While I found the demo kinda fun, I really wish anime IPs would get more 2D fighters rather than these arena fighters.
Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax and DragonBall FighterZ are examples of fun games that can be as casual or deep as the amount of time the player puts into them, while also being a treat for fans of the IP included.
Imagine if this and Jump Force were 2D sprite-based high-speed fighters. They would have been extremely fun.
Glad there's gonna be a demo. I love Kill la Kill, but IDK about a 3D fighter. I would have prefered a 2D fighter, or for the characters to be put into BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle or something.
Regardless, it'll take a bit for me to try the demo because Fire Emblem: Three Houses will be taking up all of my time.
@Muddy_4_Ever Exactly. The 3DS (and by extension DS) library is amazing. As a result, picking one up is still worth it if you haven't already because there are just so many things worth playing on it.
I have more games for my 3DS than any other system.
@MattFox People have been saying this for years, yet they themselves bought Atlus.
If they can buy Atlus, they probably are in a stable enough financial situation. They also are really successful with arcade games, which are still a thing in Japan.
Damn, I guess I'm the only one who really likes this game. Got into Under Night In-Birth because of it too.
I also picked up Persona 4 Arena, but I'm going to wait until after I play Persona 4 to start that one.
EDIT: Actually, a Taiwanese rating board apparently leaked "Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]" for Switch and PS4. Has that been reported on by Nintendo Life yet?
@Nomad
In the last few years, new games in various series have been released. Puyo Puyo, Valkyria Chronicles, Yakuza, 7th Dragon, and Virtual On have all gotten new entries. There's also a new Sakura Wars coming worldwide next year, Shenmue 3 is coming, and Streets of Rage 4, which people just would not stop complaining about, is finally coming soon as well. Oh, and Toe Jam and Earl: Back in the Groove was a thing too. (You can say that Sega isn't the publisher for the last 3, but they still own the IPs, and allowed for those sequels to happen.)
This "Sega only makes Sonic" thing is absolute horse poo, and it always will be. Just because a game YOU want a sequel to isn't being made doesn't mean they are neglecting their other franchises.
"An issue that was fixed in Ver.1.2.0 that was supposed to fix an issue with the control settings was insufficient"
Yeah I noticed, haha. The R button on my right Joy-Con is inconsistent on if it wants to work or not, so I often have to change controls to use ZR instead of R instead.
@AlternateButtons I don't know if this makes a difference for you, but the base P5 was released on both PS4 and PS3. So if you have a PS3, you can still experience the original game. (It's how I've currently been playing it.)
I'm interested in Taiko and the SNK collection, but for the time being I'm waiting and saving my money until I get my hands on Smash Ultimate before getting anything else.
This is... Interesting. Sakurai made the choices for characters before, right? Well, I guess he still is here, but from a pool of characters chosen by Nintendo themselves. I guess this means third parties might not be DLC after all?
And how does this bode for Rex & Pyra's chances? From the sound of it, the list was finalized today, so they might actually have a chance.
@DavidMac Personally, I'm hoping that at least GBA games will be released on the Switch. I'm out of room for games on my Wii U, and I don't really want to go to the effort of getting a hard drive for it just for the first two Golden Sun games, as much as I would like to play them.
@FNL Ok, but can we actually have Fire Emblem X Golden Sun now, because that sounds dope as heck.
Or actually anything Golden Sun, as I would like to get into that series... I have Dark Dawn, but I haven't played it yet, and I've heard it's not so great compared to the two before it.
I can't blame them for being apprehensive about releasing Yakuza on the Switch considering how badly the Wii U HD releases did. But this is a new era, and they should at least try to test the waters a bit. Maybe with a download-only port of Kiwami or 0 or something.
@MrVariant They are two different projects handled by two different companies. Comcept handled Mighty no. 9 and its Kickstarter campaign, while Inti Creates handled Mighty Gunvolt Burst and its advertising. (Also Mighty Gunvolt Burst is $10.)
Glad I held off on the Deluxe versions on Wii U and New3DS. I will be picking this up. Not sure if physically or digitally yet, though. (I have it digitally on Wii U thanks to the Humble Bundle.)
I played this on PC just a few months ago. It's a good game overall, but I feel that the controls could be a bit better. There have been times where the block doesn't react the way I expected it to based on my inputs, and it led to an accidental death.
For example, if you are near a wall, you will cling to that wall automatically, regardless of if you are pressing in the direction of the wall on the d-pad or not. As a result, you will wall jump in instances where you do not mean to wall jump, shooting you upwards in the direction opposite of the wall. In later stages, this becomes a big issue.
I love Kill la Kill, but I'm not very familiar with APLUS as a developer. (I know they did the Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time game, but I've never played it myself.)
At the SXSW panel, they talked about how they went back and completely redesigned a boss based on backer feedback, so I think they are doing a good job of listening to the people supporting their game. Here's hoping the final product is really good.

Re: Review: Mighty Switch Force! Collection - A Great Bundle From A Classic Series
Surprised to see no mention of the HD Rumble. It's really good in this collection.
Bought this for Academy (which I've never played before), but have also had a lot of fun replaying the others. These are great games.
Re: Review: Kill la Kill: IF - An Underwhelming Arena Fighter That's Only For Fans Of The Anime
@Toshiro_Baloney Did you do the story mode? I had just jumped straight into versus mode. I haven't tried the story mode in the demo yet.

Can't wait to pick up my pre-order. Sad that this might be the last 3DS game.

They even have the brand of the exalt in Lucina's eye. That's awesome!
Re: Review: Super Robot Wars T - Enjoyable Tactical Mecha Goodness For Returning Fans And Newcomers Alike
This will be my first Super Robot Wars game.
Still can't believe Cowboy Bebop got representation though, that's pretty cool.

Re: Limited Run Games Is Working On A 3DS Physical Release
Good. 3DS support shouldn't completely end. Some games are better suited to it. WarioWare Gold and Persona Q2 are both good examples of such.

The Gunvolt games are also really solid.

Don't forget about Runbow and Indie Pogo. And the CommanderVideo trophy in Smash Wii U.

Cowboy Bebop is joining the series, huh? That's pretty sweet.

YouTube for me.

Better late than never! Will download this once I get home.

Re: Nintendo Is Closing The Official Wii U Facebook Page This Friday
While this is sad, I think the day the Wii U will really finally be completely gone is December 7th. Because reasons.
(Won't stop me from finally getting around to games I haven't gotten to on it yet, like Tokyo Mirage Sessions.)
Re: Random: Sega Shares 10-Hour Mix Of Sonic Adventure 2’s Pumpkin Hill Rap, Because Why Not?
You are not looking for the Chaos Emeralds in Pumpkin Hill. You are looking for shattered pieces of the Master Emerald.
Re: Waluigi Fans Cause More Drama At PAX Aus With '#WahtAboutMe' Super Smash Bros. Protest

It's not bad for a dollar.
Re: Team Cherry's Decision To Cancel Hollow Knight On Wii U Was Hard, But Ultimately For The Best
@Kalmaro
You say that, but I know someone who had a Wii U (and not a 3DS, go figure), and I don't think they have a Switch.
Granted, of all my friends who had Wii Us (about 5) he's the only one like that.
Re: Sonic Double Pack For Nintendo Switch Listed On Amazon Italy
It makes sense, but I already own Mania Plus (and rented Forces), so there's not much point for me to pick this up.
It's good for those that are curious enough in trying both games though.
Re: Sega Still Thinking About Releasing Puyo Puyo eSports Outside Of Japan
I would prefer a Switch version of Puyo Puyo Chronicle, tbh. (The one with an RPG-like story mode.)
The content in this seems too similar to what's already available in Puyo Puyo Tetris.
Re: Bandai Namco Localising Two Sword Art Online Games For Switch
@DanteSolablood
They have crossed over before, due to the games for both being done by Bandai Namco.
Re: Bandai Namco Localising Two Sword Art Online Games For Switch
Never played the games before. Now I have a good chance to give one a try.
I hope the Accel World crossover gets ported to Switch at some point too, as that was the main one I was interested in.
Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Is Really Happening, Thanks To The Team Behind The Wonder Boy Reboot
Gotta support this so that other series may get similar treatment.
That's the key here. You want Golden Axe? You want Skies of Arcadia? This is the first step.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst is a much better game than any portable version of Mighty no. 9 ever will be.
