Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 20.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

MrCarlos46

@nhSnork There was a rumor saying the Switch 2 would get themes in a later update but now I’m starting to think that rumor has been debunked. From the Switch 2 leak it still showed white and black themes but now they are actually called Basic Light Mode and Basic Dark Mode, implying Nintendo is being more straightforward to show that there won’t be more themes added.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 20.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Surprisingly this doesn’t mention a few things:

1. The Themes section has some renames. Basic White and Basic Black become Basic Light and Basic Dark, Nintendo probably realized this was something that should have been changed a long time ago or they just don’t want anymore confusing into thinking more themes will be added at some point. Either way this confirms no other themes are being added on Switch 1 and Switch 2.
2. The Nintendo Switch Online app has also been redesigned and has some Switch 2 UI sounds, also supporting dark mode now.

Re: Nintendo Today! Update Prevents Users From Recording Promotional Videos

MrCarlos46

This has already happened since the start of the month. Ever since it happened I entered the app less, only entering whenever I remember. I have noticed that even though you can no longer record footage the audio is still recorded, only a matter of time before Nintendo finds out and patches that too.

@Kyloctopus Speaking of Squid Idol drops, I’m still here waiting to see if they will add any Off the Hook choreographies from their first concert or from Tentalive 2019.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Final Tech Specs Have Been Confirmed

MrCarlos46

3 GB of RAM for the OS? That was one more than I expected, especially if it’s towards GameChat and improving eShop and web browser performance. Although could the more storage also mean we might see themes return at one point even though the chances seem pretty low?

EDIT: I’m starting to feel skeptical about whether the whole sheet is even true as I have seen people bashing Digital Foundry for releasing false information on Switch 2 specs before.

Re: PSA: You Can Stop Others Accessing Your Switch 2 With A PIN

@Andee9001 Back in the Switch 1 Nintendo made it so console region determines if we use American English (when region is set to The Americas, Hong Kong/Taiwan/South Korea or Japan) or British English (when set to Europe or Australia/New Zealand).

Now in Switch 2 it seems like we can freely choose which one of those we want to use, along with Canadian French, European French, Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese.

Re: Here's A Look At The Back Of Mario Kart World's Switch 2 Box Art

MrCarlos46

@HammerGalladeBro In any case they could just add it as a sticker somewhere of the back and leave the SMECCV rating as stickers on top of the ESRB rating.

@Don Adding what would have been interior artwork as actual inserts, that would actually be helpful if they’re not adding anymore artwork inside due to the red cases.

Nice to see the spine get some art, as well as the US box having a font for the text that resembles that of the game’s logo.

Also noticed how the US box now lists all of the supported languages instead of just saying “Contenu de jeu en français/Contenido del juego en español.” Here’s how Mario Kart World (and other Switch 2 games although their list of supported languages may vary:

GAME CONTENT IN/CONTENIDO DEL JUEGO EN: DE, EN, ES-LAT, FR-CAN, IT, JA, KO, NL, PT-BRA, RU, ZH

Actually find this method better, although for some reason they didn’t list EN-GB, ES-ES, FR-FR and PT-PT there, nor were Simplified and Traditional Chinese listed separately.

Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

MrCarlos46

@Tyranexx Now that it comes to me, looking at how US game covers are in English and Spanish and the fact that you can access the US eShop in English and Spanish, Nintendo might as well open up a Spanish version of the US site/My Nintendo Store, along with having any US retail cards in English and Spanish.

Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

MrCarlos46

@Tyranexx Not sure if this is how it would work if they went that route, but the Mexican office would basically be NoA’s main Latin American office, with the Brazilian and South American office being the sub-offices. Each handling marketing, sales and distribution of Nintendo products for their respective regions. Both South American offices respond to the Mexican office, while they all communicate to NoA.

Basically like how Nintendo of Europe’s branches and Nintendo of Canada operate, or probably more or less.

Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

MrCarlos46

@Tyranexx At least one in México, one in Brazil, and then one for the rest of South America (maybe place the South American office in Chile).

And then they all communicate with each other and Nintendo of America, like when it comes to events, new stuff and especially things to sell on the My Nintendo Store.

Re: Switch eShop Update Puts Less Focus On The Terrible 'eSlop'

MrCarlos46

@Tyranexx I also brought in Southeast Asia there because Nintendo Switch Online and the eShop are launching Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand when the Switch 2 comes out in those countries this third quarter, so I figured why not open the My Nintendo Store for those regions too, and maybe a Southeast Asian branch if they can.

Meanwhile, Latin America and Brazil also deserve a Nintendo subsidiary because even though they have more representation these days, prices in those regions are high because distribution is handled by third party distributors and not Nintendo themselves, not to mention they don’t have the My Nintendo Store either.
