Unless you began collecting Smash amiibo when the original Wii U and 3DS versions were released a number of years ago, the task of collecting every single one featured in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will no doubt be quite the challenge.
With this in mind, there's one special storage box that could save any self-respecting Smash fan a lot of time. According to Japanese Nintendo, Amazon's Japan website will be stocking a special Smash Bros. amiibo storage box. It will contain space inside it for the 63 included amiibo and also come with a bonus wall poster. No price has been revealed for this luxurious item, which is due out on 7th December.
Before you go making plans to secure one of these amazing storage boxes, it's worth pointing out there'll only be a total of 50 available. That means the chances of scoring one yourself are incredibly unlikely, especially if you live outside of Japan.

I could use one of those (I have them all lined up on top of my entertainment center and they are total dust traps), but it won’t have enough space for every single character. Why would they only make 50 of them?
Oh my god that will be SO expensive.
Why bother making them at all, then?
I could use TWO boxes. I'm too embarrassed to count how many amiibo figures there are in total. (and I have every single figure to date, bar the Skylanders figures, which I don't count)
Ah great, another pointless cardboard box from Nintendo
Everymiibo (Almost) is here!
Seems absurd to only produce 50 of these, it's only a display box.
Also annoyingly, it only has 63 spaces, as opposed to spaces for all of the variant amiibo as well as future releases in the Smash Bros line. They don't have a space for the US and JP variants of R.O.B. and ROBOT. They do for Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta though.
I think I already got the set Amiibo US version can't go sinking more money here..ugh..
I have a grand total of zero Amiibo and I plan to keep it that way.
I have all of the Smash Bros amiibo released to date. Instead of a box, I need more shelves.
So if each amiibo costs around €15,- , the storage box would cost around €945,-... Assuming that the price is just 15 x 63 of course. Thanks but I'll pass.
50.
It's like they're trolling the scalpers
@RupeeClock : I doubt that Nintendo themselves have decided on how many of these things they are going to produce.
There are still opposite sex variants and alternate characters (Alph, Koopalings) to consider as well (if they are really keen on milking the diehard fans to the point of poverty ).
Just go ikea. It’ll save you monies
I know for a fact I would go nuts not being able to fit the dlc Amiibo figures in the box.
Well, it is restocking, technically, but goodness, this is not what I expected.
Here, I found the blueprints. You'll need to custom it a bit with some black sharpees and white out, but it's cheap! Just remember, the more time you spend on your creases, the better your new LABO Storage-Con will turn out.
I am under the impression that the box comes with the amiibo already inside.
They’re missing the 3 Mii amiibo too (though you could argue about having them instead of the Cloud/Corrin/Bayo dupes, since they ignored the ROB and Mega Man variants)
@Silly_G
True, they never did make amiibo for Alph or the Koopalings, even though they totally could have.
I came into the article expecting to make the joke that fewer than 63 will actually be produced.
Nintendo are now self-satirising?
@Liam_Doolan @Yosheel Yup, that's what it sounds like at the source link
"Amazon Japan will be selling a Dairantou Smash Bros. Series 63 amiibo Set from 07 December at 18:00 JST containing special amiibo storage box, all 63 (!) released Smash Bros. amiibo (including Inkling, Ridley, King K Rool and Piranha Plant) and a wall poster. No price has been announced but the set will be limited to 50."
That's cool if you never got into amiibo originally. Lucky for me I have most of them (and took advantage of GCU and Prime at the time) so I only have about 3 that I paid too much for and I have all of the smash ones except 2.
@justin233 And that means?
@subpopz @RupeeClock The box contains the actual figures of all 63 Smash Amiibo released so far when you purchase it, it's not just a box.
Doesn't make it any less ridiculous but just FYI.
Good they made something like this but bad only 50? Common and also no Amiibo that is even worse-those who don't have them all or not all of them released well you can guess what they will say about that. I already have them all but I think it's bigger than 50 or could be wrong. The past SSB are still mostly majority in the box still, I don't have the room or shelf space. I need a Smithsonian to display them all.
@link3710 if that is the case that price will be outrageous to buy it and that will mostly for me be SH&^% NOway will I buy that.
@SwitchForce if you have the majority of the smash amiibo already, you pretty much already paid that amount, just in small instalments.
@link3710 Oh, well then the article doesn't explain that very well.
It was emphasizing that it's a storage box, over the fact that it's a complete set of 63 amiibo for purchase.
Since when do you describe a complete set of figures as "a storage box with included figurines"?
I really want to know the cost. With only 50 being sold, Nintendo should really auction these off. They'd sell for stupid money.
Yeah, this is gonna sell out in milliseconds.
How can we know how much they'll cost on eBay without knowing the actual price first?
What's the equivalent of $1,000 in Yen? Gotta be a lot.
Joke's on them, then - what with my only kind of employment being on-call employment, I'm so perpetually flat [email protected]#&%ng broke that the inability to get amiibo doesn't even faze me anymore. I have Link, Pit, Fox (those three from the Smash 4 line) and Donkey Kong (as a half-Skylander, half-amiibo hybrid), and that's it.
I've got 2 amiibo so far Samus & the wolf link that came with twilight princess on wiiu, I also ordered Ridley because I'm thinking maybe the Samus and Ridley will be usable for metroid prime 4 in addition to smash bros. However I sure don't need every amiibo lol.
@SwitchForce It means I don’t give a crap about Amiibo.
Want! But only 50 is ridiculous.
@justin233 and we give a hoot.
@SwitchForce 😂
Give. Me. Plz. Now.
63?! Pfft, ha! No thank you, there will be more fighters and Echoes than that!
why in the world are there only 50?
I only have a few Amiibo's
I have the 2 Pikmin one's, glow in the dark Boo and the smash Link
That's enough for me at the moment
@Silly_G Same thing here.
odds are still better than getting most amiibos
And not even Falco?
@welshland Amiibo collecting is kinda ridiculous to be honest. Some people are really into it and there is nothing wrong with that but they can quickly get surprisingly expensive and you would need an entire display shelf for them, not exactly everyone's thing.
Personally I am fine with just having the small assortment I got when I was collecting a few of them during the Wii U era.
I just want Sheik, thanks.
I got my Mega Man amiibo and that's all I need.
Here's the site of all the current Amiibos listing.
http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_amiibo
Before the new ones SSB of yesterday Amiibo shows 62 count.
I make amiibo display holders in all shapes and sizes out of macrocarpa timber. Was soon going to put them up for sale. If anyone is interested in having a look let me no. I have no idea what website to sell them off coming from australia
I had all but 5 of the smash amiibo. Then I had a little bit of a buyers remorse as I looked at all the clutter, so I sold them. Only have 3 left.
Turns out I got 33(not all smash). Not near all of them but enough to take up a lot of room.
Toys for the big boys!
The article wasn't very clear about the amiibo being IN the box. Now it makes sense that they are only producing so few, but 50 is still pretty damn ridiculous. Surely a few hundred of these will fly out the door, especially for those who want a more or less complete collection without the pain of having to procure them individually.
I am embarrassed to say I only miss the recently announced amiibo...
The only ones I couldn't manage to get was the alternate versions of Bayonetta, Cloud and Corrin. Somehow I'm glad I didn't succeed. I would have felt like a stupid moron... a delicious statisfying stupid moron.
@Aneira @LUIGITORNADO posting nonsense is just that nonsense from trolls. Making excuses that Amiibo causes clutter is classic trolling. No one asked you to buy them you made the choice. And complaining you didn't get it means you wanted it but made the choices you made. Those complaining the loudest are the one that did the complete opposite otherwise why would they even complain.
@SwitchForce I lost interest halfway through your post. It was something like "No one may talk negatively of my beloved amiibo's" wasn't it? Calm down dude. I'm a sucker for them too. I just don't feel the need to defend my sick addiction. And it is. Hoarding is a sickness. I also like to drink more than the next man.
@Aneira nothing wrong with collecting and hoarding isn't on the same level as a collector. What if anyone follows my post is their choice to make not mine. Those are two very distinct behaviors. One showcases and the other is case study into themselves. And one shouldn't make light of either. I myself as a collector have one of each of them not like I buy more to sell-that kills the enjoyment of my Amiibos to showcase them and use them as well.
@SwitchForce You're literally insufferable.
I was sharing my experience with amiibo. If you don't like my comment. Then ignore it.
I had no room or area to display all the amiibo I purchased and have it work aesthetically. I was not using them for games. At that point I decided that I could sell them and recoup what I lost.
That's not trolling. That's what happened.
So far I haven't seen a Amiibo buy the users.
At this point I want to put my amiibo collection into a box and light it on fire.
@RandomNerds "At this point I want to put my amiibo collection into a box and light it on fire."
And we shed no tears for you.
@RandomNerds it's now 63.
@SwitchForce ok.
