It's good to see the steady increase of the Wii U.
@ikki5 11k is basically where it usually is. It was up to 17k for a few weeks because of Splatoon.
@NoEasyBuckets
yes but usually when a game release, it goes down and doesn't go back up ever until something new is released. This is like the 3rd or 4th week in a row where it has gone up.
Where's Metal Gear?
Square Enix is too busy banging their heads into the wall to localise Dragon Quest games. Making sense is for other companies to do.
@manu0 MGSV just came out so it won't show on the charts until next week
Why does Dragon quest have to ruin the sales figures of FE?.......
Oh well, good news is good news.
Wow 3DS really massacring the Vita. Nice to see the new AC and Splatoon doing well.
Gee I wonder why it's so hard to port Dragon Quest.
Glad to see 3DS doing so well
Can you please stop teasing us with headlines about games we will never get to see?
So nice that Wii U and PS4 hardware are both up year over year. By the end of the year, 3DS should also be over 20 million lifetime.
And yeah, 3DS software is just massacring everything else. Only real exception is Splatoon, the Wii U game that's selling like a 3DS game. It's over 700k now including digital. It's now ahead of Smash, launch aligned, and will pass Mario Kart in a few weeks too.
Meh.
Dem 3DS software sales...
Seeing Dragon Quest VIII at the top of the list makes me happy and angry at the same time. I would love nothing more than to play the first three Dragon Quest games again (either the NES or GBC remakes). However, I've read that Yuji Hori would never release a simple port to any console, he feels that it would be unfair to simply put one of the games without any enhancements. Between that and Square-Enix charging insane prices for the on iOS/Android will keep the originals I love so much from the Virtual Console.
That is not even touching on the fact that Final Fantasy I-VI apparently exist on the Japanese VC. <sigh>
Now, to the West please.
3DS seems to keep producing million sellers over and over. After Yokai Watch, then followed by Animal Crossing:HHD in next week or two, and after that Dragon Quest VIII will also follow. Then we have Monster Hunter X, which is another million seller for certain. Next year, there is Yokai Watch 3 and possibly a new Pokemon game too. Was hoping to see FE selling a little better though.
Wii U keeps the momentum going with Splatoon, Super Mario Maker is near, so we can expect another boost soon. Next week will be all about Metal Gear Solid V though, so Sony will have a good week.
DQ IX is the only Dragon Quest game I've played, and I loved it. Been meaning to pick up some of the other ones. If they release DQ VIII then it'll be a must have for me.
Wish they released on WII U instead 3DS. Such a master game on a little screen sigh
Wow half a million in a week is pretty radical. Now announce the western version please!
Half a million?
Nah, these are just physical sales.
The game probably did closer to 700 thousand.
Even as Media Create is, DQ8 sold more than every other game in the chart combined.
That's pretty crazy.
Like how the PS4 had a decent increase, because they got 3 new SKUs.
Vs the Wii U getting a small increase with NOTHING.
(I'm trying to say, I think this is where the PS4 tops out until a big Japanese title hits the market)
7/10 games are Wii U and 3DS. Yet another good for the big N.
C'mon Square, enough is enough. Release the bloody DQ games in the west already!
I guess Square Enix doesn't really like money, because these Dragon Quest games would be a hot seller in the west. I've played 1,4,5,6, and 9 and I would absolutely buy any other installments released in the U.S. There is no reason why SE shouldn't release these games in the west. So much money is at stake it's insane. Just do it Square Enix!
What a waste. Squeenis should be releasing a classic like this on a system that can do it justice like the Vita. The 3DS rubbish screen resolution is a joke. The sooner nintendo quit the game business the better - theyre holding back the industry
