One of the surprise video game hits of 2020 is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout - a 60-player battle royale party title inspired by hilarious television game shows like Takeshi's Castle and Total Wipeout.
Mediatonic - the developer behind this relatively new release - has an FAQ on its website. Within this, it says it would "love" to bring the game to other platforms like the Switch and Xbox further down the line.
Following on from this, Switch dataminer OatmealDome has apparently found a "NintendoSDKPlugin.dll" file within the game's files on Steam. It's supposedly been present since the original version of the game.

As noted, the support for Nintendo's SDK (software development kit) doesn't guarantee it's coming to the Switch. If you're thinking this might just be linked to Pro Controller support for the game on Steam, it's likely not that, either. OatmealDome explains why in a seperate tweet:
There's also the possibility it's all an accident on Mediatonic's behalf:
What do you make of this? Would you like to see Fall Guys make the Switch eventually? Tell us down below.

Just announce it already!
Probably some timed console exclusivity deal with Sony though.
Just registered here to say... YES!!!! Please come to switch!
Inbefore someone complain about Data Mining especially Cosats that i heard frequently, if you do not like spoiler just DO NOT COMPLAIN to Nintendolife staff and click this article.
Let the other peoples know about spoilers just for curiosity.
I mean... the file isn't exactly hidden... and it'll be stupid not to release this on Switch.
One of the games im hoping for. Looks like a ton of fun and tailored for the switch. #JustDoIt
I'd like to have it on Switch sure! Seems like a great game.
Takeshi's Gameshow with Jelly Bean men, yes please.
Let’s hope it is sooner rather than later, I can’t see a better fit for the switch and it’s fab base.
@Friendly It's not that. They're a small indie team, and they said that can only support so many platforms at the same time. They'll probably bring it over to Switch and Xbox soon.
@0L1V14 They will probably use their own servers, so I don't think that should be an issue.
I thinks it's a matter of when, not if. Sony have a short exclusivity period on consoles, once that's over i think it will be out.
From what little I've seen of this game, it looks pretty cool. As a guy who loves 3D platformers, this might be the first "competitive" online battle-royale game I'm actually good at. I could be the Ninja of Fall Guys and become a super popular Twitch streamer, and everyone will call me a toxic load of cringe, but I won't care, because I'll be rolling in that sweet, sweet Patreon money, baby!!
This is a joke, before anyone gets mad at me. I do hope this comes to Switch, though.
Hopefully by the time it makes it to the Switch, the rotation of events is much better. Biggest issue with the game so far is that half of the games kinda suck.
I just hope it is still relevant by the time it makes the move over to Switch. I do have a PS4 Pro but I refuse to pay outrageous fees to pay online when I almost never want to, plus I’m more often not in a position to use the console but I do have easy access to the Switch at all times.
@FragRed If you haven't already, you can try PS+ for free for two weeks, and download the game with it. That's what I did, and I'm essentially playing the game for free now.
It's a €20 game, so I may put that towards a 3-month PS+ sub instead, so I can continue to keep playing. I already got the game for free, so it's not really a loss in that case.
My Computer is a potato, and I Don't have a PS4, So a switch release is what I have been hoping for! If this dose come, I will be real happy!
Fall Guys does appeal to me, was thinking about getting a PS Plus subscription just so I can play it and I've never bothered with PS Plus in all the years I've had PlayStation consoles.
Hope it comes to Switch soon.
@RPGamer Haha, thanks, man!
We already know the devs want the game on other systems and Nintendo Switch is pretty much the hottest property around at the minute. It should not be a surprise that developers want their games on the console but it is just a matter of whether they can get the games on the system in a playable state or not.
Hope the game does come but I am not personally interested in it.
why is this game so popular?
@Anti-Matter
I think if the spoiler is in the article headline then that is a reason to complain.
The Article Headline could just be
"Dataminers find something interesting in Fall Guys".
Also people can do what they want.
It’s brilliant, one of the best online games I’ve played. Can’t wait for season 2.
Just to be sure. I really had damn fun with Fall Guys on PS4 and even won twicr but its a free game for PS+ users. Wondering if anyone would buy it at a price cause I sure heck will not.
The game would feel at home on Switch, that is undeniable.
This game is absolutely 100% coming to Switch eventually, I'd put money on it!
My money’s on timed exclusivity with Sony for 6-12 months, this game will be on everything with a screen EVENTUALLY. Certified hotness. Just don’t expect it any time soon.
Oh NintendoLife and its DATAMINES articles. Add this to the other NintendoLife articles of what a random person says on Twitter with the articles of Next Week or the Next-Next- Next Week a Nintendo Direct may come and you've got 95% of NintendoLife articles. Wii U era may had less games and gamers following but a much better NintendoLife.
This game is so funny and colorful!
Fall Guys is what Mario Party online should have been.
@RPGamer
Cosats can do what he wants bud.
Stop using all caps like a muppet.
It's such a well executed simple concept. Enough depth that anybody can pick up and play, but competitive at the same time. Great visuals and a soundtrack that complements the theme!
My only issue with the game is input lag on jump. I can get used to the high turn radius, but the delay from hitting the button to actually jumping can throw me off. It's not a 'tight control' platformer, but that's probably by design to make the game more reckless!
I do believe it is a timed exclusive. Cross platform for this game would be incredible at launch though since you do need online subscription and to fill out lobbies and maintain longevity of install base
@Cosats You know you can always just leave if it’s so bad here. I personally like stuff like this. It’s harmless and it gives us a look at what might actually be coming, plus it generates discussion. You’re just wasting everyone’s time (including yours) with comments like the one you left. If you hate it here, do yourself a favor and stop visiting. You’ll be happier.
Pleeeease be true, I'm not buying it on Steam until someone confirms it's officially not coming to the Switch. This is the type of game I wanna play on a Nintendo platform!
@thesilverbrick
Anti-matter called him out and I imagine Cosats is playing to the crowd. Anti-matter contributed nothing to the actual story.
Also doesn't change the fact Cosats can say what he wants and you are free to ignore him too.
I note you didn't even mention anything to do with the article yourself so your comment is equally a waste of time, as my comment to you is too.
@Octane @0L1V14
Like Octane said, a lot of 3rd party games use their own servers. I have played Monster Hunter online on Nintendo systems in general and they have always ran decently well, including MHGU on Switch.
Then there's Nintendo's own games...with constant lag, disconnection errors, and all that fun stuff. coughsmashandpokemoncough
It's a pretty fun game, got it on PS plus for free. But it can be seriously frustrating, somewhat random as far as being able to qualify. It's great in short bursts, with the graphics and that it was dumb to not start out marketing it to switch players.
@Friendly It's on PC as well so that exclusivity would be pointless
@Joeynator3000 One day people will stop using the cringy cough cough gag. Why can't people just say what they're pretending not to say? (not sure if that made any sense honestly).
@TheFullAndy Of course he’s free to say whatever he wants, but if you read his post history you’ll see a slew of complaints against this website as a whole. I don’t understand why people who hate this site so much and complain about it all the time even stick around. They’re free to leave, but they seem to think that their negativity needs to be voiced in every single article they don’t find 100% interesting. Also, this guy seems to have a strange idea that datamining is illegal or unethical, and has said as much in the past. And Anti-Matter calling him out before he even posted was unnecessary, as well. Don’t think for a minute that I’m somehow siding with him.
The long and short of it is, I’ve been regularly posting on this site for over seven years now, and in recent months, the comment sections on these articles have grown increasingly toxic. I have not noticed any difference in quality in the journalism here as of late, but people seem to be more negative and entitled than ever, whining and complaining if every article post it isn’t exactly aimed at their narrow interests. They bring nothing to the table except trollish criticism of this site, and it makes me wonder why in the world they even bother visiting here. They waste their time and everyone else’s by whining about every post, and I just happened to call one of them out.
And I definitely made reference to the original article in my post. I said stuff like this is harmless and interesting, and it gives us a preview of what might come next. I can’t imagine how you missed that. If anything, you’re being a bit hypocritical saying my criticism is worthless while posting criticism of your own.
@thesilverbrick
You will note the last few words of my reply to you adressed my potential hypocrisy but my first comment in this article talked only about the article at hand so it wasn't that hypocritical in the end. I didn't see anything in your comment that specifically addressed the topic of the article.
Also I agree with Cosats in some respect with regards to datamining, I just see it as a fun spoiler.
And frankly the quality of articles on Nintendo Life has definitely deteriorated over the years. There used to be a mission to review all the games coming out and whilst I do not expect that with the constant stream of games there has definitely been a marked reduction in the reviews of games and replaced by articles such as this which in the end do not amount to much.
Nintendo Life is still a quality site but constructive criticism should be welcomed and I do not see how someone's comments waste anyone elses time unless that person decides to react to said comments.
You say comments sections have become more toxic but your first comment was essentially telling Cosats to leave the site for good.
@TheFullAndy Sorry, in my haste to reply I missed what you said at the end of your comment. My bad.
I still fail to see any deterioration in the quality of the articles here. I get that it’s disappointing that not every single game gets reviewed like they did back in the Wii U days, but as you already stated, that’s understandable, given the flood of games on the eShop every week (with most of them being obvious shovelware). By and large, the same content that has existed for years is still present. There are just far more things happening in the world of Nintendo, meaning there is going to be a bit more content on this site. Sure, not all of it is geared specifically toward my interests, but I have the sense to ignore articles like that and certainly not comment on them, telling those who are genuinely interested that this whole site is worthless because certain articles aren’t written with me specifically in mind.
I agree that constructive criticism is a helpful tool, but most of the criticism I see lately isn’t that kind. It’s more of a “I don’t care about this exact game/topic/thought piece, therefore this site is trash” kind of criticism. To people like that, I’m simply asking why they even bother visiting. They seem to get zero enjoyment out of the content here and in the interests their own happiness, their time would be better spent elsewhere.
But I’m genuinely curious to hear your opinion on datamining. You are obviously an intelligent person whose comments are genuinely well thought out. What about articles pertaining to datamines do you disagree with? Again, genuinely curious.
@thesilverbrick
I am not a technical person, I don't know the legalities of it all, I just think datamining is willfully spoiling things and that I do not agree with or see the point of it, especially when it leaks future features in games moreso than Fallguys potentially showing up on Switch which is a "Duh" situation. It is like trying to search for the script of a unreleased film online, I just don't get it.
I have no problem with Nintendo Life having articles about datamining but keep the actual details out of the headlines which they can be guilty of not doing.
Also regarding the quality of the articles, I have been on this site from the start, the quality has definitely deterioated but it is more a sign of the times. Eurogamer used to be the creme de la creme but it also has gone downhill big time.
As I said a sign of the times and they should sometimes get some reaction to that.
@0L1V14 Well, Fortnite works flawlessly.
@Entrr_username console exclusivity is a big deal, though.
Fall guys would be quite fun from what I've seen of the videos of it.
@TheFullAndy yep, we do welcome constructive criticism.
The "spoiler" thing is difficult when it comes to rumours, ANY Fall Guys related post on NL would surely hint at the fact it might come to Switch? We have always reported on rumours as a large portion of our audience wants that, it's the site we wanted to create. It replaces what we had in the past where we'd meet up and discuss the what if's and what next of gaming. So whilst we'll accept that feedback it's not something we would change.
"There used to be a mission to review all the games coming out and whilst I do not expect that with the constant stream of games there has definitely been a marked reduction in the reviews of games and replaced by articles such as this which in the end do not amount to much."
It's true we aimed to review all wiiware/eshop games because it was possible, however, it's not possible to review all games on Switch. The facts of the matter are that we've actually increased the number of reviews in recent years, 608 in 2018, 503 in 2019. During the Wii U era it was between 350-450 year. So I have no idea why you'd think we're doing less reviews. We have more editorial staff now than before therefore more capacity for news and features.
We also have a wider audience than ever before, so what may be "obvious" to core readers, might not be so obvious to newer readers, Switch has broadened things massively for us.
@westman98 That makes way too much sense. I guess someone beat Nintendo to it.
@antdickens
Cheers for your reply, my comments may have come accross as a bit negative but at the end of the day Nintendo Life is still a quality website and although I moan, I understand that times have changed in this "live service" games world.
It's coming to Xbox and switch. It's gone viral, they need to get on every platform they can as quickly as they can, it will come.
@TheFullAndy I will agree that datamines are annoying when they’re reported on with obvious spoilers in the headline, especially when they relate to the plot or secret elements of an unreleased game or DLC content. And occasionally, this site isn’t as careful as it should be when it comes to spoilers. I do occasionally see headlines or subtitles that are misleading to one degree or another, but whether those are done intentionally or not, I can’t really say. Don’t get me wrong, NintendoLife isn’t perfect, but I am hard-pressed to find another site that reports on as much Nintendo content as this one does, and if the worst thing I have to endure is an occasional fluff piece or mild clickbait that doesn’t particularly interest me, I’m fine just ignoring those. They don’t immediately invalidate everything good that this site does.
