Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

"...by completing the second half of Autumn Heights (best world ever)"
Hold on Dave, you shouldn't say that until you've visited world 5!! (just kidding literally every level in DKCTF is bursting with creativity and originality)

But I'm going to play Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga this weekend. It's the only M&L game I haven't played and I'm curious if it has withstood the test of time.

@Capt_N Prime 4 is exactly the reason why I bought the Prime trilogy! I've played Super Metroid on my SNES Mini a few months ago, but I was curious what the Prime series is about. So far it's awesome, but I'm glad that the game gives you hints because the game wants you to progress in a way that isn't always as logical (but maybe I'm just bad). It's still a blast to play and I can't wait to see footage of Prime 4!

Re: Nintendo Is Announcing "A New Way To Play" Later Today

Pluto14

Now a serious guess from me: There is a supermarket chain in my country (Plus, for those who live in the Netherlands) and they've announced that you can collect MarioKart coins if you spend a certain amount of money. Is it an option that you can buy these coins everywhere later on, so that you can collect them? And you could interact with them by scanning them on your Switch, just like amiibo's. Collecting and trading cheap stuff has always been something that children like, but there are also many adults who still like to collect Pokemon cards etc. So my guess is that Nintendo will announce a new line of physical collectables which will interact with your Switch.

Edit: I have no idea how to upload your own images on here, so I've made the advertisement my profile banner to show you what I mean.

Re: Random: Mario Kart Wii Made Amazon's Top 100 Games In December

@Octane I know right, it's bizarre. I thought that I've read somewhere that Nintendo never lowers its prices because they just think the the game is worth the money, no matter how old the game is. In my country, there are still retailers and web sites that sell Super Mario 64 DS for 40 euros. And the game is 13 years old now...

Re: Review: VVVVVV (Switch eShop)

Pluto14

@Tetsuro You're right about that. You need to really like the commodore-like graphics and sounds to enjoy the game, and the time it takes to 100% the game for the first time is about three hours, so if you like to play a long game with a cool story you shouldn't buy this. So yeah, you need to be a little bit of a 'nerd' to enjoy the game, otherwise it's not the game for you.

Re: Review: VVVVVV (Switch eShop)

@Tetsuro this game really is great. There's a lot of replay value, music is outstanding imo, the 3ds version even had 15 user made levels, so there's actually more content than just the story mode. It really deserves the 8.

Re: Review: Mario Party: The Top 100 (3DS)

Pluto14

@Aaron09 I would argue that. I actually haven't played a console Mario Party with my friends yet, but when I was younger I played Mario Party DS for many hours with my friends and it was amazing. We can stull talk about every minigame or about certain events and how we got angry on each other, so I don't think that the game being on a handheld reduces the magic of the game.

Re: Poll: Six Months of the Switch - What Do You Think of Nintendo's Console Hybrid?

Pluto14

Still waiting to see footage of Metroid Prime and the reveal of a new Pikmin or Donkey Kong. As someone who's bought quite a few games on the Wii U, the Switch still hasn't much to offer me. And I really want to like Super Mario Odyssey, but for some weird reason I just can't get excited for it... I really like the concept, but I'll wait until I'm convinced that it can replace my Wii U

@cfgk24 Ooh okay thanks for the explanation, but still, for people who have no experience with using headsets or other accessoiries (people like me), it's still a complex and devious idea to handle this the way Nintendo does. It looks like Nintendo really wants to sell the Switch to a mainstream audience, but if you want that you shouldn't come up with ideas like thidm

Re: Rumour: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX Partnering Up for 3DS eShop

@MarcelRguez I think that Dream Team was pretty good though. It had a slow start (worst tutorial of the series) and dialogue that wasn't always interesting (repeating the same thing over and over again) but it had enough fun moments that it made me play it until the end. I can't actually point out the weakest game in the series. I haven't played Paper Jam though, wasn't interested in that one
