Re: Super Mario Movie Director Talks Hopper Headaches And Wanting DeVito But Getting Hoskins

OdnetninAges

My friend had never seen this, the first Pokemon movie, or the Scott Pilgrim movie before, so we had a big movie night a few weeks ago.

I have to say, it sure was something. I found it to be entertaining mainly because of how bad it was.

The "Super Koopa Cousins" bit at the end was pretty funny, too. Now I know where that's from...

In any case, this was an interesting read. DeVito as Mario would have been hilarious.

Re: Sonic Runners, SEGA's Mobile Release by the Sonic Team, is Getting Shut Down

Damn, I just got my own smartphone and was excited that I'd be able to play this along with the Kingdom Hearts F2P game and Miitomo.

I mean yeah, there's the "Dash" games, but I've played both Dash and Runners on other's phones, and I found Runners to be a lot more fun, with (IMO) a great soundtrack to boot. It was also the first game to prove that Boom Sonic wasn't completely replacing Modern Sonic, and that Boom was a spinoff (that should have just stayed as a cartoon, honestly).

I guess I can still play it while it's up.

Not only that, but there's only 17 events. The console versions of these games I actually still got excited for (unlikely most people), but this seriously looks like a downgrade.

Thinking about picking up Sochi 2014 instead later on since I missed it when it came out (didn't have a Wii U at the time). This one just doesn't seem worth the asking price right now.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th March (North America)

Already have Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation (Special Edition, baby!), so I won't be getting that. I've been waiting for that 3DS HOME Menu theme though. I assumed it'd launch alongside Revelations since it wasn't available on February 19th. Japan has had it for a long time...

And yo, I might just pick up Shattered Crystal if it is on sale for less than retail (currently $20). I actually liked the demo for that. Won't touch Rise of Lyric even if it was given to me for free though, lol. That one's demo had glitches and problems just in its demo... It was soooooo bad...

Re: Here's Why SNES VC Games Can Only be Played on a New 3DS

OdnetninAges

They probably couldn't get it to go into the HOME menu without problems. The GBA games run similarly to DS and DSiWare games in that they can't suspend the game to go to the HOME menu, though I'm not sure what the technical details of that are. The SNES games likely had that same issue, and Nintendo probably didn't want their publicly available Virtual Console 3DS games to have that issue, so they made them New3DS only, which makes little sense IMO. I totally would have picked up EarthBound and/or Super Mario World on 3DS regardless of if you could go to the HOME menu or not...

Or they just wanted people to have more incentive to buy a New3DS, I don't know, there's little reason to upgrade now to begin with IMO.

Re: Interview: Learning More About The 'Ultimate Crossover' RPG, Project X Zone 2, From Its Creators

OdnetninAges

I played Fire Emblem Awakening and the original Project X Zone at around the same time (PXZ's NA launch week), so it's still a bit bizarre to see Chrom and Lucina in the sequel... I even thought that if there was a sequel that I'd like to see either Nintendo or Square Enix get in on the action, so it's awesome that Nintendo actually joined in, even if it's just with two of their games. I'll be busy with Fire Emblem Fates for a while, but I'll definitely pick up PXZ2 later down the line.

This was a very interesting interview. Thank you.

Same here. I really wanted to get the pre-order bonuses for this game, too. The HOME menu theme looks really cool. But alas, I can only buy so much... But hey, at least we're getting what's basically three new Fire Emblem games, and a cool carying pouch!

@ThrowMeBarrel

I only recognized about a handful of characters from the first game (having not even played a lot of the games they're from), and I highly enjoyed it.

@davidevoid

Glad to know I'm in the 1%.
