Re: Blaster Master Zero Lays Waste To Switch And 3DS On March 9th

OdnetninAges

Inti Creates made Mega Man 9, the Mega Man Zero games, and the Azure Striker Gunvolt games. They are also developing the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

And you only credit them as the devs for Mighty No. 9, a game they helped out Comcept with. -_-

In any case, I'm quite excited for this one. Now that it is going to be on Switch, I'll pick that version up since I can play it on the TV and it includes multi-player. And bonus character DLC sounds cool, as long as it's free like for Runbow. I hope there are some character-exclusive abilities, such as Gunvolt having electric attacks and prevasion outside of the tank or something.

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Microtransaction Prices and Early Impressions Emerge

I don't like microtransactions, and while I really wish this didn't have any at all (would MUCH rather have a one-purchase experience like with Super Mario Run), it still looks like a fun little game and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit excited for it. (I mean, I voted every day in the Choose Your Legends thing...)

Still much more excited for Echoes and Warriors, though.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

OdnetninAges

Well the presentation convinced me to get one sooner rather than later, so it must be doing something right.

Personal highlights were REGION FREE!!, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Fire Emblem Warriors (I wished for this directly before the presentation started), and Breath of the Wild (if I'm able to get a Switch on launch day, I'll get the Switch version). "Arms" didn't quite click with me at first, but it's slowly growing on me the more I look into it. (The control set up kind of reminds me of the arcade version of Virtual On, which I loved.)

I also got pretty excited for the announcements of Puyo Puyo Tetris getting localized for the Switch (and PS4), and Sonic Mania coming to the Switch (will probably cancel my PC special edition pre-order if Switch gets a special edition too). And apparently there's a new Bomberman coming to the Switch? Who saw that coming?

If there was one thing I didn't like, it was the announcement that online will cost money now, which I don't think anyone likes.

Re: Deals: There Are a Lot of Festive eShop Discounts in North America

@ap0001

I got 90 hours of play time out of the original trilogy, so approximately 30 hours of gameplay for each of the three games included. Dual Destinies gave me about 34 hours, but I got 48 hours out of Spirit of Justice. (Not including DLC.)

Your best bet would likely be the original trilogy, and then getting the rest of the games if you like the trilogy. The games are (in my opinion) at their best if you play them in chronological order. For example, I really liked Spirit of Justice, but I probably wouldn't have liked it as much as I did if it had been the first game in the series I played (if that makes sense).

In that case, the order would be:

Trilogy (original, Justice for All, and Trials and Tribulations)
Apollo Justice (4th game) (Not on eShop for some reason)
Dual Destinies (5th game)
Spirit of Justice (6th game)

(There's also Investigations and Layton vs. Wright, which are also good games, but you can play them at any point really. They might take place after Trials and Tribulations canonically, but I'm not sure.)

As for which one is the best, that's entirely subjective, but I believe Trials and Tribulations is my favorite. Again though, that's because I played the first two games beforehand.

Hope this helped!

Re: Nintendo of America Outlines 'Nintendo Switch Preview Tour'

OdnetninAges

YES! THEY'LL HAVE IT AT THE SXSW GAMING EXPO!

I was hoping that would be the case since they had similar events previous years (3DS, early access to upcoming Wii U & 3DS games, the real-life Mario Kart along with Mario Kart 8 demos, etc.), but it's great to have official confirmation!!

I'm so hyped!!

Re: North American eShop Cyber Deals Include Over 40 Discounts

IMO, the Gunvolt games are awesome platformers, and Fire Emblem Awakening and 7th Dragon are both fantastic RPGs.

I'd definitely recommend those games if you like those genres. They even have demos to try out if you aren't sure. Awakening is easily the best deal for half-off, though.

It's worth noting that Project X Zone 2 can typically be found physically for $20 at retail/online. If you prefer physical copies, don't jump on this particular price drop.

Re: Nintendo Marks Sonic's 25th Birthday With Digital Sale In North America

OdnetninAges

Wii U owners that haven't picked up Racing Transformed yet definitely should. It's a fantastic game, and it might even have the bonus of getting you interested in other series (similarly to Smash Bros.). STEAR CLEAR of the 3DS version, though. It's easily the worst version. If you don't have a Wii U, pick the game up off of Steam or something later.

Apart from that, I really liked Lost World (Wii U), but a lot of people disagree with me on it, so I'd recommend trying the demo first.

Sonic Generations 3DS is worth a look for its sale price. It's kind of short, and not nearly as good as the PS3/Xbox360/Steam versions, but if you are a speed runner or completionest, you'll easily be entertained for a little while. I'd say there's a decent amount of content for its current price.
