Peoples' own impatience makes them say third parties should announce games before the Switch is fully unveiled. It doesn't make sense to know what the games are before you know exactly what you're playing it on. If you think Nintendo should have unveiled it sooner, that's a different issue.
@Nintendofan83 I like how because people are impatient and there are rumors piling up, Nintendo supposedly needs to hurry up. They only have one chance to reveal the NX and they need that to go as well as possible. The rumors won't matter anymore once we see for ourselves. Just relax.
Considering Rebirth was so buggy for 3DS and Wii U, and they didn't know if they'd even be able to put Afterbirth on Wii U, I'm expecting a ton of problems when this releases.
I don't understand the hate. I would rather see talented developers experiment with different ideas and hopefully come up with something that's fun and worth building on in the future. Maybe a game like this will miss the mark, but I'm sure they weren't sitting around a table plotting on how they can crush our dreams. They wanted to create something good and I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until we see the finished product.
@Konda Well I never played any of the Dynasty Warriors games and had a lot of the same concerns, but I bought the Wii U version and loved it. Killing any one enemy is never really a challenge except for the bosses. You're basically trying to prevent enemies from overwhelming the map. The Adventure Mode gives you different objectives and there's definitely a lot of difficulty as it progresses. Any game can be repetitive so it just comes down to whether you enjoy playing it or not.
I almost didn't get this game but decided I'd take advantage of a buy 2 get 1 free offer with this, Yo-Kai and Happy Home Designer. Luckily I ignored the reviews because I love this game. Any negatives I've experienced have mostly been due to the "community," but the majority of teammates have been great. Of course Nintendo could have implemented better ways to prevent those issues though.
@shigulicious You don't think recent games like Mario Maker and Yoshi's Woolly World fit those standards? Xenoblade Chronicles X is also a first party Nintendo game. Is that going to be watered down?
@Morph You answered your own question. They rushed it to get it out for the Holidays. I think people should just be happy they didn't make the same compromises with games like Zelda and Star Fox.
@bezerker99 This game shouldn't have been made because Nintendo Life gave it a 6? I just saw a review that gave it an 8. I'm guessing the average will probably be somewhere around a 7. That's hardly a disaster.
@duffmmann I'm sure this is just an attempt to try to scare others from doing the same thing in the future. Obviously they don't need the $4k. The RIAA was doing the same for a while when they were suing people for illegally downloading music.
@Undead_terror Yeah I've had it freeze a lot. Even the Wii U version froze a bunch of times for me, but thankfully that hasn't happened in a while. It must just be something about my style of play that makes me more likely to encounter the bugs.
@readyletsgo I agree that if it was dropped it's probably not because of Iwata's death, but just because they had a lot of people working on it doesn't mean it wasn't or can't be scrapped. Their next console having to come sooner than anyone expected would be a legitimate reason to put major side projects on hold.
The 3DS and Wii U versions have both frozen for me about 10 times each. (A couple were before the original patch for 3DS as well) I stopped playing the 3DS version completely since that was happening much more frequently in relation to my play time. Luckily the Wii U version hasn't frozen for me in a while.
@Zach777 I like that it's such a different experience than the other maps, but there's not really much to it strategy wise. If we were able to rotate through all the maps it would be a nice change of pace. It can just get a little repetitive when you're playing it over and over.
My only complaint is that I've already had the game crash my Wii U at least 5 times, usually after the Boss rush. Luckily I can restart the game at the beginning of that level, but it does suck to have to play through it again.
@Konda The developers said they couldn't get it to run optimally on the regular 3DS. Either way, I doubt they'd intentionally want to limit themselves to the much smaller New 3DS crowd and sacrifice all of those sales.
So the people that know what the final product is like and are in charge of spending money to promote and release it decide it's not worth bringing to NA, yet a bunch of people with none of that firsthand info are criticizing that decision? Yeah release the crappy game and lose money because we'll whine if you don't.
The only real disappointment to me was Animal Crossing for Wii U. Not just because it isn't a traditional AC game, but it seems like you're going to have to track down the Amiibo/cards just to play what seems like a fairly dull game. Hopefully I'm wrong though. There's a lot of new 3DS games I'm looking forward to and Mario Tennis was a nice surprise. I would say they should have saved the Ryu and Smash stuff for the digital event, but that got spoiled anyway.
@TwilightAngel Strange question considering the Wii U version has been out 9 months and a lot of people have put dozens or even hundreds of hours into it.
@Peach64 Maybe you should ask yourself why you need to focus on the negativity so much? We all know that the Wii U sales are very disappointing and most likely won't turn around, but I guess unlike you I was able to move on from it, rather than correct any report or post that has a hint of optimism.
I like how a lot of people are calling it a weak list because they have most of the games already. So they offered a bunch of games you considered worthy of paying for, yet it's somehow a weak list? I already have the Platinum rewards except for Ultimate NES Remix and Mario Kart 7. I'm more than happy with either one.
@Peach64 Are you really defending a review that didn't even get the name of the product correct? Not a small mistake either, a pretty major one. And are you really comparing a comment section to an article in a major newspaper? The writer is supposed to be informing the reader, not the other way around.
@Quorthon Who said these people prefer remakes? New games and remakes aren't mutually exclusive. I'd love a remake of Mario Sunshine but that doesn't mean I wouldn't rather have a new 3D Mario game. I saw that there is a petition going around to remaster Modern Warfare 2. Does that mean all Sony/X-Box fans prefer remasters to new games? Obviously not.
@Windy I doubt they'll put out Xenoblade Chronicles since that would eat into the sales of the 3DS version. Especially considering that's one of the main selling points for buying a New 3DS.
@andyg1971 I don't know about making a fortune. They would have to sell twice as many games the first week just to make the same amount of money. The discount is obviously better for us but that's not exactly a recipe for making a ton of money.
@SilentHunter382 That wouldn't be the end of the world. People that choose to play this for free will likely have the option to play any future microtransaction games for free as well. It's not like this is some major release we've been waiting a year for and they sprung the pay-to-play system on us last minute. It's a small, hopefully fun game that we didn't even know about a month ago.
@Kirby_Fan_DL3 I'm personally not that into RPG's and have never played any of the previous games, but I still find it weird that you bothered to comment that you're not interested.
@BlatantlyHeroic So by your logic they could just post their commentary without the actual gameplay footage and be just as successful, since they're not making money off the games. Be realistic. They're playing a video game that usually cost millions of dollars and may have taken years to develop. Somehow they should just automatically have the right to broadcast the entire game and get paid off it without any consideration for the creators?
@Quorthon There's a pretty big difference between adding Link to a fighting game and designing a whole game around the Zelda universe. If you think they just stuck Link on the cover of a Dynasty Warriors game then you clearly haven't played it.
@BlatantlyHeroic Well one person in the family can get the limited edition New 3DS and the others can get the normal version that 99% of other gamers will have to settle for. It's hardly a tragedy and will in no way stop a family from having multiple handhelds.
