Re: Talking Point: Let's Dare to Believe that Sonic the Hedgehog Can Have a Happy Anniversary

NotARobot

I think it would have been better if this was the year Sega released Sonic Generations. I could have waited the extra five years for a better version. Considering all the bouncing around the franchise has done, a new Sonic Spinball would be most appropriate. But Sega won't do that. Instead there will simply be another outsourced Sonic game that looks totally alien to the series. At this point anyone who still cares about the Sonic series should just collect the games they don't have to celebrate the anniversary.

I'm really looking forward to this. I just wish I knew if it the transfer of the characters would work between a JP version to a NA Wii U but I'm guessing it wouldn't. I'm really tempted to import this just because they're are other games that haven't made it out of Japan too. Mainly Power Drift and Final Fantasy 3DS. Even though DQVIII is coming this summer, it would still make for a great import.

Re: Random: Check Out the Official Mega Man Headphones

@GunplaGamer Thanks for the reference! This is the first time I've ever heard of Vmoda. I like the custom shield aspect and the warranty is probably the kicker that will have me buying a set of these. For pricy headphones, I really need that reassurance that they will deliver and last the test of time.

Re: Random: Check Out the Official Mega Man Headphones

I actually need a good pair of headphones that are sturdy and won't break. That would be great if these were built to last but unfortunately it doesn't look to be that way. That's a shame, I would gladly put down the money for it. Also, that headphone jack needs to be the curved type that can plug into the 3DS or a music player while in your pocket without bending the jack connector. Nothing like having to get a new set because the wire got bent to much and lost sound in one ear.

Re: Ichiro Hazama Would Like to Keep Making More Theatrhythm Games

NotARobot

I was hoping for more Crono Trigger DLC on Curtain Call. I'd love to see more of these games but unless they are crossovers, SE doesn't have much to choose from cept KH. Not much for me to be excited about personally cause I didn't get into KH and DQ Theatrhythm didn't even make it out of Japan. Though if a cross over were possible I'd jump at a chance to get Megaman, Sonic, or Castlevania.

Re: Crush 40 Facebook Post, Since Deleted, Points to 25th Anniversary Sonic Game

NotARobot

Eh, I hate to say but my ambition to see a new Sonic game has dwindled over the past few years. I'd like to believe Sega could bring back a great experience but after letting another studio do what they want with Sonic, I just don't believe they themselves have the ambition they used to have. Hopefully this is one of those scenerios where you have to hit bottom before you can bounce back hard. The timing would surely fit.

Re: SEGA Reveals the Logo for Sonic the Hedgehog's 25th Anniversary

NotARobot

@Pianist88 I 100% agree with that statement. I was asking myself, "Isn't this logo inappropriate now?" I mean it looks great and all but the only Sonic stuff that Sega has been promoting is Sonic Boom which doesn't even resemble this look. Once they redesigned Sonic and the rest of the cast except Tails for some reason :? (give him a big pokka dot bow tie, come on guys) the entire series was finished in my eyes.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's 2015?

NotARobot

Only letdown has been the vitual console. First couple of years were good for Wii U but 2015 has been downhill. I'll admit I haven't given the DS games a chance but I just don't see the point of playing DS games on the Wii U (that and I already have all the DS games I desire). N64 games seem dark and not as vivid as I think they should be. Also DK64 not able to do wide screen on gamepad?

3DS virtual console shouldn't have been abanded but oh well I suppose. I just don't understand Nintendo's decisions as of recently when it comes to the VC.

Still I'm looking forward to next year with Twilight Princess HD, Star Fox Zero, and at some point I will probable catch up with the games that have already been released that I haven't tried yet. 3DS will be getting Hyrule Warriors Legends and some Dragon Quest games so there's plenty of gaming to go around. I just wish the VC was as stellar as is was on the Wii.

Re: Nintendo Download: 24th December (North America)

NotARobot

@Caryslan Not entirely true. I waited and waited for Killer Instinct 1 and 2 and even some of the Rare games like Battletoads arcade and Solor Jetman to appear on Xbox Live for the 360 but Microsoft won't do it? Yet they will offer a watered down version of the newest TombRaider to go on the 360? Selective support to get people to upgrade?

At least Nintendo will make two versions of a game if their existing platform can handle it like Twilight Princess got. And I know the 360 is perfectly capable of running all those Rare games and arcade games.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy May Arrive on the North American Wii U eShop on 24th December

NotARobot

Galaxy 1 is a great game, and if it weren't for the fact that I have it on disc and my budget is tight, I'd pick it up. If I had to choose a Nintendo Wii title though, I would opt for Donkey Kong Country Returns or the Wario Ware that came out early in the Wii's life.

I know times are tough in America Nintendo. I can't help but wonder if we would have gotten to vote for VC releases by now if the Wii U would have sold as great as the Wii did.

Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd December (North America)

NotARobot

It's too bad they stopped supporting the 3DS VC games. Lately, I've been finding the NES games more enjoyable on the 3DS. They even have scanlines, though it's kinda hard to notice due to screen size. Just going to pick up what I can and see what happens in the future.

Re: Video: See the Differences Between Star Fox Zero at E3 and Now

NotARobot

@vitalemrecords Actually the Virtual Boy was pretty cool. I had one back then. I heard Nintendo discontinued supporting it because there were some people having health issues because of it. Nintendo didn't want to be seen as a company that supported a device that could give people seizures or heart attacks. If they had wanted it to be a success all they would have had to do was put the right games on it.

Re: Take a Look at Nintendo's Game Awards 2015 Nominees

NotARobot

I'm glad Super Mario Maker is up for nomination for game of the year. While there's bound to be people who think that's silly, as a kid that grew up with the original Super Mario Bros. this game is really a kid's dream come true. I literally remember thinking how cool it would be to be able to make levels for games back then. Seemed like such an impossibility in 1988.

Re: Final Fantasy Explorers Will Have a Collector's Edition

NotARobot

I'm not holding my breath but that would be great if it included a download for the Final Fantasy 3DS port that we never got. $30 more for the collectors edition makes it possible, but I have a feeling it will include something else like a figurine, a keychain, and a soundtrack.

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th November (North America)

NotARobot

@Zach777 It's really just business decisions. I'm sure if Reggie could release all the VC games he would. It takes time and money to port these titles to the VC. On top of that any third party games take a cut of the profit. I'm actually surprised we got Stinger from Konami instead of another Nintendo game. This all boils down to the Wii U selling poorly in the U.S. If it had sold more we probably would have a bigger selection like the way it was with the Wii. It's all about budgeting the profit the Wii U brings unfortunately and really it seems Reggie doing a good job cause we're still getting third party VC games.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th October (North America)

NotARobot

I still wish DS games hadn't become a VC thing. I like the DS library but it just isn't as old as many other possibilities. Maybe Nintendo is focusing on mostly Nintendo ports to make up for the lack of Wii U system sales. After all, if they had added say, Sega Saturn VC, then a portion of the profit would go to not only Sega but whatever third party the game was made by. This is all because the Wii U has not sold well in the U.S. I'm very tempted to import Nintendo's next system...
