I was at the panel, and the hype was real. It's great that Mighty and Ray are coming back to the games for the first time in years. Nobody saw this coming.
I already have Mania digitally, but I'll likely pick up the physical version instead of updating the digital version (they said pricing for the Plus content in the digital version will be discussed at a later date) because the goodies that come with the physical version look so good.
I'll say the same thing here that I said on the Sonic Stadium message boards:
I love the All-Stars series because it had great gameplay on top of really cool and diverse worlds and characters. When I first started playing these games, I thought it was awesome seeing stuff from Super Monkey Ball and Billy Hatcher get included, and I was introduced to series like NiGHTS and Virtua Fighter. I still want to try out Skies of Arcadia some day should it ever get a re-release, because Vyse seems like a cool character and the Rogue's Landing stage was excellent. (Plus I just love RPGs...) And now that I've played a lot more Sega games, I was really rooting for representation from stuff like Streets of Rage and Comix Zone, or even more modern stuff like Yakuza and Valkyria Chronicles, or even Puyo Puyo. (I know the Tennis game had a Puyo Pop Fever mini-game, but I mean character representation... Someone like Arle or Amitie would be cool to see playable.)
By making it Sonic only, I feel there would be a lot less variety in characters, stages, and music, and the game would just feel kind of bland compared to what came before. It's like if Super Smash Bros. 5 had only Mario characters, stages, and music. I'm sure this supposed Sumo-developed Sonic racing game will be fun and excellent in it's own right, but I'd always be thinking in the back of my mind "man, it sure would be cool if the Sega all-stars got in on this."
I already got the original in the Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle, and enjoyed it.
But I tried the demo for Freedom Planet 2 on Steam recently, and it seems to fix some of the problems I did have with the original, so I hope we get that one on the Switch as well.
My all-time favorite DS game on Switch with a new story scenario?
Yes please. Day 1 purchase.
If it is anything like the mobile versions we'll also have the full versions of the songs to listen to in-game, including the Kingdom Hearts 3D remixes.
The appeal of Smash for me is the crossover aspect. Seeing Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, Pikmin, and Xenoblade characters and worlds (plus a whole lot more) come together in a celebration of Nintendo's past and future, with a handful of third-parties along for the ride.
Brawlout just seems boring by comparison. Indie Pogo looks more interesting to me...
I don't get the whole "I don't wanna play my 3DS anymore because of the Switch" argument, and never will. I'm able to go between the two just fine. I'd prefer games on the Switch, but it won't make me not play a game that's only on 3DS...
Anyway, this one has 3D huh? Awesome. I was wondering why the first two didn't have it, but it's kinda strange to implement 3D now when most have just stopped bothering with it. You'd think the first two would have 3D, and this one wouldn't.
Love it. It looks like what I think most people were hoping Mighty no. 9 would end up looking like.
8-Bit was cool with 9 and 10, but IMO it would have gotten kinda stale if they did it again. Plus it's been years since Mega Man has gotten a new game, so I think something a bit more grand than another 8-bit title (especially in an era where games like Shovel Knight and Mighty Gunvolt exist) is needed for his triumphant return.
I will always be in the minority of people who just doesn't like Zelda that much.
I LOVED Breath of the Wild (and it was the 1st Zelda I finished), but that's mainly because it's so different compared to the past entries. (Voice acting, more focus on exploration and combat, etc.)
For the most part, the series just doesn't jive with me.
Whenever I'm just about feeling burnt out on this game, they do an update like this that pulls me back in.
Sacred Stones (via 3DS Ambassador Program) was my first Fire Emblem game, so seeing Joshua and Lute get in makes me extremely happy, especially as I've been wanting them in Hereos. Their artwork is fantastic, too.
These rewards aren't bad, but I'd replace Rise of Lyric with one of the Mario & Sonic games on Wii U or 3DS, and the 3DS version of All-Stars Racing Transformed with the Wii U version.
As long as they are trying to persuade third parties to update their games to take advantage of the feature, I'm happy. I was extremely disappointed to hear that it only worked in, like, four games.
This was a really cool game. I enjoyed seeing so many different fictional characters and worlds across different media crossing paths when they normally never would. Heck, they even were able to get the original voice actors for most of the characters!
Maybe it would have worked better as a standard Lego game rather than a toys-to-life one, but I'll always love the concept. If there's a sequel one day (that isn't free to play), I hope that they'll be able to incorporate Star Wars, since that was the franchise that really kicked off the Lego video game series.
I'm very thankful that they are finally putting Apollo Justice on the 3DS eShop. Better late than never, and the upgraded graphics look great. I borrowed and finished the DS version from a friend so I could have the story context for Dual Destinies onward, but I'll probably pick this version up in an inevitable sale later down the line.
And yeah, I know it's disappointing that Dai Gyakuten Saiban 1 and 2 have yet to be localized, but the reality is Capcom doesn't seem to want to bring them over. I really hope they change their minds someday though, as I would really like more new Ace Attorney games.
I've gotten back into Stella Glow recently, so I'll likely be playing that this weekend. My plan is to finish it before November, but who knows if I'll actually be able to pull it off?

Re: Mysterious 'Project R' Sonic Racer Teased By Sega
@Shiryu
This is probably a small nitpick, but the event is called "SXSW" (South by Southwest), not "SWS".
Re: Shantae And The Pirate’s Curse Comes To The Switch Next Week
I already have this on Wii U and 3DS... And STILL have yet to play it.
:/
Re: GameMaker Studio 2 Comes To Nintendo Switch
I really hope this means Indie Pogo will make it to the Switch at some point.
Re: Super Smash Bros. For Switch Is Coming This Year, And It's Got Inklings
Well this certainly threw me for a loop.
Re: Sega's Shining Series Returns To The West After A Decade Away, And It's Coming To Switch
It's a Sega game that was originally Japan-only coming to the west.
I really liked 7th Dragon III, so I'll be supporting this game as well.

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors' Second DLC Pack Will Be Released Next Week
I decided to wait until the Awakening pack is near release to buy the Season Pass.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Probably Mega Man 3, as I finally started that up via Legacy Collection recently.
Re: Sega Is Getting Ready To Show Us What's Next For Sonic The Hedgehog
@BanjoPickles
Did you pick up 7th Dragon III, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Tembo the Badass Elephant, either Bayonetta game, or any of the Yakuza games?
Those seem like "expanding" to me.
Re: Sega Is Getting Ready To Show Us What's Next For Sonic The Hedgehog
Anybody else going to be at the panel itself? I went the last two years, and I had a blast both times. Can't wait to see Tyson Hesse this year.
Re: Raise The Chequered Flag Because Mario Kart Tour Is Racing Onto Mobile Soon
How would this even work? I'm interested in seeing what this looks like.
Hopefully we'll get more info soon.
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Service Will Go Live This September
The "Classic Game Selection" thing is actually pretty exciting. I can't wait for that.
Re: News: Fire Emblem Heroes' First Anniversary Update Detailed by Nintendo
I am probably a lot more excited for the Tap Battle mode then I reasonably should be.
Re: Random: Turns Out Everyone's Favourite Video Game Analyst Was Right, Nintendo Fans Will Buy Cardboard
Gotta be honest, this was the first thing I thought of when Labo was announced.
Re: Cheeky Facebook Tease Suggests Freedom Planet Might Be Heading For Switch

Re: Video: Retro Emulation Finally Comes To Switch Following Homebrew Hacking Efforts
My right ear enjoyed the first two videos.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 May Be Getting a Physical Release
I already got it digitally as a gift from a friend.
Excellent title, though. Even better than the 1st one, which was already a great game.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th December (North America)
I'll be getting the Mighty Gunvolt Burst DLC characters that were released today.

Re: Zen Studios Working On Pinball FX3 Patch For Switch That Brings 1080p Docked And 60fps Handheld
The frame drop from docked to handheld was a bit jarring, but I personally didn't see any major issues in the free tables.
Then again, my TV is pretty small, so...
Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Gets Into the Festive Spirit With Daft Outfits
If I manage to get even just one of them, I'll be happy.
But I hope I don't pull duplicates again... I got two Bunny Xanders in the spring event, lol.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th December (North America)
Holy moly! There's a lot this week!

Re: The Legend of Dark Witch 3 Gets Closer to a Full Reveal, With Switch Ports Possible
I still need to finish the 1st one. It was a fun little game from what I remember.

OMG, this looks super fun! Can't wait to try it out!
Re: Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 4 Is Marching Towards Nintendo Switch
Excellent news! It also reminds me that I need to go back and finish the first one...
Re: Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Overdrive Heads To Switch Early Next Month
If I didn't already have this on Steam (along with the Kurisu DLC), I'd pick this up.
Granted I don't have Frau, but I'm sure I can get her for fairly cheap soon enough.
Re: Random: Pokémon Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over Pikachu Talking

Hey can I offer you an egg in this trying time?

Re: Capcom to Bring Increased Support and Ace Attorney to Switch in 2018
ACE ATTORNEY ON SWITCH! YES!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE INFO!!
Re: Hulu Video Streaming App Out Today For Switch In North America
Awesome news, I hope YouTube and Crunchyroll follow too.
Re: My Nintendo in North America Adds New Sonic Rewards

I'm... Not really feeling this demo, to be honest.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th October (North America)
I continue to keep scoring pre-orders on special editions for Fire Emblem games.
If the new main series one on Switch next year has one, I'll hopefully be able to secure that too.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)
Can't wait to pick this up on Friday. I have Hyrule Warriors, but never got around to playing it, and I like Fire Emblem a lot more than Zelda.
Re: There'll be a Free Fire Emblem Warriors Japanese Voice Pack to Download
This is good to hear. I wish they had of done the same thing with Fates and Echoes, especially since Awakening had dual audio.
Re: New Story Trailer For Apollo Justice On 3DS Reveals Release Dates For North America & Europe
@Lord
Consistency, if I had to guess. Every main series Ace Attorney game is available in the 3DS eShop except for Apollo Justice... Until now.
I'd imagine the next entry would be on the Switch. Probably.
I'll miss dual screens for Ace Attorney...

Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch eShop Games of 2017 - Fall / Winter Edition
Dragon: MFD, Rocket League, and Pocket Rumble for me.
Re: Review: Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle (Switch)
@JedRock
There's a new Virtual On coming next year. Its a crossover title with the Index series, but the gameplay is completely Virtual On.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch Retail Games of 2017 - Fall / Winter Edition
FE Warriors, Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade 2 baby!
