the Switch could cope

Not sure this is accurate. It's an EA game listed for £34.99 and not £44.99. Surely can't be real.

I'd really like Dishonored. Be great if that was coming. One of the best game series ever.
Re: Hori Brings Its Fighting Commander Gamepad To The Switch This June
I've had the ps4 and ps3 versions of these. They are great pads but not cheap. If I'm honest I preferred them to the m30 for fighters.

@sixrings Presumably though they'll have similar issues

Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Switch Online Good Value Compared To PlayStation Plus And Xbox Live Gold?
