Re: Video: The Entire Zelda Timeline Is Explained By Popular YouTube Theorists

@LowlyPeasant you certainly put alot of effort into thar response so I won't argue with you. I've just always seen the Zelda games for what they are on the surface. Having grown up with the originals I saw the Zelda franchise differently until OoT was released. From my point of view they don't seem canon however, I understand the timeline you explained and I won't deny that those events do fit however I couldn't help but feel Zelda 2 would have fallen early in the timeline since the Zelda in that game was depicted as the real princess Zelda who had been put to sleep and sealed in a chamber although I understand it could be worked into the timeline.

@mjc0961 No,no,no I'm quite certain that timeline was developed after fans kept asking about it. I remember Shigeru Miyamoto even said before that there is no timeline for the Zelda games. This is just an example of the developers trying to please all of their fans because oddly enough some were rather upset about the whole thing and kept nagging on for an official timeline. Lol. It all comes down to whatever makes you happy whether that be the magic sword, master sword, four sword, silver arrow or light arrow. I actually enjoy the diiferent takes on the Zelda universe and feel no need to connect all the stories together.

@LowlyPeasant I've looked at it, of course. The story for the first game(instruction booklet) specifically states that Ganon and his legion of monsters invades Hyrule and steals the triforce of power. So it's obviously unrelated to orcarina of time. Besides, what does Hyrule change form every other generation? Lol, sometimes death mountain is in the east and sometimes in the west? What about the four swords stories?

Re: Video: The Entire Zelda Timeline Is Explained By Popular YouTube Theorists

@LowlyPeasant You can't change the fact that the original two stories have a completely different take on the triforce and even Zelda. Ganon was utterly destroyed and there was no void that he was sealed into. The premise of Zelda 2 was that by killing Link and using his blood the monsters could revive Ganon(also Ganon was always a monster, not a human with the triforce of power). Besides that Link had to find the triforce of courage that the king of Hyrule had hidden? Wasn't that supposed to be in Links hand? But instead the mark on Links hand was nothing more than a sign.

Looking forward to it though I think E3 is going to be more interesting. I'm actually more curious to see if M$ and Sony will be releasing upgraded consoles to compete with NX. M$ has practically said they will release an upgrade at some point and Sony says they can consider it.

Can't analyze something that we know nothing about. Is it a system, is it a handheld, is it both combined? Lol, what if the NX was an add on for the Wii U, how nuts would that be? Then again, it would explain the lack of a cd drive, but I'm not really sure if connecting an add on through a USB cord is feasible. On top of that I'm sure many people would think Nintendo was shooting themselves in the foot doing an add on.

Picking it up when I revisit this game. Just not sure when that will be. It's too bad Nintendo doesn't take the VC a little more seriously. I'd be using the money to download VC games instead of buying a soldering station and upgrading my NES. I do enjoy the SNES VC though, they have done a good job with it minus a few games like Illusion of Gaia and updating Wii to Wii U SNES VC.

Battletoads always was a great series of games. It's too bad now M$ owns the rights and apparently the original art designers aren't at the helm. Saw the new design for the characters on the Rare Replay box art and all I will say is they should have just stuck with the original character art.

Re: The Official Legend of Zelda Timeline Has Been Updated

NotARobot

Oh come on guys, the first two Zelda games aren't even related story wise. The whole story of the Triforce and Ganon are completely different and Link doesn't even use the Triforce of Courage in the first Zelda game, he reassembles the Triforce of Wisdom.

By all means the second Zelda game explains why the title is refered to as "The Legend of Zelda".

Re: A Digital Code for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Will Be $50 in North America

I'm going to have to wait. Problem is I would only preorder through Amazon and last I checked it wasn't available for preorder. Opted for notification when it becomes available but still haven't been notified. Main reason I want the amiibo is it's supposed to have compatability with this and Zelda Wii U. I wouldn't mind being able to use costumes from this game on the newer one.

I'm not paying an arm and a leg though if Nintendo decides there will be a shortage of amiibos or special editions. It's gotten to the point that any drive I've had to collect these amiibos is gone because of the "scavanger hunt" or the "scalpers market".

Re: Rumour: Twilight Princess HD to Feature Special amiibo Dungeon, Hero Mode and Touchscreen Inventory

NotARobot

Unlocking features with amiibo is great as long as there are absolutely no shortages of said amiibo. I absolutely refuse to pay higher than the asking price for something that should be readily available. I think I picked up Link for Hyrule Warriors for around $10 and honestly, as much as I like Nintendo characters, I still won't pay much more than that. $15 at the most and that's only if it were a very significant character used for great features across multiple games.

They're fun games but too similar.

I liked the old trend of Mario sequels. The gameplay from SMB3 to SMW was fantastic. They added Yoshi, the visuals were improved and given a fresh look and the flying mechanic with the cape was a great feature.

I'd go for another Mario Galaxy, but more than anything else I'd like to see Nintendo to what they used to do with Mario and make another fresh title that has new gameplay mechanics.
