Re: Fresh Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Details Reveal Shigeru Miyamoto's Role In The Game's Downfall

NotARobot

This game doesn't look like it ever would've amounted to much. Very uncreative. Videogames in general should be fun, but they should also benefit the player so it's not a big waste of time. Things like puzzle solving and gameplay elements that test your ability to multi task. Or the very least a story with a valuable lesson to be learned. Sure there are great games that lack these elements (House of the Dead Overkill is pretty funny), but your not going to see tons of them every console cycle. This is one less video game in what has become a oversaturated market. And yeah, I would've been pissed if I found out $1 mil was dropped on some CGI cutscenes, for this one at least.

Re: Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is Creeping Up On the European eShop for Halloween

NotARobot

My goodness, no matter where I am on the internet anytime Capcom is mentioned there's at least one person complaining about the company. For anyone unaware, you should realize that it will be Nintendo's decision if this lands on the Eshop in NA. It has nothing to do with Capcom trying to get money from regions. That goes for any game really. Nintendo approaches the third party and gets permission and then Nintendo does all the digital porting. Good grieve....

Re: Bonk's Adventure Has Been Rated By The ESRB For Wii U

NotARobot

@Mario_maniac That's pretty interesting. I was thinking for sure it would be the NES version. I'm not hating against Nintendo or anything, it's just that when you compare the Western VC to the Japanese VC, it just seems like we will never get the extensive library.

Re: These Limited Edition Analogue Nt Consoles Will Make Your Bank Account Weep

NotARobot

@TheRealThanos That's pretty amazing! Thanks for the link. I wish I would have known about these guys sooner, I would have saved the cash for one of these systems. I hear about so many knock off consoles I didn't think anyone took this stuff seriously. Heck, it might be better just to ignore the HDMI upgrade and stick with SCART RGB, although that HDMI upgrade does have some interesting features like a scan line generator and sound output configurations. Guess it might just boil down to if you use it with a CRT or not.

Re: These Limited Edition Analogue Nt Consoles Will Make Your Bank Account Weep

NotARobot

@TheRealThanos That's freakin' hilarious! The HDMI upgrade is the exact same kit that I was referring too! It's the kit Kevtris recently made. He's got some videos on Youtube of the process. He must of made a deal with these guys and supplied the upgrade. I agree though, the new hardware is quite tempting. It would be nice to have an all in one package for Nintendo 8-bit gaming to free up entertainment space and power outlets. Congrads to the people who got theirs!

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X and Dragon Quest Help Wii U to Top Spot in Japan

NotARobot

@DarthNocturnal Also DQ6 is on the DS. We've basically got all the DQ games in some shape or form. 1-4 is on the NES. 5 and 6 are on the DS. 7 on the PS1 and 8 on the PS2. 9 on the DS but I kinda doubt Nintendo would bring 10 over like they did 6 simply because it's a paid online service and so far Nintendo has taken a stance against paid online for Wii U in NA.

Re: Talking Point: Is Konami About To Exit The Console Game Business?

NotARobot

Then Konami releases a new Contra game from out of nowhere and every gun happy American buys it and puts Konami on top of the ball again....plus DLC that nobody can resist buying....Seriously though, I can't imagine Konami dropping out despite the lack of games coming out the floodgates. They were so great back in the arcade days. Would be a shame if they weren't finding skillfully qualified programmers to pass the torch to if their older staff members aren't around anymore.

Re: Natsume Suggests That Nintendo's Moving Away From SNES on Wii U Virtual Console

NotARobot

@technotreegrass A lot of people seem to be getting the wrong idea. Natsume was specifically talking about their titles, not the entire SNES library. On top of that they said it was unlikely, but not ruled out completely. I don't think Nintendo would just rule out SNES VC all of the sudden. It's just going to take time to release everything and right now they seem to be jumping around different console ports to establish a variety. I'm sure we will see more SNES ports in the future but perhaps nothing from Natsume anytime soon.

Re: Natsume Suggests That Nintendo's Moving Away From SNES on Wii U Virtual Console

NotARobot

I'd like to see arcade games myself. They started on the Wii VC and then just abruptly stopped without getting to some really good stuff. I was glad to see Rygar, Ninja Gaiden but there are some really good games that never got released on any platform cept maybe PC emulation. SNES has some great titles but it seems most that are missing from Wii and Wii U are trademarked like Batman Returns, Tazmania, Roadrunner etc.

Re: Social Networks Go Into Meltdown Over Apparent The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 3D Rumour

NotARobot

Doubt they will ever remake Twilight Princess. It's not even old yet, just pop your Wii edition in the Wii U. Like the whole dark world stuff but it's been done twice now so I'd imagine we won't be seeing anymore Zelda stories like that. I keep saying this but they really need to go back to the original concept of Zelda with Hyrule being over run with monsters and just Link on a quest to rescue Zelda and free Hyrule from Ganon. No towns, just people hiding in caves and dungeons with pieces of the Triforce hidden inside them.

Re: Hardware Classics: Sega Dreamcast

NotARobot

I never even knew Sega was having problems when the Dreamcast was released. I had one the second month it was out and thought it was awesome. When Marvel vs. Capcom 2 came out I used to play against my friend for hours everyday for months. It was the first game I ever played that actually looked better than the arcade version. That alone had me thinking the Dreamcast was going to be huge. Didn't really keep up with gaming news but I do remember people talking about the PS2 before it hit saying it was going to make the Dreamcast irrelevant. Too bad Sega couldn't have put the DVD player in it, that would have really been an attraction in those days, though I don't think it would have made a difference. Sony really did a fantastic job with the PS1 so naturally it made sense that people were hyped for the PS2.

Re: Games Consultant Believes Nintendo NX Could Be "The Defining Video Game Controller Of The Smart Device Age"

NotARobot

Just a controller!?! Please, that's the lamest most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Nintendo is making a new console. There not going to bank on just a new controller that interacts with things that aren't Nintendo products. Where would that leave their gamers? You know, the ones that have a 3DS and Wii U. I swear, what was this person thinking? Nobody ever knows what Nintendos releasing until they show it. That's what seperates Nintendo from the others.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities

NotARobot

Nothings really changed. Games never went up with inflation. Back in 1989 you could get an NES game for 60 bucks. That would be a whole lot more by today's standards. Remember the Sega CD? Try getting yourself to buy one of those games for 80 bucks back in 1993. This DLC stuff is no big deal. Games have never been cheaper and they've never looked better. Top it off they're bigger than ever too and you have the option of paying less buy not buying optional content.

Re: Nintendo DS And Nintendo 64 Games Finally Coming To The Wii U Virtual Console

NotARobot

There seems to be quite a little confusion about the Nintendo/Rare split in here. When they split, Rare kept the rights to Killer Instict, Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps and Conker. I'm pretty sure Goldeneye belongs to MGM studios so it might be possible for Nintendo to get that but I'm not sure it's worth it to them. That would actually be the most interesting part to the split. Could both Microsoft and Nintendo get that game since Rare made it yet it was released on N64 but the license actually belongs to a movie studio? I don't think Goldeneye would belong to Rare but I could be wrong. Anyways, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong have always belong to Nintendo, it doesn't matter if Rare helped develope those games or not, Nintendo can release them if they want.

Re: Feature: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U - What Do We Know So Far?

NotARobot

I have high hopes for this title. I hate to say it but I just couldn't get into Skyward Sword. The art direction seemed too "Disney" for me. I grew up with the darker Hyrule from the first Zelda game. That's what I'd like to see in the future as well. Just Hyrule overrun with monsters and people hiding in caves with Ganon being the main villian as a monster and no human form.

Re: Nintendo to Lead Design and Development of Smart Device Games, But Shigeru Miyamoto's Priority Remains the Wii U

NotARobot

I don't have smartphone games myself but it doesn't seem like it would make sense for Nintendo's big developers and programmers to focus on mobile games. There just isn't enough profit in that. It is nice though to know the quality of mobile games might be increasing because of this. I kinda wonder how many new customers they can get to migrate into their console market.

Re: Iwata Remains Positive on the Future of the Wii U and 3DS Systems

NotARobot

I will say the Wii U is worth buying if your looking for older titles as well. It's cheaper to get Earthbound, Demon's Crest, Megaman 7, Megaman X3 as well as other titles than trying to get them off Ebay. The Wii U pretty much pays for itself if you were to try and pick up those titles on the SNES. Even the Wii has a substantial about of Neo Geo games which are also very expensive on Ebay. I'd really like to see them expand the Virtual Console into the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast library.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Explains Several Design Choices in the Creation of Majora’s Mask

NotARobot

I'm actually playing through the N64 version for the first time. I skipped it back when it first released because I heard Ganon would not be the main villain. After seeing the game theory video about it though, I had to reconsider. Glad I did because this game is fantastic and it's too bad I didn't give it a chance when it first released. Glad they added a camera system into the remake. Looking forward to giving it a go after I complete the original.
