@Teksetter That's because it was not made in the US or in Japan. I do not believe it was ever 100% officially released in the US, though you can buy very expensive regional dvds of it for the US. It is a 1975 film from Norway. There are bits and pieces of it scattered all over You Tube, you might even be lucky enough to find the whole thing on there. It is an extremely fun movie.
I found the original movie by mistake many, many years ago, I of course fell instantly in love with the film. I later found the DS game and played that and had a good time. Now about a year ago I was over joyed to find yet another movie called "Luis and Luca - Mission to the Moon". Though not quite as good as the first movie it was still very fun to watch. I am absolute disbelief that the DS game is getting a successor for the Switch. After watching the video above I cannot wait for it to hit on Nov. 4th. Thanks for sharing this, made my day.
I see this expansion as sort of "virtual console". Granted we do not get to pick the games that go on it but it is covering more machines and maybe if this successful we might get some more. On the other side of this I HATE the N64 and the Genesis games that are being offered are ones that have been offered in nearly incarnation of a genesis "collection" or "mini". It's like those Atari Playback systems that @Games was making. It was always the same games with 1 or 2 new ones added. I will most likely pass on this myself but i will be expanding it on my daughter's system.
I don't get cloud gaming. You pay full price for a game that you don't actually own? As soon as the servers go down that game is gone? WTF? Seriously? If you are gonna pay the price there should be a way to play this forever and any where. If it is a cloud game how is it portable? Are you relying on wifi all over your travel route, the Mc Cafe that you hang out in? This makes no sense. The disposable generation of gamers is killing gaming.
Wouldn't the first game in any series be the best game by default? Think of it like this. If the first game sucked, there would be no sequels. If the first game was a horrible mess we would not pine for a sequel, a remake, an update, DLC, etc., Sure you can improve on the first game and each game after can be a step up but when it comes down to it, only the first game being a success will warrant anything to come after it, ergo the first game will always be the best game.
This was obviously designed by the guy behind the first Sonic the Hedgehog designs from the Sonic movie. Because nothing SCREAMS fun like a purple RECTANGLE that sort of resembles a speech bubble? Wow... "Like Dullsville Man"
When are y'all gonna stop using BLOOMBERG as a reliable source. They have been wrong on every single front and yet you keep printing stuff from them. ?????
The car design looks like Choro Q / Penny Racers. Which made me long for a modern remake of the super fun and addictive PS2 game "Road Trip". It was part racer/ part RPG.
I must be the only person in the universe that thought that the N64 was a sh**ty system. The horrible graphics was the first thing that made it bad, then add in that stupid ass expansion pak, those god-awful controllers. Yeah a real sh** show from day one.
I was in High School 30 (cough cough) years ago when i read that Nintendo was turning 100 something. Really cool story that needs to be fully shared by the Big N.
I hated the N64, the graphics SUCK MONKEY ****s and as for the Genesis...... wow talk about buying the same games over and over and over again. How many freaking times does Sega get to repackage Sonic? I mean seriously dig out some real skeletons out of the Sega closets and offer those for a change. As for the $50 bucks per out dated controller, NOPE, not me, the N64 controller was one of the worst designs ever.
Chris Pratt as Mario is a huge no for me. Bob Hoskins would be a better choice than Pratt. But what an insult to Marinet. C'mon you keyboard jockeys that got them to FIX Sonic before his movie was released. Justice for Charles. No Charles, no movie.......
Am I the only person that finds it strange that this is being released by BOTH Strictly Limited and Limited Run Games? Both sites are hocking the game and at slightly different prices.
The load times on Switch is are a huge disappointment. I understand tech specs and all that crap, but seriously part of the benefit (or supposed benefit) of cart games is faster to non existence and that is not the case. Example of horrible load times Super Lucky's .... The game is fantastic and so much fun but damn the load times are through the roof. The Mario 3D World / Bowser's Fury was a pain in the arse with load times. As far as Sonic goes, the game shouldn't have been released with this many bugs and such high load times.
"Bob we know that you have no creative skills and are drunk most of the day but we have this really awesome game that we are releasing in America and other points west. We in upper management feel that, even though we have a team of high educated, and very talented people - with art school degrees, you are the best person for this highly important release. As soon as you are done with your design take it to your cocaine addicted brother Fred over in printing and have him run off a million or so copies. What's that? No, Bob you do not have to get the design cleared by us or the college art guys. We trust Fred and you to make this company proud.
The first wave of second and third party covers were always horrible on the NES for like the first year. Though honestly nothing was as bad as the covers from the ataris, odessey, etc, etc. those were some truly atrocious covers that had little to do with the game. Me personally i always had a warm spot for the NES "Black Box" game covers. Simple, direct and of course BLACK.
The problem here is internal memory and RAM. GUIs use way too much of the systems power that is needed for other items. Yeah sure once you click on a game to play the system will switch to what the priority is, but, these set ups would for surely need a bit of them running in the background in order to pull them up quickly and flawlessly when a player exits an app or game.
Plain and simple after nearly 8 years on the market its time for something new. But Nintendo is hung up on gimmicks, or as they call them innovations (i.e. MK Live). We will NOT see a new MK until we see a new system. Which in the current chip shortage situation will not be that soon. Hell the PS5 and Xbox Series whatever cant even get on store shelves right now. Nintendo has a captive audience right now (the pandemic, the shortage of competitor's systems). Now is the time for them to strike and strike hard. They need to listen to the consumers, they need to read complaints like all the ones on this and every MK discussion page. A brand new MK would easily break 4 million in no time. DLC (as long as priced right) will be a sure fire seller.
doesn't matter which country these get released in the F'ing scalpers and Gamestop employees will snatch up every bit of them and charge outrageous amounts for these. How do you kill that kind of problem over flood the market with these and keep them 100% in stock ALL the time, its that simple.
I bought my daughter the last Luminous Avenger IX, blah, blah, blah game and the little ****head beat it in 6 hours, SIX HOURS!!!!! So tonight she says "know what you can get me for my birthday" my hearing went all fuzzy because she was blabbing on about what ever the heck this was..... and being the Dad that i am I turned to her and said "NO". Oh, what fun it is to tease youth these days. Now she won't leave me alone about it. Bahahahahaha
The most Important part of this trailer is the Alessia Cara and The Warning's "Enter Sandman" redux. The Warning is an incredible band from Monterey Mexico. Check them out.
@Than64 I had a cousin who played and beat Atari 2600 game "Star Raiders" using only his feet. And believe me that was a feat, no pun intended, to beat the game normally.
Another rule breaker ..... Snail Maze is a relatively little known easter egg game hidden in early versions of the Sega Master System. It has never been available on cartridge or card, it is a hidden game that can be accessed when the Master System’s BIOS screen starts up, simply by holding up and 1+2 together on the controller.
@Classic603 I liked the original Zelda game, a link to the past and Link's awakening (switch remake). I liked the original Metroid and Super Metroid was okay. I just didn't really care for the games that went so far out of there way to be different that they no longer represent what made the game so much fun at the beginning. Yes a new game in a series should be slightly different to a degree and should offer new challenges, but they shouldn't leave EVERYTHING that made the original so great.
I cannot wait for all the hate from this statement, but seriously outside of a few select games I think the Zelda series of games sucks. Same thing with Metroid.
I picked up Mario Golf: Super Rush on day 1 and I am very glad that I did. It is an absolutely solid game. Simplistic controls make it easy for anyone to pick up and play. I will say it reminds me a lot of the Playstation Golf classic Hot Shots Golf, which IMO is not a bad thing.
There are only 2 SMUPs that I would like to see make a return.... Zaxxon and Viewpoint. I dumped soooooo many quarters in Viewpoint. And well Zaxxon was just the S**t back in the day.
Nintendo could have set Sony and Microsoft to the cleaners had they had the games that would have excited people. There was not a single surprise in the whole direct. I am sure that there are others that they are keeping tight lips over to release at a later date (closer to Xmas).
The one HUGE thing that EVERY single "LIMITED" physical release Co. should take to heart from this is producing the games before pre-orders ever even start. Shorter wait times for customers, means more customers are going to be willing to order.
I don't get how EVERY electronics manufacturer is complaining of chip shortages across the board, to the point that some of them are 1-2 yrs behind on orders and you expect us to believe that some how Nintendo has found a magical secret supply of chips. Not to mention that if they are going to "phaze out" the current model of the switch then why you and other media outlets keep reporting that Nintendo is "ramping up" production in order to keep up with the unforeseen pandemic rush on video games. Nintendo has had one of the best fiscal years in 2020 and is going to do nothing to mess that up. As for Bloomberg, they have "reported" that they have info on a new Switch for the last few years. I will admit that if (and when ) it comes out I will wait through the first year before I buy it ( just as I do with EVERY system. It gives them time to get the "bugs" out).
