Ubisoft Switch

Ubisoft may not have collaborated with Nintendo since Starlink: Battle for Atlas but in its latest quarterly financial report it has revealed once again that it's the top third-party publisher on the Switch.

This sales success has been driven by games such as Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and series like Just Dance, according to Ubisoft's chief financial officer, Frederick Duguet.

“We’re also reaping the benefits of the Switch’s huge success and our position as leading third-party publisher on the platform thanks to, among others, our Just Dance games and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. The depth and breadth of our catalog, which goes beyond the brands mentioned, provides us with ever-greater visibility and continues to be a strong driver of profitability.”

One of Ubisoft's latest releases, Immortals Fenyx Rising, is also apparently performing well on the platform - contributing to the French video game giant having its best month ever at the end of last year.

It's unlikely Ubisoft will lose this title of the top third-party publisher on the Switch anytime soon - with annual releases like Just Dance expected to keep coming. In saying this, it's not entirely clear at the moment what else it has planned for the hybrid platform in the future.

Recently there was some excitement over the official Rabbids Twitter account tweaking its name that was then undone and there have also been multiple listings for a Switch version of The Prince of Persia Remake.
