The highly anticipated release LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was delayed (again) in April, but it seems TT Games will soon be showing us a little more.
According to Geoff Keighley, a new look "world premiere" of the upcoming Lego Star Wars game will be shown off at Gamescom's Opening Night Live - taking place next week on 25th August. Hopefully, the trailer locks in a release date.
When TT Games delayed the game for a second time, it explained how the team wanted to make it the "biggest and best-ever" Lego video game.
As usual, we'll be covering Gamescom, so keep an eye out for this new trailer on Nintendo Life next week. Are you looking forward to the new Lego Star Wars game? How about Gamescom? Tell us down below.

This needs online co-op, split-screen co-op, and local wireless. Tired of Lego games only have split-screen option.
Honestly the first LEGO game in a long time I'm legit excited for since it seems like it's actually breaking established conventions for the types of games they make typically like making it completely open-world and getting rid of dedicated hub areas or linear progression
1. Quake Remastered out yesterday and is a free update for steam users.
2. Warioware Demo out yesterday too. (which, i've really enjoyed)
3. Saints Row and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga being shown at gamescom!?
what a week for gaming news/releases for me. looking forward on New Information for Lego Star Wars Next Week!
This is unironically one of my most anticipated games for 2021 (hopefully)
No matter how long it takes to release it, it's still a Lego game and will be half off or more several months into its life
@TheFrenchiestFry OMG same, The lego star wars games were the first lego games I have ever played, And I can't wait.
I'm excited to see the Prequels and Originals... however, I'm probably going to ignore the sequels ever existed honestly.
Kylo Ren is my spirit animal. The sequel trilogy is ... just OK. But the scenes/plots with Kylo are gold, imo.
@Chocobo_Shepherd erm! You’re not getting the whole concept of a spirit ‘animal’ are you
This is gonna be a brilliant game! Super excited!
Gotta love how Lego can combine games as a collection and bring the hype!
@TheFrenchiestFry agreed, feels like it’s going to be a refreshing change, looking forward to it
But Rey is a Palpatine...
I'm split on whether or not it's still coming out this year, I really hope it is
Will Gamescom Opening Night Live be hosted on Nintendo Life this time?
I was hoping they’d re release the original complete saga collection while we waited.
I think this is my most anticipated release out of anything upcoming can’t wait xxx
Me and my daughter are waiting for this game since it was announced, we hope it will be good!
My first ever LEGO game was LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and followed shortly by LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy and finally culminating to The Complete Saga. I did play a bit of the two games that were released after, though at the time I wasn't really a fan of The Clone Wars and the Sequels. Either way, out of all the LEGO games, this is the one I have high expectations for.
Can’t wait to play as Yaddle.
Finally!!
May the brick be with you
@Chocobo_Shepherd Yes, Kylo Ren was the only good character of the sequel trilogy, and the only one who had a whole arc in the three movies.
The only Lego games I play are the Star Wars games. The Force Awakens was pleasantly amazing on WiiU, I loved the fact that when you played co-op, one player's screen was on the TV and the other was on the Gamepad, made the experience more engaging, specially during flight sequences. I'm looking forward to get this new one.
Go on, make my christmas and release it this year from October!!! Can't wait for this!!!
Give us a date now.
@Edu23XWiiU I have very good editing skills. I was considering trying to do a cut of all 3 movies where Kylo/Ben is the main character. I imagine I could cut all 3 movies down to like 2 hrs and have a pretty solid story there.
@HamatoYoshi hehe. I was being a bit loose with the term, yes. ^_^
@sleepinglion maybe this is probably one of the biggest lego games they are releasing because it’s is probably there most popular lego games. They are taking there time because they know it’s one of there big games, I think it’s going to be awhile before it’s gonna be discounted
It would be awesome if they had some mandalorian levels in it maybe as DLC or something since lego has had DLC in some of there previous titles.
Just shadow drop the damn game on Wednesday. We have waited long enough.
I've got my fingers crossed we'll see not only a solid Star Wars game here, but some much needed innovation to the core LEGO gameplay too.
Surely the fact they are revisiting Star Wars means TT have got something new up their sleeve for us? I hope so!
@TheFrenchiestFry Not every game needs to be open world and non linear.
Can't wait, but probably will wait for PC sale since it is a full price game according to Canadian Best Buy pre-order. ;(
We need more good licensed games on Switch. The PS2 era had loads. A good Lord of the Rings game would sell well I think. I know the Gollum game is coming, but who knows when.
finally we get a release date been waiting for this for a while.
I gave up on this game after the last delay. I only wait so long for things before I tire of them.
I kind of think a Lego series of The Mandolorian would be pretty epic myself though I don't really play a ton of Lego games. The last new one I truly enjoyed was Lego City Undercover. I have played the Harry Potter collection too, but didn't finish it since it started to feel too familiar between each of the games/films.
I am a fan of most LEGO video games. LEGO Star Wars Complete Saga was my first LEGO video game and still one of my favourites (Undercover is my fav one so far). The way they've made Skywalker Saga seems like it could genuinely be amazing (open world etc), we shall see.
Pretty excited for this, mostly for prequels stuff.
@Chocobo_Shepherd That'd be a great movie to watch: "The Tragedy of Kylo Ren".
