I just bought Dreams yesterday, just beginning to see the potential, it is just crazy. But yeah, the only thing surprising about that new is that it took way more time to happen that I assume first.
@lord because you talked about a remaster of Burnout 3 takedown, now I will hope we get one. By the way, I bought this game (Grid autosport on Switch), very fun , more simulation than arcade but only by a thin margin
There are other factors more importants I think. You can save up to 120 courses, it's the upload limit that is restricted to 32, but if we have a control on this, that's fine. If Nintendo randomly delete uploaded levels for whatever reasons, now that the online is a paid service, and that those levels cannot be re-uploaded, now that's a big problem.
I had a number of stars in the Wii U version that allowed me to post 32 of my 40 sequential SMB3-style levels online, but just before I reached the required stars number to be able to post the remaining 10, some of my sequencial levels were deleted.
I know I must be in a minority of sequence-style heavy creators in this situation. but I hope this is not a treat anymore, the deleted levels for no specific reasons.
And again, where are the original hammer suits, as well as frog and tanooki, p-wing, p-baloon?
Just watching your Thanos avatar @ThanosreXXX makes me imagine others possible jokes, related to Avengers, just when King Bowser is about to snap to present a game (a game like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3), before beeing interrupted, but maybe that's just me
Please, I hope it is for the hammer bros suit from SMB3, my favorite Super mario power-up ever, that was also the most hard to find by far! And I hope also the SMB3 frog and tanooki costume make a comeback. Don't forget the pwing suits with their SMB3 and SMW variants. It would be nice also to add the likes of Shell and boomerang suits of most recent games.
Resident Evil 7 is a curious case for me. Even if I own the PS4 version and having played from start to end with the PSVR, I would be curious enough to play it on my switch in handheld mode in a propper port , but not a streaming version like the japanese cloud version.
I almost bought used PSVR and PS4 console for RE7 alone, and even if I know that nothing can top that (speaking of ways to play RE7 and VR games, RE7 beeing my favorite with Astro Bot), I know I would bite for a handheld version.
Well I plan to buy the Switch version of RE4 even if I owned the gamecube and Wii versions.
For all the others, it would be good news to have around 25% of these ports, but still we are starting to need more brand new games. A new burnout, a new Mario Maker with integration of world and almost every feature (every powerup of SMB3, every enemy from different games, more game templates) and, let's dream, a new 3D Donkey Kong Country game.
@OorWullie Curiously, I did not answer that door because I just though of it as something more to build up tension, without this possibility to do that, but I'll try it tonight
Maybe I'll try it later, never played Outlast 1 or 2. I recently bought Layers of fear on Switch though, completed it and I want to go back to it again. That game (Layers of fear) is honestly scary and does not rely on constant jump scares, but on the unnerving, twisted and disturbed atmosphere and the shape-shift of the house, the transformation of the rooms happening just before your eyes, after a brief rotation of the camera are tricks that are so well designed and original.
But yeah, I'll watch these Outlast games, probably when they will be on sale.
The best HD rumble implementation I've seen in all Switch games is in Thumper, especially the orbs you shoot at the bosses that curve before the impact
Awesome game, I can't recommand it enough. I am actually able to play it in TV mode, maybe I got acustomized to the small input lag, but yeah, handheld mode is best with this game, with headphones
Has someone tried a 3 player matches, with player 1 having the pro controller and player 2 AND player 3 using a single horizontal joy-con?
I tried this at home and the player 2 joy-con was'nt recognized at all, and it ended with a 2 player match, but with the right half of the screen beeing splitted between a working player 3 car and a static player 2 car (impossible to control) even if in the switch menus it was connected.
My experience in that regard was a total mess at best.
I'm curious about this, great for Switch for sure and maybe I'll buy it, but the game I actually wish would come true is a Switch port of Resident Evil 7.
Yes, like @Knighty_IX said, Dementium Remastered gets my vote with Resident Evil revelations beeing close second.
Even the original DS game was something at time of release (october 31th 2007, seriously), but I never got chance to play Dementium 2 on DS, let alone my hopes for that 3DS remaster that will never see the light of day, obviously.
I hope we will finally see Switch games rewards before Switch sucessor, but please, not things like Vroom in the night sky or 5% discounts on games that everyone already owns
I have already RE revelations 1 on 3DS and on Wii U (I got the later on sale). The one for 3DS is still the prettiest 3ds game if you ask me, but the HD treatment is nice on Wii U. I should pass the Switch version for this one. Now I don't own RE revelations 2, I could consider it but I just saw correct or average reviews scores, so I will check later.
The only RE I would ready need on my Switch would be RE7 tough, with RE4 to consider also, even if they port the latter on a dozen platforms, they never released a legit and conplete handheld version.
I was really looking forward to this. I understand the challenges about the scope of the game and the always online nature, but I hope the project will not be cancelled, these kind of games would be well suited for the Switch.
@chadir @samuelvictor Interesting remarks on close-distance objects, but in my opinion, it turns out that for the type of games I prefer the sharpiness of these close-distance objects to the sharpiness of background elements in the distance
I bought this game on Switch yesterday, and it is really enjoyable, which should always be the major point. The difference on the background between the versions (Switch and PS4) is the only one I see and has no incidence on gameplay for this type of game.
Now it is a little blurrier in handheld mode, and we see the resolution difference between undocked and docked modes, but it's still a great looking game in both case for my money.
@supercharlie78 and @bulkslash. yes, button remapping is an option, in all configurations.
@bsham , I don't know if you got Fast Racing Neo on your Wii U, but it is almost as good, but the AI is more punishing and the visuals are not as good as this version, and obviously only the Switch version has HD rumble (not mentionned in this review). Without being a revolution, it definitly enhance the experience, especially for environment hasards
A score well deserved, I have a blast playing this, and yes, in my opinion actually the prettiest portable game.
I already own the Wii U version and the DLC...but I bought Fast RMX on the Switch anyway.
I am so proud of my choice. Even if the number of new tracks is a little bit low, the fact that all the graphical tricks from the Wii U version, now gone because they are not necessary anymore, make a hell of a difference, they make the returning tracks almost feel new.
Just compare play the Wii U version on the gamepad, and then play the equivalent track on the Switch screen (handheld mode), it is a huge step forward.
@moon No it does not feature download play, each person need a copy. But a lot of multiplayer options are already covered (2 persons with 1 switch, 1 joy-con each, local multiplayer up to 4, online up to 8)
I honestly think I will download it (and I downloaded the Wii U game AND DLC) as my first game to test the HD rumble
A little delay is not a problem. The way it will be implemented and what it will allow (to redownload titles previously bought on Wii U/ 3DS / even Wii) is the key part here. If full priced is asked again for every title, it will be virtual console death...almost. But I fear the new drip feed rythim of VC Switch games once again
VC news! VC news! VC news!
Makes it clear, it would be about damn time.
Allow owners of VC games who bought games on the Wii U, 3DS, maybe even on the Wii, to redownload them on the Switch for free, or for a small fee...when these games become available on the Switch eshop
Wow, @emperor-palpsy , I just try to imagine both David Wise and Koji Kondo working together. Either a war would occur, either we will have the best soundtrack in any videogame...
But..I think Koji Kondo worked with another guy for the Galaxy games soundtrack, so yeah, bring this guy too...lol
The music from the great David Wise is the main reason this game could be interesting, maybe I'll check this out. Who could forget his work with the DKC series, especially DKC 2
@George4518 , yeah, we are a lot (myself included for sure) that have been waiting for theses informations for a long time.
Time to unveil the VC system including transfer process, transfer types, first VC games availables, hopefully Gamecube support news (and why not Sega Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast, at least for a later date)
For comparison, the sales for Zelda Twillight princess for Wii was equal in proportion to the time the Gamecube version has been in development, and the sales of the Gamecube version are equal to the time taken to port it to the Wii.
I suspect the same thing will happen with the Wii U and the Switch versions of Breath of the wild, so I suspect the Switch version to sell 3 to 4 times the number of the Wii U version.
I have another.
Will it be possible for 16 people to play at the same time, with 8 Switch consoles in tabletop mode? Or at least for 8 people, with 4 Switch consoles in these same conditions? That would be insane.
But yeah, download play has to stay another opportunity, at least for that kind of game.
I never played Dementium 2 on the DS, so maybe if the cancellation of the remastered project of that game becomes official, it's possibly something I will check on ebay.
@flashmanHarry. you just reminded me that Disaster: day of crysis game that I was hoping, and that I just forgot at some point. I just checked for it and saw that it never came out in Canada. That is totally my kind of game or, well, should I say,... movie.

Re: Poll: How Important is the Virtual Console, and GameCube, for the Nintendo Switch?
I know I am a bit late to the party, but as someone who purchased a lot of VC games, here what I think would be important:
1- Allow VC game owners ( from Wii, Wii U and 3DS VC) to repurchase these at no price with the switch, or, to be more realistic, at a small fee for an upgraded version. I fear that nothing could be said about Wii Vc purchased stuff not already transfered to a Wii U however...it's a a shame it is with the Wii that I bought the most of my VC games.
2- Garantee us that theses purchases with be linked to accounts and not to systems anymore, even if we don't benefit from this before an eventual Switch / 3DS sucessor
3- Don't mess with multiplayer in VC games anymore, like the New 3DS Super Mario Kart failure of the impossibility of enjoying multiplayer in GBA and DS games on Wii U VC, but I understand the latter was more complicated
4- Include a maximum of systems, like Game boy, Game Boy Color, Gamecube and hopefully a return of Sega systems (Genesis/Megadrive, Master System, but also Game Gear, Saturn and Dreamcast)...if possible Neo Geo, and some others
Now, we need to understand that, unlike the Wii to Wii U VC transfer process, the retrocompatibility is out of question, so we will have to be patient to get from the start this new Switch VC library build from zero, so be prepared to progressively be able to transfer some of your old games one at the time.
...and yes, I know that for the moment, it'a better not to hope for any non-Nintendo systems to join the VC library, probably excluding GB and GBC. The minimum has to be NES, SNES, N64, GBA and GC.
