Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many?

MrVariant

Wait for sales. Sucks I don't think Nintendo nindies will have another humble bundle but retro city rampage is a classic. I did have fun with owlboy as well, not sure if their 1 day sale was also for the switch as I got it for steam.

Same happens for me with Comics. Enough slow days will happen to catch up, but no point being first for a game when you got 10 others to play, unless there is a sale to make it affordable, and sometimes word of mouth or extra footage helps avoid a game I may not like (circle entertainment doesn't do the 3rd game well imo with mercenaries saga 3 or legend of the dark witch 3).

We're also at the final quarter of the year, so Halloween, Black Friday, and Christmas sales are in the runnings as well. Of course eBay helps too, given game lots or what have you, possibly older/cheaper systems too, and Gameflip for those eShop cards on sale.

I think it's more a matter of when is best.

@Uzukage did you play Nexomon? I had a lotta fun honestly, and enjoy the plot over repetitive gym/gang (team for the kids) busting. It won't be taken down for copyright infringement. Point is, I'm not going to pay Nintendo to rip me off.

Why would I pay for virtual consoles for super Mario Bros 1-3 and world when super Mario all stars + world has them all and costs less at $15 on eBay? Super Mario run was done well, but if it sucked, I would've just said to play Suzy cube instead.

At least they did a better job with game diversity as opposed to the neo geo mini which might as well be called king of fighters mini with 7 king of fighters games on international and 10 on Japan. I bought their official humble bundle for far less as well and got more diverse games.

I'm just upset when people want to say I support piracy on affordable platforms. Movies these days are $5-$8 with memberships/matinee, and rentable online for the most part; I don't even know how the bootleggers still profit. Same with comixology unlimited $6 and all the comics sales.

I'm glad Nintendo picked up on the sale bandwagon last year, and has Nintendo selects for people who know nothing about games to get quality 3ds/Wii U games for their grand/children, at an affordable $20. When will that occur on the switch?

@Uzukage you completely misread what I said: the old Pokemon games are $10 when i could get remakes for around the same price, which Nintendo will not make available digitally, while shutting down roms which is financial suicide in my opinion. Why would I stop people like you from supporting bad ideas? I have better games to play than resort to censorship and money may be no object to you.

Re: Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (3DS)

I played the demo and loved it. I just wish this review explained the appeal of the game rather than compare versions. Basically you unlock a lot of things through puzzles. First level was as golden as original 1-1 of super mario bros, getting the hammer was like going down my 1st pipe. I got coins, then on the 2nd replay I broke the pow block and hidden block on 3rd replay to get other treasures. Excellent way to make replay value.

@HappyRusevDay sure, I have no idea why gameflip doesn't get big advertisement for the on sale Nintendo eShop cards. Even with the processing fee you can sometimes save about 10-15% off. There are even store credit promos as well. I just use prime for the free movies, books and twitch games. Unless you need that preorder bonus, waiting for a price drop or buying yesteryear stuff (I pity those who bought the new 3ds with hardly any support/3d in its twilight) for much less and hopefully helping individuals pay bills rather than feed a machine. Some lots and prices are nice too. If I had more free time I may even get rpg maker fes, though I feel PC's for a bigger interface and using custom sprites is far better. I did see eBay once had someone sell Metroid 2 Samus returns with the amiibo codes already in the game, so you wouldn't have to buy those. Just a point.

The 3ds remake made the best changes for gunstar heroes; only 3d series game I would say outdoes emulation. Mega life to double life and gunslinger to pick on the fly for a weapon combination rather than pray to the contra weapon gods. These were also optional, and I believe mega shot to double damage kinda nerfed things if you beat the game so up the difficult if you use it.
