The only way these tariffs would actually anger me is if international travel stopped and some of us couldn’t afford to leave the country (in other words, got stuck here). Knock on wood. Still, I might as well wait for Air Riders, which is my only reason for getting this console, to release before making a purchase —but if prices keep rising, I can hold off. Leaving the country is important to me right now
Someone said Sakurai was talking with HAL to think it was Kirby Air Riders. Words cannot express how excited I am for this game. I don't even care that it is priced at $80. This and Donkey probably the only games I am getting until the prices go down. Because yikes...especially with what is happening to this country no thanks.
I shelled out $70 for Tears of the Kingdom as a present because someone I know lives for Zelda. If Kirby wants to charge $70–$80 for a physical copy? Fine, he’s round and adorable, I get it. Donkey Kong 3D sure. But Mario Kart and other games at that price? Nah, I’d sooner bite off my index finger and use it as a controller. I can wait. Thumbs up to the rest that play Mario same day. The price for the console is fine but yeah ima wait on some of these games. Man, I was thinking about getting that Final Fantasy remake too oh well
After the first direct (Not the Switch 2), I was wondering if Donkey Kong would ever get another game and that the only thing we would see was Samus. Man oh man feels good to be wrong. This and Kirby. They are doing too much with Kirby and it is great. Sheesh Definitely putting them on the list
(Me assuming they will have mega evolutions or some special) obv Chikorita well even without mega evolution right up until I find Zorua and Goomy then Chikorita is probably going to get benched. maybe. lol
@KingMike Oh, interesting. See, I thought Atari tried making a replica way back and Nintendo got heated and pushed back hard /actually spent some time on it and today it is different now with assisting devs the same way. I guess I tried comparing apples to oranges, in this case. But seeing how it has only been a short time since the dev made this comment I may have jumped the gun a bit here on Nintendo's response time to this without seeing from both sides.
Almost sounds like the whole Atari counterfeiting the chip required to make cartridges debacle again (or I am overthinking it and it is just another cash grab). I'm sure the dev knows that replicating with AI can never replace all the time you invest in your games.
But this is going to get worse as AI continues to get used. To see anyone's game get copied is going to be a common thing which bites. Though, I really hope I am wrong about it being common and that these companies surprise the community by doing a better job at assisting developers but that's reality unfortunately.
No lie, I was listening to the Dedede from A-Z insults video today and didn't even know today is their anniversary. That's scary. Thanks for releasing such fantastic games over the years HAL
If it is just like Smash Bros with the Echo fighters then cool. If that is Donkey Kong's design from now on, it is going to take some getting use to. Then again if Donkey had another game then I wouldn't really care to be honest.
Not too familiar with the series. Kid is tied to disney characters, some that I like so that is cool I guess. This is a game I like to sit back and watch not to pick up tbh. Reminds me of that weird yet interesting Fantasia fever dream light show back at Disney World.
I am really late. I grew up with the Pocky and Rocky arcade-like Series or Kiki Kaikai (Funny name). When this came out in Japan, I immediately jumped on it. One because the game is incredible and two I wasn't going to wait for it to get released here. The animation, the characters, it is simply wonderful. I wish there were more stages but again Reshrined is a continuation of an arcade (later a console) game. At the same time, I am fine with the series ending with this not being too long to the point it feels over saturated. Glad to play all three on Switch. (Not counting Pocky, Rocky and Becky)
I'm trying to get into this series but I keep putting it down. Idk why, I just do. I think games like Super Metroid are fantastic but I can't figure out why I don't go back often or even finish it for that matter. Dread looks cool too. but I want to say some of the games beginning feels like Twilight Princess goat simulator even though it clearly isn't. I can give the series this though, it doesn't feel like hand holding like certain games. Looking at you Pokemon
Wish they'd continued this series as well like Mario and Luigi but with better difficulty. Think it was the second or third one that felt like Kirby's Dreamland 3 but painstakingly more annoying at times (been a minute). I can picture Starfy in a 3d game though. RIP Ogura
I find myself going back and playing the SNES games (especially the 2nd & 3rd one) more than the modern ones. Heck, I even play 64 more. I love the series but this is a hard pass. I was really hoping for a new Donkey Kong game but at least Nintendo gave me a good laugh from seeing this announcement.
Might be the Sa-x problem all over again with this new guy and his what I'm assuming Metroid posse? Not too big on this series (the first person gameplay gives me hives) but it looks promising.
Ah okay Nintendo. Both two princesses being playable in spin offs. I don't care for cardboard Peach but like the Legend of Zelda series. This is a maybe. Still hard to get past this art style, though.
Would have honestly preferred DLC to TOTK (still have not beaten) but this is alright too.
Would like to see a continuation of the Paper Mario series. Just please do not go back to Origami King. I agree that this series needs to make combat fun not a chore. Really hoping this sells more than the previous games so they will understand. Sticker Star, Paintbrush or whatever and Origami King won't make the cut.
Seeing this remake and hearing what Kensuke Tanabe said on how it's not been possible to "modify Mario characters or to create original characters that touch on the Mario universe" since Paper Mario: Sticker Star on the 3DS has me raising an eyebrow. Seems like someone really wanted to restrict unique characters but gave up. (hopefully)

Hope there is more open world Zelda games. Love having the choice of going anywhere only to end up accidentally doing the Spirit Temple second because I did not follow the story path. Not having some obstacle or NPC telling me that I got to complete 3 other quests first.
Kirby and The Forgotten Land was memorable. This game getting another award is nice to hear. It has a nice story, the music is great (no surprise there, Power Plant being one of the top three favorite stage tracks), and the stages make me want to run around in them completely forgetting the missions at some points lol. My only gripe with this game is that I wish there was some interaction with the Beast Pack (the bosses) before the fight rather than getting to the end for an explanation. Also more moves for the abilities
Just a few simple taps on the shoulder or a slide kick causes some of the enemies to “poof” anyways.
Does that mean they still teleport? Heck even head butting enemies in previous games causes them to combust. To say they are frail is an understatement. I mean what about the final bosses? Most of them just straight up explode and I guess one went to a different dimension and one became a computer before getting drilled in the head. But Marx survived the explosion from Nova but also there is a cutscene in True Arena that shows his corpse in space and tries to revive himself (huuuuuhhh? scratches head) but it’s not canon so it’s fine lol
Still doesn’t change my dislike for Rick & Kine. Mostly Rick for Dreamland 3 tho’ the only significant thing about him being he can wall jump but is useless in a game where a character can fly except for a mission or two when he is put to the test for Kirby to deliver him to his girlfriend I guess? If they come back again would like to see all animal buddies not as an ability. I’m looking at you clean Kirby. Should have been each with their own move set like before just without Kirby
@JakedaArbok That’s great if they decide to update it. I can’t really speak for everybody here, but I’m not cutting that section slack because that’s just not how game critiques work. I can’t in good conscience say that final fight was fun. Even if it gets updated that’s not what I saw originally ya know? Whenever I see it now part of me will always wonder who said it was okay to release that fight to the public lol
Kinda wish the game was longer. Was enjoying it up until “The End.” I was heated during the fight. But only because it felt rushed and there was nothing else after that. I mean come on the fight felt like a bad Starfox 64/Planet Robobot space shooter and no one can convince me that fight is good. Anyone could make that crap. Am I suppose to find a giant 3D texturized model ball intimidating? Would have been more upset if I actually paid full price for this game. Other than that, might take a look at this. The game is heading in the right direction for Sonic but sheeeesh that fight is really hard to ignore.
I’m indifferent. People can grab an Oculus for Vr experience and I’m sure it is cheaper now. I believe you can get Nintendo games by messing around with it. I got Cave Story, Kero Blaster on it and I want to say Planet Robobot as well, albeit the controls felt funny playing Cave Story
I always wondered why this wasn't continued. It was pretty fun. Couldn't get into Xenoverse or Fighterz though. Not a dbz fan but I know someone who will be glad to see this return.
I never thought much of the 3Ds. It was there at a pretty annoying time for me. Wasn't really a tough time it was just a drag. I want to say this was around my sophmore year in college. This was either the 3ds or I am thinking about the Switch. Anyways, I did not want to stay in my hometown (still don't) and my parents did not like the idea of me relocating to another country at the time but I was told that if I finished I was free to leave. Yadda yadda yadda I was impatient, had a plan, did a lot of back and forth with some paperwork only for the person who was helping me to "quit their job" out of nowhere when I submitted my forms with a big smile on my face. Stupid me thinking I am finally going to get a fresh start or whatever.
The receptionist didn't tell me until about three weeks later yet told me to come back on Friday 2-3 times to the office to see this guy only to tell me he quit? Really wanted to bust some heads but thanks to my family I have a guilty conscience also believe in karma to a certain (lesser) extent lol. Long story short, playing Kirby & Zelda (& my family) helped me deal with the bs that was spewing. The best part about this lame story is that I am no longer confined to some campus but to a job that allows me to migrate, that I am able to balance and it is one that I actually like. I don't want to migrate just yet. It is all about the timing with me.
Like Goodra. Probably the only dragon type I actually like to use and have always put it on my team since X&Y. Not a fan of Unite, however. Feels like a game of chance when you just jump in a match. You and your team might be really good or really bad. You might be the weak link or someone else on your team carries the mantle. Same problem I had with Kirby Fighters 2. One person, don't recall their name, was constantly on my team. It didn't matter how many times I would reconnect online. When that person was in the room 9/10 times I was paired with them(I swear it was fixed); much to my chagrin. The person literally kept flying the whole game in place. My point is, I really don't like team based only games. That person certainly didn't help. If anything they proved my point. I want to screw up on my own thank you very much.
One thing that bugged me was those outlines. Had to tinker (removed it) around with that before I started. Anyways, Magolor's Epilogue feels more of what I wanted from Star Allies. 1) The game is not centered around Kirby (sorta)/events in dreamland or elsewhere do not always have to occur when he is onscreen. Sometimes, I like stories being focused on not just the main character but everyone else as well. Then it somehow ties together. It does not have to be all the time but it is a good way to see some character growth. Instead of a new character appearing for one game then never making a return something the Kirby series does too often, admittedly. This epilogue has some potential there though. One series that I'm on and off with that use to do this was Sonic now it's Sonic and everyone is just existing. Then again this is Kirby. lol 2) It answered my questions from way back regarding the final boss from the main story. Although, ex mode already has a cutscene that hints at it. 3) The mode has an option to increase health which I did not bother with. But I like that it gives the player an option if they want the journey to be easy or hard. Not really sure if that was intended though. This mode was certainly interesting. Hard to say if it is tied with MetaKnightmare Returns for me in terms of gameplay, I kinda prefer a more fast paced play and MetaKnightmare delivers. On the other hand, I like that some areas make you use your abilities for puzzle solving like the Kirby challenge rooms (albeit very simple but I didn't mind it). At any rate, not done yet still got Ex mode but I can tell the True Arena is gonna hit hard. Can't wait lol.
Glad Kirby got another award. But the guy had a boss that split itself in half screaming after beating it and another who got its' eye detached half way through the fight. I'm indifferent towards the whole age range. Kirby always starts off looking cute but towards the end there is some nightmare fuel. Forgotten Land makes sure of that. Admittedly more gross than creepy with that one fight before the finale if I'm being honest. It is another reason why I like the series though. Can't wait for Returns
It's funny really. I remember first playing Smash 64 then chose Kirby when I started playing because of his design. Really love smash brothers. Didn't find out that the same guy that made Smash made Kirby until years later but got into both series regardless. He may not work on Kirby anymore but the Smash style is still implemented. Also, there are 12 Kirby games on the Switch? Sheesh!
Would not mind if the next console was announced this year late or early next year either way. They added a lot of Kirby for the Switch though. Albeit, Forgotten Land & Returns deluxe (and Triple deluxe + Planet Robobot (3ds) & 64) are the ones I can see myself replaying. Hope they do the same for the next one. But I also would not mind if they didn't add Kirby for awhile. There really is too much one can't help but feel spoiled. But I'm not complaining either XD
Never cared for Fire Emblem. Might try it might not. Kirby and Zelda are really what I am looking forward to. May expand. The art style & game mechanics gotta grab though. Admittedly, not a fan of the outline on Returns remake but it might grow on me over time since that one was great to play and had a lot of fond memories. Also, maybe I need to get my eyes checked but is that a Doraemon controller I see above? That's neat but also why and since when was he on Switch?
The Switch 2022 was pretty good all things considered. Forgotten Land and Returns are both great games and I can't wait to try Returns again next month.
That being said, I cannot agree with Mario + Rabbids Sparks being a great game. If anything I thought it was really average. I am not sure how that game can be considered "great." Yes, it is an rpg that has potential but like every game, I gotta be honest. It had a lot of issues:
1) It wasn't challenging even on hard mode. Used Bowser with the spark that draws in opponents which usually leads into me using his special or his weapon soon after followed by Rabbid Rosalina with her lock move and the game is already over. It isn't rocket science. Not really surprised to find that she was broken too.
2) The enemies were getting repetitive. I think there was like 7 models and they were recolored later on.
3)The ending felt kinda disappointing. I know the game has dlc but I did not find that out till after beating it. Had I known that the dlc has another story, I would not have purchased it when it came out. I had that same issue with Kirby Star Allies dlc. I won't hark too much on that game since the dlc was free. But I'm not a fan of some games releasing chunks rather than throwing everything at you from the get go. I can appreciate Forgotten Land more for releasing everything and not having dlc that somehow ties in with the story later on. This has to be a time management problem though. Sonic Frontiers did the same thing with the Final boss. Man that final boss was hot garbage compared to the rest. Would have been annoyed if I actually paid full price for the game.
Also, the latest Pokemon being open world was something I wanted since diamond and pearl. I am tired of getting stopped by some random guy who makes some weird comment about our "eyes meeting so it is time for a battle." I might not feel like it. I don't even know you, bugger off. And the constant hand holding was almost transparent from this game but it at least wasn't obnoxious this time. I mean getting stopped by someone over and over again is a drag. Just let me catch Pokemon and stay out of my way sheesh... When Legends Arceus came out, at the very beginning, I did not want to go to the village so I laughed when I got banished. It was what I wanted all along but that did not fix some more issues down the road. Finally, I know I am not the only one that said the direct last year was basically farming through and through. I really don't see the appeal in these farming games, if I wanted to farm I would help out my grandfather but that's just me.
If anyone takes offense to these comments, I don't know what to tell you other than it's my opinion. Again, I am just being honest when it comes to talking about a game I played.
And trying to cut games slack due to production issues & lack of time is not how game critiques work. At any rate, 2022 for Switch was not bad, not great, but just good. However, I can say that I would not mind for a new console either.
Just a Kirby game that is enough to keep the majority hooked like the modern Kirby trilogy (I guess everyone is calling it that now) and offers great replay ability. I don't want to state the obvious but the series really doesn't have an excuse not to go 3D, at this point, even if it turns out to be mediocre and not even mainline. At least, it is a step forward for the series in general. That being said, once HAL drops the bomb on the new Kirby game, I'm going to jump right on the band wagon and preorder it. Although Star Allies was somewhat meh, it was fan service and part of me appreciates that but I much rather they have stuck with implementing new ideas and/or make the game play somewhat longer. I get the game was focused on multiplayer this time around, I mean the name is in the title but come on! If I can fix a bowl of popcorn, take out a good book to read all while watching Whispy Woods get himself flame mignon by my partners while I am shaking my head in disappointment then this feels like someone is holding my hand while I am trespassing on his territory! Defend your home brother! You can't fight me until you earn the right to or at least turn back into a machine! I actually preferred you that way GEEZ! Also, who ever decided to add a difficulty meter for the boss rush mode in that game, THANK YOU. I love a challenge and YES I know it is Kirby and it is meant to be simplistic until you do the true arena. People complained that Planet Robobot's True Arena was hard but I didn't think that was the case up until the last fight where the boss gave me the middle finger when it was about to bite the big one which never happens and I forgot Kirby final bosses be weird and plain disturbing sometimes (and I absolutely love it) and apparently I'm an idiot. For those that played that game, you know what I'm talking about. I like stuff like that but I'd much rather have a difficulty meter included for the whole game kind of like the first Kirby game just to make it more challenging! Like get through the game on 1 HP and you can't copy anyone's abilities or fly infinitely (Kirby 64) for that matter and give some players the ability to fight the True Arena bosses with 1 HP but hey it is what it is.

Re: New Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi Game Announced By Bandai Namco
I always wondered why this wasn't continued. It was pretty fun. Couldn't get into Xenoverse or Fighterz though. Not a dbz fan but I know someone who will be glad to see this return.
Re: Soapbox: 3DS' Boundless Creativity Got Me, And Nintendo, Through Some Tough Times
Re: The Next Pokémon Joining Pokémon Unite's Roster Is Goodra
Re: Review: Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe - A Suitably Dreamy Encore For One Of Kirby's Best
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Wins Best Kids Game At New York Game Awards
Glad Kirby got another award. But the guy had a boss that split itself in half screaming after beating it and another who got its' eye detached half way through the fight. I'm indifferent towards the whole age range. Kirby always starts off looking cute but towards the end there is some nightmare fuel. Forgotten Land makes sure of that. Admittedly more gross than creepy with that one fight before the finale if I'm being honest. It is another reason why I like the series though. Can't wait for Returns
Re: Video: What's Going On With Kirby Right Now?
It's funny really. I remember first playing Smash 64 then chose Kirby when I started playing because of his design. Really love smash brothers. Didn't find out that the same guy that made Smash made Kirby until years later but got into both series regardless. He may not work on Kirby anymore but the Smash style is still implemented. Also, there are 12 Kirby games on the Switch? Sheesh!
Re: Talking Point: So, When Will Nintendo Announce Its Next Console?
Would not mind if the next console was announced this year late or early next year either way. They added a lot of Kirby for the Switch though. Albeit, Forgotten Land & Returns deluxe (and Triple deluxe + Planet Robobot (3ds) & 64) are the ones I can see myself replaying. Hope they do the same for the next one. But I also would not mind if they didn't add Kirby for awhile. There really is too much one can't help but feel spoiled. But I'm not complaining either XD
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For January And February 2023
Re: Soapbox: If You Thought Last Year Was "Sad" For Switch, 2023 Might Be Hard To Handle
Re: HAL Laboratory Looking Forward To Sharing Kirby's "Next Phase" With Fans
