Re: Mega Man 11 Confirmed For Switch In 2018

OGGamer

Making this available on all platforms is a great move on Capcoms part . They should release Okami HD on switch too. I think it'll sell really well. Even better than on PS4.

Now how about a new MegaMan Legends Capcom?

@gortsi "barren my @ss"
😂 Here I'll put the numbers up anyway. In the 1st quarter of 2018 the switch is getting 11 games. That's 11 in the first quarter NOT even in January. That's straight from Nintendo's website. 4 In January. 3 In February. 4 in March. With 30 slated for a Q1 2018 release.

The PS4 has 13 games being released in January alone. 19 In February. 10 in March. With an additional 50 games slated for a 1st quarter 2018 release. Tell me again how plum full January is for switch? Only fanboys reject reality man. I like reality. Which is why I don't stick with one platform.

@Agramonte I knew exactly what you were saying. @gortsi and others on this site tend to be EXTREMELY sensitive if you dare say something negative, or seemingly negative, about their beloved Nintendo. I'm multiplatform as well because it makes the most sense. Years ago I got sick of drooling over games hoping that they'd show up on my preferred platform. Why do that when you can enjoy them all?

With games like Nier Automata, Horizon zero Dawn, Monster Hunter World, Dragon Ball Fighterz and more on PS4 I can't imagine hoping these games come to the switch. Some have resorted to begging. Which is pretty sad. Totally unnecessary.

Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch)

OGGamer

Man the people on here hatin on XCX are crazy. That game was awesome. The battle system was much more intriguing than the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Although I think the original was a better game and had a better story. XCX wasn't that far behind it though IMO. Some people got stuck with the augment system which is admittedly a bit complex but not the rocket science some make it out to be. That being said I look forward to playing this. It'll be awhile though because I refuse to buy a Switch until Metroid prime 4 comes out. Which is a LONG way away. Also, I HIGHLY doubt that this is a 9. It's likely a 10 and Nintendo life's inner fanboy granted BOTW an unworthy 10.

Re: Poll: Have Your Say on the Best Main Series 3D Mario and Zelda Games

OGGamer

The emotional era goes to Metroid prime 1/2 for me. Those are my favorite GameCube titles. Mario sunshine? Meh Twilight princess? Loved it. A close second to Metroid prime. Skyward sword? YUCK! Motion waggle trash.

This list only shows me how underappreciated and neglected Metroid is. Nintendo doesn't farm out Mario or Zelda but they did with Metroid and it shows.

Re: R-Type And Other Irem Arcade Hits Are Coming To Switch

OGGamer

@Jimgamer8 If they bring Rtype final I'll buy a switch yesterday. I still have my ps2 especially for Shmups. Rtype final and Gradius V are amazing. Props to Hamster for their work on some great ports. Now if Nintendo can get some Treasure games ported that would make it a guaranteed purchase from me. Radiant silver gun, Ikaruga, Sin and Punishment HD ( C'mon Nintendo it deserves it).

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath For Monster Hunter: World On Switch

OGGamer

Where was all this salt when the switch was released? Capcom announced a slightly upgraded hd port of a 20 year old game and a lot of the people on here were praising the hell out of that garbage. Many even bought said trash. You voted with your wallets and basically told Capcom "we'll buy your garbage ports". Don't complain now. YOU dictate the market not them. They're a company out to make money.

As for them dividing their monster Hunter community, they're not. XX was released in Japan where it's most popular. The dedicated fans in the west will buy the Japanese version since switch is region free. MH world was clearly designed to be a big home experience and I for one can't wait. Got mine on preorder. There's a lot of excitement and buzz from people who've never played a MH game. Many are in the PC camp. It may be a gamble on their part but it's a smart move considering the fan base of games with slow clunky combat like Dark souls. People who like the difficulty of dark souls will love the challenge in MH. What do Nintendo only gamers say about playing Zelda, Mario, or Kirby games? "You need to get a Nintendo console then". So guess what you need to do to play MH World?

Re: Super Meat Boy Releases on Switch This Year

OGGamer

@JoakimZ Oh no it's just garbage. I'm a patient and tenacious gamer. Difficult is good when it's fun. Meat boy is an ugly mess of a game. In more ways than one. Super ghouls and ghosts is an example of a difficult but fun game. As is G rank Monster Hunter and a host of other games. I tried to like super meat boy. After playing several levels I just gave up. It just wasn't fun for me.

Nice try at trying to insult me for my opinion though. Maybe you suck at every other game and that's why you like super meat boy? See how stupid that sounds? That's exactly how your attempted insults come off.

Re: BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Is Brawling Its Way To Switch In 2018

OGGamer

This is amazing news and a smart move on Arc system works part. Since Capcom is playing gun-shy with the switch Arc can just swoop right in and take the fighting game market share for themselves on the switch. Their fighters are superior to Capcoms anyway. I have no doubt that they'll bring over DBZ Fighterz and Guilty Gear if this one does well. THIS is the type of game you support Nintendo gamers! BUY IT!

Re: Soapbox: Breath Of The Wild Is Amazing, But Is It The 3D Zelda That Enthusiasts Expected?

OGGamer

Botw is a good game. What it isn't is a masterpiece. It fell short on story telling (it's supposed to be an action rpg WTH!). Fell way short on it's OST. Twilight princess' was better I thought. Fell short on character development.

There are other titles that hit the much lauded title of masterpiece. Nintendo only gamers will sadly miss many of them. Xenoblade Chronicles is definitely a masterpiece. As is Nier Automata and Shadow of the Colossus (controls needed work but that doesn't change it's status. It's also being Remade for PS4). Botw was a good attempt. The next Zelda built from the ground up for the Switch will reach that status.

Re: Take a Look at Three Musou / Warriors Games Heading to Switch in Japan

OGGamer

@CheddarSword I think your points are very reasonable and well founded. Which is why I'm not buying the switch until Metroid prime 4 comes out. Nothing else on the system really interests me. There's also far to much to play on PS4 right now and in the future. You've listed some great examples of the games people are missing out on because of their ravenous loyalty to Nintendo. Which is sad. Nier: Automata, Horizon zero Dawn, persona 5, The last guardian aren't just good games. They're GREAT games that rival anything put out by Nintendo. A couple of them I would label as masterpieces of gaming. Then look at what's on the Horizon. TWO Edf games. EDF 5 and EDF Iron Rain. Dragon Ball Fighterz, Monster Hunter World, The remake (not remaster) of Shadow of the Colossus, Code Vein, NiNo Kuni 2, and so so much more. It's a great time for gaming. As long as you're not a loyalist.

I mentioned this in another comment but this is what fans should come to expect. New exclusive titles that run well on the switch. If you're waiting for ports that run better on other systems then....why bother. Just get the other system that provides the superior experience. Here's an example of what Nintendo only gamers are experiencing : Capcom just announced the arcade edition of street fighter v for 39.99. Of course it's not coming to switch. Switch owners still get the privilege of paying 39.99 for ultra street fighter 2. A very old game. Stop rewarding this type of stuff Nintendo fans.

Re: Injustice 2 Director on the Possibility of Bringing the Game to Switch

OGGamer

He doesn't want to port. Ok then don't. How about building a new ORIGINAL game from the ground up for switch? This is what I miss about the 90's. You had games that were only on Nintendo and games that were only on Sega, and neo Geo etc. Developers created original content for each respective platform. Ex. Contra 3 SNES. Contra Hard corps Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I mean COME ON! Where's the love for the art? Some of the indie developers have their heads in the right place when it comes this.

Re: Sega Confirms Sonic Forces Is 720p, 30fps On Nintendo Switch

OGGamer

@SLIGEACH_EIRE That's true. Take Capcom for example. PS4 got street fighter V and the switch got the exclusive no one asked for, Ultra street fighter 2😐. To add insult to injury they just released the trailer for Street fighter V Arcade edition with all of the dlc included for 39.99. Guess how much Ultra street fighter 2 STILL is on Switch?

Gamers have to stop rewarding this terrible behavior from companies.

Re: Sony Doesn't Consider Handheld Gaming To Be A "Huge Market Opportunity"

OGGamer

@DairyOverdrive Sorry to splash ice water on you but it actually does describe the Switch. AAA support so far IS half baked. Sure there are some quality ports but they're dumbed down ports of superior games that already appeared on more powerful hardware. So what are you left with? Indies, lots of retro ports, and half baked AAA support --->Switch.

You want to know when we can stop saying that? When AAA studios start making exclusives for the Switch. Don't attack the messenger. Its the cold hard truth.

Re: Review: Sine Mora EX (Switch)

OGGamer

@Nincompoop Nex Machina is really a great game. So is resogun and Matter fall. I hope house marque brings their games over to switch. Their games are too good to miss out on.

Re: Retail Version of DOOM on Switch Will Need a Download for Online Multiplayer

OGGamer

@IceClimbers I'm not talking about ports of existing games. I'm talking about studios building new games and franchises. The Indies don't seem to have trouble doing that. In fact neither does Nintendo or Ubisoft. You can add monolith soft (Xenoblade), Platinum games (W101 Bayonetta 2), Treasure (Sin and punishment1,2), and even Capcom to that list.
Why play a watered down port when you can play a new experience using the best aspects of the system it's meant to be played on? That's what I meant.
