There's a reason I've been gaming on my SFC. I've given up on a modern Nintendo. There are plenty of great games for the Wii U but I'm not holding my breath for great things out of the NX/mobile.

SNES classic. Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series has nothing on SM RPG. The pacing, the humor, and scope were perfect for a casual RPG. I've made it a tradition to play this at least once a year.

edit2: And Nintendo still hasn't released it on the Wii U in NA (just Wii). One of the main reasons I've abandoned the VC.

If the game was officially released today by Nintendo, their millennial Treehouse team would probably shoehorn in dated and cringy meme's to try to be relevant. Sorry to sound so cynical.

Living in North America, I recently purchased a Super Famicom because I always loved the design over our boxy one. I can still remember reading an article in EGM about the Super Famicom and thinking they were two different systems because they looked so different.

@VanillaLake Yeah the 64 has an interesting design. One thing I never understood was why the original system was black and the cartridge slot and controller were grey. When I had mine, my OCD had to get the black controller and color the cartridge slot.

Super Famicom and the Dreamcast are still the best looking consoles to me. Simple, sleek, and symmetrical.

I bought Star Fox but for the Super Famicom. Sorry Nintendo.

other sites are going even lower on their scores. If anything I hope that this wakes up Nintendo and they realize they can't goof around with IP like this. I'm not one to tell Miyamoto what to do but I do get the feeling the guy needs to go back and ask "what made StarFox so much fun back in the 90s and how can we continue that?" instead of "how can I explore new ways to control the characters?". Not in a top tier IP sir.

Great article! I just want to point out that everyone enjoyed gaming when we weren't force fed cut scenes and story at every turn. The more Samus got a back story, the less gameplay we all received.

Games have had this issue for ages now. Shoehorning story into a gameplay based series. Do you need any story other than to beat Eggman? All that chatting adds nothing to the game.

Then the team of annoying tacked on characters in the Sonic universe. Ugh.

In Nintendo's strive to be different, they've lost sight of what's fun.

Starfox never needed to be anything else other than a Starfox game. Once they tried cramming too much crap into the games it got all messy. StarFox adventures would be fine under it's original name.

Recently made an original AGS-101 mod. Love the GBA since to me it was the SNES 2.0.

The linear GBA Metroids remind me how awesome and epic this release really was. The later games felt like taking a step back and used too much hand holding.
