@Ulysses yes but typing "generative" every time is just a chore. And I'm saving my fingers and my keyboard for higher purposes, like typing nonsensical comments
@HHappyGoose88 I do not think so. There is room for quality in the industry, it's just not in western AAA sector
This is important! This is the best visual novel (if it can count as one) or point and click game I have ever played and that is not a light statement. This is a masterpiece and we need another 302847 games in this universe
Are sweaty pores enough for me to grab the Switchi 2? Maybe not, but David Hayter shouting at Kiryu is enough of the evidence for me that some time traveler moved a chair somewhen in 2010s because we live in the most bizarre timeline possible.
David Hayter, sweat, 60 characters in a multi nobody asked for. What do we do?
Yeah it really looks like the graphics wasn't a priority. I am far from saying graphics is all that matters, but in this case it doesn't really convey the artistic direction well.
And let's be real, there are other things to worry about like:
1. Multiple Islands/towns, this isn't a GBC game
2. The "island MC" nonsense that required the first account to build anything
3. The infinite floral prolifelation crisis
4. having to litter the entire island for the "perfect score" and only 1 Jacob's Ladder
@Spider-Kev Should you be wary? I think no, I mean Pokemon games are all worth playing, it's just a shame they are very low budget.
I do recommend Sun/Moon if you want to try some Pkmn game despite the turn based combat. It's very good (my personal 3rd place after Blue and Silver) and has many quality of life features so I think it's a good starting point
I hope this becomes common practice among smaller and middle companies (I have no hope for the big ones), I wouldn't even mind paying a bit more extra. I've seen those deals before, but they are pretty rare in the wild
@jfp true, I grew out of most warlike FPS-es, maybe with the exception of Delta Force BHD, and yeah I know what you mean. Strangely enough I kinda stopped noticing violence in games, I've seen so much it completely lost my attention
@Toastmaster maybe but they lost my trust. And let's face it, they haven't released anything that would interest me for like a decade. Maybe Sims 1+2 (day 1 purchase)
@Spider-Kev yes, pretty much. SW/SH was already so - so with very limited "open space" and Scarlet Violet is a technological tragedy barely running at about 28 to 30 fps, empty cities and completely barebones environments. Surprisingly, the storylines were really solid and it is worth playing, but it really feels more like a student project than a game from a multi bilion company from the worlds most recognizable franchise
"All these other games that come out for 70 bucks, 90 bucks, I mean look you’ve got Mario Kart for $90 - you think Mario Kart competes with a game like this as far as how much stuff they’ve got to put into a game?”"
What a take. Right now both games have 0 playable content as they weren't released yet so those comparisons are completely useless.
I'll pick a bag of gold dust over 10 bags of manure.
And seeing GTA5, and what they are trying to do with GTA6, it's probably gonna be manure. It's not GTA 3/VC and will never be.
@jfp I think if you think about it that way, interpreting violence in a game is kinda weird, seeing as you know for a fact that you are basically "killing" a bunch of pixels

Re: Story Of Seasons Publisher Says Physical Switch 2 Releases Are "The Right Decision For Us"
No physical release for a game from any bigger company is a major red flag. I'm glad some people understand that. I'm amused some big companies don't

Re: Nintendo: "Appetite" For Mario Kart And Series' Accessibility Makes It Ideal For Switch 2's Launch
Ideally, most people would not buy it day one and maybe then Nintendo would think about inflating the price ad infinitum.
We do not live in an ideal world though and people will still buy it. They will be vocal about the price, but in the end, they will support it

Pokemon Red/Blue my beloved

Moral of the story, don't focus on what you don't have, focus on what you do have.
Re: Nintendo Appoints Doll Company Executive As A New Outside Director
Offtop: What a horrible doll in this picture
If you pick a doll company, at least pick a good one! /j
In all seriousness, great dolls do exist but they cost more than a small car. They are 100% worth the price though
Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of March 2025
These are all fantastic games, well deserved.
@Cathalm all Pokemon are great games but the question whether it's "good" or "bad" to do so well depends on the viewpoint.
It's great for GameFreak because it shows they can keep doing the bare minimum and earn a lot of money
It's not so great for the customers since we will continue to receive severely undercooked games which have great gameplay, but work terribly

Japanese is so... different, as if you were buying some extreme sports manual. European is more pronounced, but it's pretty standard.
