Re: The Ten Best Wholesome Games On Switch

Pluto14

Highly recommend a short hike for those who haven't played. The game is indeed short, but totally worth it, especially for the 4 euros or something that it costs. I'd also recommend Part Time UFO, I don't know if it really counts as wholesome but it is really chill and I've had a lot of fun playing it with friends

Re: Review: Moorhuhn Kart 2 - A Poultry Offering

Pluto14

I really want to know who the people are that buy these games? Are they masochists? Parents that just don't know better? Memelords perhaps? Why o why does this world with all its problems need a second Moorhuhn kart lmao

Re: Rumour: 'Switch Pro' Console Still Aiming For 2021 Launch, According To Known Insider

Pluto14

I hope so! I think we can all agree that the Switch is in need of some technical upgrades. But I doubt that the Switch will get a huge upgrade apart from a resolution bump and some more processing power. Nintendo probably wants to support the original Switch model as long as possible. If they'd bring out a Switch Pro with exclusive Pro games we'd probably get another WiiU like debacle lol

Re: Dataminers Uncover Donkey Kong Stickers In Super Nintendo World Mobile App

Pluto14

I remember an article from 3 years ago where Nintendo filed a patent concerning a Donkey Kong-like rollercoaster. The patent contained ideas to let the rollercoaster emulate a minecart-like level. The carts could jump and switch rails just like they do in Donkey Kong Country. Maybe they actually implemented these ideas into an actual rollercoaster? I hope so!

Edit: I'm talking about this: https://www.slashfilm.com/super-nintendo-world-rides/.

Re: New Kickstarter RPG Promises To Make Use Of Switch Joy-Con's IR Camera

Pluto14

I didn't even know that you could do this with the IR camera. It looks very promising, and it reminds me of the QR-codes you could scan in some 3ds-games to receive miis or custom made levels. Implementing these codes in games like SSBU or Mario Maker 2 could make finding levels a lot easier. Just create an IR-code and share it on social media!

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th January (Europe)

Pluto14

Who else is getting really tired of all these discounts on garbage games? Because there aren't many ways to easily navigate the eshop, I mostly scroll through the discount section, but the experience keeps getting worse by the week with all the 90%-percent discounts on trash such as every game from Ocean Media or Qubicgames

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Summary From E3 2019 - Day One

Pluto14

I've got to say that I was a bit disappointed after the direct. Sure, it was nice to see some Luigi's Mansion 3 and Animal Crossing footage, but we already knew that these games existed. If I'm correct, the only new first-party game that Nintendo announced was a sequel to BOTW (which is, of course, extremely awesome). The only other notable thing IMO was Banjo in smash, but even though that's great, it's still 'just' a DLC for an existing game so it's not something to be too excited about.

The rest of the Direct was just announcing games on the Switch that we've had for months or even for years on other platforms. I mean, it reconfirms that the Switch gets the third-party support it deserves, but again, it's not something new...

Re: Mario Kart Tour Beta Test Details And Images Are Already Leaking Online

Pluto14

It looks like it is based a lot on Mario Kart 7. Of the three stages being shown, two of them are from MK7 and the kart custom parts are also reused. I'm honestly glad that there aren't many new things here, because I'd rather have new stages/characters in Mario Kart 9 than in this mobile game. It looks nice, but that screenshot of Choco island (or whatever that stage is called) looks a bit bland.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 30th)

Pluto14

This weekend I probably won't be playing anything, but as soon as I get my salary I will get Baba Is You from the eshop. I've seen some footage of it and it looks like an incredible challenging but fun puzzle game. I still have Grim Fandango: Remastered tho, but I'm stuck in Chapter 3 and I'm too stubborn to use a walkthrough lol

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 2nd)

Pluto14

I bought world of goo and west of loathing from the sale! I've already played world of goo for an hour or so; very interesting game and much harder than I expected. Haven't played west of loathing yet, but I've heard very good stories about the game.

I also have enough gold coins to get BIT.TRIP Saga for free, so I'll download that game when I'm done playing the other two games. I've wanted to play the BIT.TRIP games for a long time, but I've read stories about how the music isn't synchronised well with the gameplay, so I'm curious how that will work out.

Re: Super Nintendo World Will Be Ready In Time For The 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Pluto14

@OorWullie I recall having read a news article about Nintendo granting patents related to rollercoasters and other attractions. All I remember was a DK rollercoaster where the vehicle would be attached to something underneath the track, so that it would look like the vehicle were jumping across tracks, just like in the DKC series. I'll try to look it up.

Re: Rumour: Dataminer Uncovers SNES Games For Nintendo Switch Online Service

Pluto14

SNES games would be awesome, although I doubt that Nintendo would make all these games availabe (at once). SNES games have aged much better than NES games, and while NES games are mostly games that you play one time and then never again (at least from my experience), SNES games can still be played from beginning to end, so making them all available would be very generous from Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 20th)

Pluto14

I'll play Okami and The Way. I bought The Way in sale for 3 euros, but I was a bit sceptical about the game, since the reviews were very mixed (including the review from this site). Until now, I have to say that the game is fantastic: the graphics are great, the puzzles keep me interested and overall the game creates a very sci-fi ambiance. I'd really recommend the game

Re: Feature: Our Favourite Mario Party Memories

Pluto14

My first and also favourite Mario Party was Mario Party DS. Wonderful game, the minigame are so much fun and the boards have withstood the test of time. I also played Mario Party 9, but all I can remember is that it was a very frustrating experience

Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition

Pluto14

@WiltonRoots I also don't have a strong desire to watch Netflix on my Switch (since I also have a phone, a laptop and a tv that can also do this in a higher resolution) but still, it's always nice to have this opportunity, especially if you're using a device made by a company like Nintendo, who wants to market the Switch not purely as a game device, but as an 'entertainment device' (since Nintendo also is suddenly an entertainment company, right?). Having exclusive Mario titles apparently isn't enough to keep (new) Switch users motivated to keep carrying the Switch around, and having apps like Netflix or Youtube may fulfill our needs.

Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition

Pluto14

Even though I know that it's mostly PR talk from Reggie, I think that this is actually the best strategy for Nintendo. If Nintendo still were to compete with Sony and Microsoft, they would definitely fail, since the consensus is that the PS4/Xbox are the consoles to go for to play pop culture games (FIFA, GTA, CoD, AC etc.) and this won't change easily. Nintendo competes with Netflix, mobile games, TV, or other types of media that are 'just fun to do'. If they don't target at those groups you get another WiiU scenario, where some families and passionate NintendoLife visitors are the only ones to buy the console.

This is also the reason why it's so important for Nintendo to get Netflix/Youtube/Crunchyroll/Twitch on the Switch.
