I think I managed to play one of their earlier games before and liked it. Keeping an eye on this one.
[Off-topic] NL, Where's the news of Kamen Rider Climax Scramble Zi-O for Switch? It will have an english subs for the first time unlike SD Gundam G Generation Genesis for Switch but only in Japan.
Love this style! Project X Zone was a highlight on the 3DS
I'll be getting this one just like the last two. Only difference, finally on Switch!
So many series I love in here. Gunbuster, Shin Getter Robo, and Dunbine are top of the list.
Yes. YES!
Cowboy Bebop? Interesting.
So it's basically just Project X Zone without none of the license stuff from Capcom, Namco, Nintendo, and Sega? I could dig that.
@Gamerhenky I almost peed my pants and then I remembered the climax series is a fighting game
Thanks for the information anyway, cool stuff!
Oh man this is so exciting, especially with Cowboy Bebop. I’m hoping this comes west.
Never thought I'd see Captain Harlock in a SRW game. Kinda wanna see how he interacts with some of the other characters.
@retro_player_22 Yeah, these have been releasing since all the way back with the Famicom. Fun games. Even better now that they've started adding English text.
I love these games, but very few managed to make it to a western conversion. I’m not getting too excited until they announce it for the US and Europe...
@Steevil It's licensing issues unfortunately, so i don't think US and Europe, only available in Japan and Asia only, so let's hoping Switch version having English subs will be included like Kamen Rider Climax Scramble Zi-O did.
Chances of it coming to the West? God only knows but regardless I'll get it and would prefer it with english subs. Been playing these since the SNES days through high quality fan translations. Always skipped the chibi looking ones though, but I like the art style of this one. Can't wait, please I pray they get English subs.
This looks great. I hope it gets localized!
@retro_player_22 It's a different style of gameplay compared to Project X Zone, instead of comboing, you get to select what armaments/weapons/techniques you use before initiating a fight and you can access stronger attacks the higher your level of focus is.
They all follow the same turn based tactical RPG's of old, and it rewards you with accomplishing hidden or difficult objectives such as killing five enemies with a single weapon with a single unit in a single turn.
@Steevil V and X was released on the western market with complete translations and these are the latest games to be released. If it's releasing on PS4 in the West, it's releasing on the Switch on the west too.
@MaSSiVeRiCaN You have to import it instead, i don't think there would be Western release (US & Europe) because the reason of licensing issue.
Is that like a Smash game for mecha fans? All those robots look the same to me...
Wouldn't Spike's Swordfish from Cowboy Bebop be tiny compared to those mecha? It was a small fighter, no bigger than a modern fighter plane. Mecha are usually several stories tall.
I know I watched Magic Knights Rayearth for a bit when I was a kid, but I completely forgot what it looked like. All I remember is that it was a magical girl anime that had mecha.
Magic Knight Rayearth? Isn't that magical girl anime series I don't remember that show having mechas. Also everyone should check out my Sega Satakore Collection covers it includes Super Robot Wars F and Super Robot Wars F Final: https://www.deviantart.com/laytonpuzzle27/gallery/67284725/Sega-Saturn-Collection
@Gamerhenky Licensing issues aren't much of a hurdle these days if its predecessors (X and V) were released in the west for the PS4.
@Gamerhenky I have a Japanese eShop account as well. I’ll just use that download it digitally. Thanks for the heads up.
Asian version of Super Robot Wars games on PS4 is in english. I wonder if this will be the same for Switch or not?
@LaytonPuzzle27
Not a magical girls anime and they do have mechas, well their djinns are basically mechas.
Cowboy Bebop on the other hand...
@link422007 Those technically didn't release in the west. They were released in other Asian markets with English translations, but not in North America or European territories.
Zero gameplay, good promo.
I'm mostly a fan of the Endless Frontier spinoff.
Oh wow, Magic Knight Rayearth. I remember reading that a long time ago.
I wonder what's going to happen when Banpresto runs out of letters to name their games.
Still though, I remember seeing a Pokemon bootleg version of a GBC Super Robot Wars game and wondering when Nintendo will make a crossover happen legitimately. Sounds like something that would work well together.
@SDF_Macross77 completely off topic, but major kudos to your username and profile pic. Always nice to see another Macross and/or Robotech fan.
@link422007 I hope so! But I'll get excited when it is announced!
@Guitar_bard Thanks! Good to hear from a fellow fan. I started out watching Robotech as a kid then I read the books. Once I found out it was made up of 3 different anime I watched the originals and fell in love with the Macross universe. Still my favorite anime. I'm sad there's isn't any Macross in this. At least not yet.
@SDF_Macross77 Same background here. I still have all of the Jack McKinney books!
If Harlock is in this game, I don't know why they couldn't have some Veritech love as well.
Even better: I would love if they remastered the Robotech game from the Gamecube days for the Switch.
G Gundam? But I want Wing...
@Gamerhenky LOL Want Kamen Rider/ Gundam/and This in Engrish pls!
@Aerona They even could have put Iron-Blooded Orphans or Unicorn and I would have been happy.
@Gamerhenky A) this isn't the first time english text is in a kamen rider game, that would be Climax Fighters and B) i imagine nintendo life wouldn't really cover games that are of a rather niche market over here.
@TokuWaffle Sorry i'm refering to a first-time on Nintendo Switch console to have an English subs even though they only release in Japan and Asia.
Just leave a note here, Bamco SEA already released it's own trailer with English language so it's pretty much confirmed too

Cowboy Bebop is joining the series, huh? That's pretty sweet.
Of all the names on this list, I've only heard of GaoGaiGar, Getter Robo, Gunbuster, Votoms, Aura Battler Dunbine, G Gundam, GunXSword, Expelled from Paradise, Cowboy Bebop, Capt Harlock, & Magic Knight Rayearth. However, I've only seen G Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, & the CG animated Capt Harlock movie, so it strikes me as kind of a weird decision to put Cowboy Bebop and Capt Harlock into a game full of giant robots.
Known of this game series for a while. And I recognize some of the names of the featured anime of this particular game, despite having watching a few, and not completely.
Was interested in this game, until I didn't see "Darling in the Franxx" included. No buy. Nah, j/k. May give it a try, if I decide to do so.
I do want a comprehensive list of series featured in the games. I know "Gurren Lagann" and "Code Geass" was featured in past games, iirc.
