The Wii name will be dropped altogether for sure . I'm sure they've realized that the name has not helped them sell systems . Nintendo was hoping to get those millions of people who bought a Wii back on board to support the Wiiu . That doesn't seem to be happening and it's doubtful that it ever will .
The people running the company are very smart . You don't stay around for a hundred years without good having people on your team . It's hard to tell what direction they will take hardware wise . They are not exactly followers so I wouldn't look to the other systems as inspiration for what Nintendo will do next , especially since Nintendo partially focuses on affordability .
As far as names go I think they should go with the Nintendo Phoenix ! Rising from the ashes to the days of it's former glory . The snes days!

Release it here and I'll buy it for sure . Very reminiscent of sin and punishment 2 although with less detail to the stages . This looks like one of those games that will become rare and expensive in a few years so maybe I'll buy 2 copies

@InfernoUprising At the risk of sounding redundant I'll echo the other replies by saying "get it you won't regret it". It is not only one of the most unique games out there but it is , in my opinion of course , one of the best games on Wii U . Even with smash bros already out W101 is still my favorite game on the system . It has tons of replay value , fantastic set pieces the boss battles are amazing , and the secret code to play as bayonetta has been released !

@joey302 I could never forget the Turbo Graphix/duo/CD .I have Gate of thunder and Lords of thunder waiting for me in wii mode . I didn't mention it because at least the wii VC had some decent representaion from other consoles what with the Genesis , Snes , Neo Geo , turbo graphix and even some arcade ports . Sin and punishment was available on it for crying out loud ! Nintendo could at least release an HD port of Sin and punishment 2 and mischief makers and Fzero gx and Radiant Silvergun the list goes on and on .
I still love nintendo I just lament the fact that there is so much time and effort spent on porting games to wii u that would be more at home on the 3ds .

I really wish they would go beyond games that were released on the GBA . There is such a great catalog of games to be found on other consoles that would make great additions to the wiiu eshop. The sega saturn , the dreamcast , the n64 , the gamecube and so on . So many great games on those systems . It's a little disappointing to see Nintendo focus so much on porting gba games for a console meant to be played on a large TV.
The Wii had a good VC library and showed promise for the future . It seems that nintendo is moving a little backward on the Wiiu eshop .

I'm glad they just stuck with a new IP . Since Nintendo is already getting their feet wet with DLC I can see them adding a mario sunshine mode where you can use mario to clean up the mess you've made .

@Jllanos22 Yes exactly ! Not only did they delay watch dogs , they delayed it until the holiday season to compete with Smash bros of all games . Do they really think anyone is even going to look at watch dogs then ? Foolish decision not releasing it along with it's xbox 1 ps4 counterparts or even this summer when there are NO games to compete with on Wii u .

If you want to know what this mystery game is just head on over to the sony and microsoft booths . This game will be released on those systems first .

I'm okay with this . Now bayonetta won't have to compete with smash . This is win win as far as I'm concerned .

Savor every moment in xenoblade , it's a very long game that doesn't feel like it's dragging , to me at least . One of the best ever .

I wish some of these indies would favor hand drawn animation like blaz blu or something like that as opposed to pixel art . I love pixel graphics and all but change it up a bit . Hyper light drifter is a good example of a unique looking pixely game . If you have to do pixels can you at least follow the lead of one the best , Neo Geo ?

Why didn't you show the super screen clearing bomb on the 3ds version ?! The gba definitely had the better bomb but the 3ds much smoother for sure . It reminds me of those rebirth games on the wii , contra and gradius .

How many weeks in a row does nintendo want me to say "nothing for me this week"? At least GBA releases are coming as well as child of light in april . Well , back to MH3U .

This actually looks pretty good judging by the trailer . I'll consider a purchase digital or physical if reviews indicate it's worth it .

Yuck! This week stinks . At least ballpoint universe comes out next week and this gives me time to finish windwaker hd .

This makes it easier to buy ball point universe on the 18th of march . I'll buy this upon release especially since they are taking their time to polish it up a bit .

I see a few people on here saying "you should buy it it's a good game" . Well I bought it a week ago (6 bucks with coupon at gamestop) and already returned it . It's a good looking game with great sound , especially if you have surround sound . The problem is the controls . They suck , really truly suck in my opinion of course . With all it's speed Fzero gx controlled waaaaay better than this turd .
Alex Ward who just started his own studio , in other words his own business , needs to take a course in business ethics and customer service . His comments indicate that his comfort zone is behind a keyboard isolated from other human beings therefore making it difficult for him to communicate as a proper business man . His juvenile statements are visible to any and all potential customers and business partners . Hopefully he considers hiring a spokesman for his studio .

Yet another indie release I want . It's definitely time for a hard drive .

This is one of my most anticipated eshop games . I can't wait until march 18th or march period . Armillo also realeases in march and android assault cactus not long afterwards . The indies have a great couple of months ahead of them with no major first or second party releases . I only mentioned 2 but I know there are many more .

Brutally honest rebuttal is not how I would describe his comment . It's a repackaged version of the wierd stuff others devs say . As @Caviarmeths said , it would be much better and more honest to say "we won't make as much money on wiiu".

They should have had the wolf turn around only to see a hunter in full ratholos armor yielding dual blades ready to hunt HIM!

The wifi on the wii is getting shut off and instead flooding us with the wii vc games for wii u we get these crap games ? Just release the whole catalog of Wii vc games for wii u and 3ds already nintendo ! This is getting stupid . Although march is looking good for the eshop , but still ...

@unrandomsam I'll GLADLY help with that . Radiant silvergun , Ikaruga , gunstar superheroes , Sin and punishment 1 and 2 , Gradius V many many more . God I love treasure , their games are always top notch . Now thats an indie dev I can fully support .

Forget the remixes and do collections starting with N64 then DS then Dreamcast and so on . Even with remixes I feel like I'm buying games that I already have . Why don't you remix your VC nintendo .

This trailer was great it changed my mind about this game . I will be getting it upon release along with "Assault android cactus " and "A.N.N.E." Hurry up and release these games !

Looks interesting but I'll wait for a review . Anything less than an 8 and I'm out . What I'm really waiting for is gunlord to release ! That delicious pixely dreamcast/neo geo gem of a game .

@AtlanteanMan completely agree ! How about an HD remake of thunder force 6 since it was never released in the west hmmmmm? Phantasy star would be awesome !

Definetly surprised to see some of the games on this list . Ducktales remastered is just... yuck ! Overall it's a pretty good list .
I played the original windwaker to death and loved it . The only difference with the wiiu version is the HD so I haven't picked it up yet and may never . Being thoroughly familiar with the game I have to say that I would choose W101 over wwhd any day of the week . That also goes for sonic lost world . Most criminally underated game of the year goes to W101.

In overall Wii U game of the year I would definitely like to see rayman legends replaced by W101 . In my opinion w101 is the superior game .

@URAmk2 It sounds like you are defining technical standpoint to mean " it's running on better hardware therefore it looks better ". Rookie mistake but you're forgiven for that. Didn't FutureAlphaMale say this " but it doesn't come close to besting Knack from a purely graphical standpoint." This statement does not agree with his first couple of sentences. I was merely pointing out that no matter how you spin it SM3DW is graphically superior. Furthermore my reading comprehension is just fine , I even corrected some of your grammatical errors for your enjoyment so pay attention :

@FutureAlphaMale Knack can hardly be called "graphically intense" not even if it was for ps3 .

@URAmk2 From an artistic standpoint sm3dw makes knack it's B****. A sharper image is only part of the equation .

I wish this was organized around my way . I took a MH hiatus after I reached hr 150 , Also due to w101 being released and working overtime .

Wii u is still the most innovative system out right now . What I don't get is the hypocrisy of some of it's critics . Some of the biggest haters are the same people that called the wii, gamecube 1.5 with motion controls. Now the ps4 is out and the xbox one both of which offer marginal (yes marginal) improvements graphically and both are gimmicky as hell and the Wii u critics never mention these things.
