After confirming Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition would be released in Japan on August 27th, Square Enix has now locked in the same release date for North America. Nintendo of Europe's Twitter account has also shared a tweet with the same date. The platforms the game is releasing on include Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android.
As previously confirmed, this remastered version of the multiplayer-driven GameCube classic will contain new character voice-overs, new dungeons, improved visuals and audio, and online multiplayer and cross-play - including save data transfer support.
Below is the release date trailer:

If you want a physical version Amazon Japan and Play-Asia have it available. I have never played this game, seems like a good one to get on sale. Final Fantasy games always go on sale (which is a good thing).
Really looking forward to "online multi-play" and "voice overs"!
Went with Amazon JPN PreOrder.
I owned and played this on the gamecube. GBAs', link cables and all. I can't wait to revisit it! Bring it!!!
Look forward to teaming up with my 3 kids and taking this game on.
I'm in! Going to play through this with the same friend I played with using GBAs and link cables all those years ago. Maybe now we'll actually finish it!
can't wait to play this one with my fiance!
Might give this one another go; despite it originally being the long-desired series return to Nintendo that I’d hoped for, it was...well, not what I’d hoped for. Perhaps the passage of time (and the addition of online multiplayer) will help me feel differently about this game now.
I wished square would've remastered the DS versions instead.
Awesome! Great that it supports cross-play!
@SwitchForce @Nintendofan83 Won't there be a Western physical release?
I have a GameCube save file from 2004 I’m still working on. Hoping to finish it soon. Maybe I can start this version and have it done before 2030
@graysoncharles This is what held me back from getting this the first go around & from pre-ordering now. Game looks fun but without some friends I worry it'll turn into a boring solo grindfest.
@Quarth I believe it's digital only in North America and Europe. Only Japan is getting a physical release. Maybe Asia-English but I'm not sure.
Welcome back old friend.
This is one of those games that I know is objectively average at best, but I really liked it as a kid.
@Nintendofan83 A shame if it's only digital here, but if that's the case, I'll import it from Asia. I did that with the FFVII/VIII and FFX/X-2* collections, which worked fine. Play-Asia is a great site!
*X/X-2 got a Western physical release, but with X-2 as a download code. The Asian version has both games on the cart and everything is in English, both on the case cover and in the games.
@graysoncharles Do you think that the online multiplayer will make it a much better experience?
"Western release date"
"still no date for Europe just yet"
Can't you just say North American if that's what you mean?
Is this any good? I have it on Wii but never played it. The childish look turned me off... I usually like FF.
Dunno about the Wii one but the first game is good fun.
Also, I dont get why this took 2 years to remaster/port. They have delayed this game how many times now like 4?
i want to get the physical edition but i dont know how to read the language, maybe ill get it for the sake of physical ownership and get a digital copy on whatever platform i choose to get it on
I read "online multiplayer" but... was local multiplayer confirmed? That's what I'd be most interested in
Does Play-Asia take the money immediately or when the item ships?
@k8sMum Don't remember, been a while since I ordered last time. But they are reliable, that I know.
I rarely spend on games this late in August (unless I have enough left allocated for this field from the vacation bonuses and stuff, except summer sales like to ensure I don't😅), but a month later? A lot more likely. Still, best not to jinx it so far in advance.
OH MY GOD i respect anyone who is excited for this, hats off to you! but this game has been so SO barren since that one Nintendo Direct in 2018... itll be almost 2 years once it comes out. and it isnt like i dont like waiting for games, im a zelda fan! lmao, its just the lack of info and unnapealing art style (to me), made me lose interest months and months ago. i actually thought it was scrapped
Still no word on local multiplayer. Sad.
@Bobb It's been confirmed so everyone support this game.
Local Co op has been confirmed for PS4 at least
As long as no one has to carry the stupid thing it will be fun lol
@Zorox88 Great news! Thank you very much
@Zorox88 Where are you reading local co op? All I see is gather up three friends but that doesn't mean local co op per sé.
