Any chance Labo comes back on Switch 2?

I keep forgetting to check everyday, although I usually come in to see when they add a new Splatoon choreography.

So why don’t they just drop LATAMEL (or JVLat as it’s also called) and actually set up offices to handle Latin American/Brazilian distribution themselves, although where would Nintendo’s Latin American/Brazilian office even be?

@tobsesta99 Yeah, I did not realize I actually mistyped it as card and not code.

The sad thing about these is that once you use the code you can’t give it to someone else.

@HeadPirate Nah, I haven’t preordered one at this time. I planned on getting it sometime after launch. Thinking of working with my dad this summer to get the money for it.

Nintendo doesn’t even distribute products themselves there, it’s all by third party distributors (like LATAMEL), so they’re the ones who set the prices for Latin America and Brazil, not Nintendo.

Seems like the only way the Switch 2 will be priced lower there is if NoA actually opens a Latin American branch to handle distribution for the region (and maybe with the inclusion of the My Nintendo Store). Recently a Taiwanese subsidiary was opened, so one for Latin America and Brazil isn’t too far out of reach in the next couple years.

@HeadPirate Not counting the Japanese-only unit, the Switch 2 is priced almost the same around the world.

Nintendo probably also knew people would be scalping from other countries where it would be cheap, especially due to the price in the US. If that had been the case Nintendo probably told Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe to price it the same in every possible region (despite different currencies),

Yet in Latin America Nintendo’s distributors there choose to price it way higher than other regions.

Speaking of themes stuff, since it’s Splatoon’s 10th anniversary this year this would be the perfect chance for Nintendo make Switch 2 consoles and Joy-Cons themed around the idols.

No joke I would actually be down for an Off the Hook Switch 2 like this one concept from Twitter or maybe at the very least OTH Joy-Cons.

When the time comes to get a Switch 2, I definitely plan to get a carrying case. Maybe a microSD Express card, Switch 2 Pro Controller or charging grip.

I might consider the camera if I get the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Party Jamboree.

@HeadPirate Apart from preventing scalping and mass import in addition to making sure there are enough units in Japan, what other motives were there in making a Japanese-only Switch 2?

Game-Key cards aren’t probably the best option, not the worst either, but even there I’d also suggest a different color for their case for less confusion with full on card games. Wait, not the best idea either…

@HeadPirate Now the 50,000 yen is just towards the Japan-Only model. How many chose to go for the 70,000 yen global model is unknown, but now with an extra option Japan won’t be missing out with the Switch 2. I’m actually surprised so many are getting one at launch.

Wow, the Switch 2 has actually been highly demanded there won’t be enough for everyone. This is probably the most anticipated Nintendo console launch yet.

@Dev-N Yeah, like maybe a story extension or some new modes to Mario Wonder.

@HeadPirate In any case even if vouchers get introduced, Mario Kart World and other Switch 2 games at $80 might be excluded, so it probably won’t be a TOTK scenario this time where it was still given the voucher treatment despite costing $10 more than other Switch games.

@AussieMcBucket It’s the Japanese translation. In English they’re still called Game Vouchers.

That is way too early, but super ready at this time. Next thing we know they’ll start Christmas sales by mid September. But where are the Splatoon ornaments?

Can we just accept Big Man will win any remaining Splatfest regardless of the choice he gets?

@GinMiguel At one point I was thinking Kirby before Kirby Air Riders was announced, so I guess now I can cross Kirby out of my list of wanted characters in Mario Kart World.

More likely than not Nintendo might just leave the Chinese market altogether.

I still see people telling Nintendo to drop the price for Mario Kart World, even in the newest art piece for this year’s SpringFest. However, what if the $80 price point is already the game and DLC baked into it? For now expensive it is any DLC that gets added could already be free

Announcing DLC at full price would just anger the audience even more.

@DwaynesGames And since the Mario Kart bundle was only set to be a limited time production, that one will be more likely scalped and gone faster.

Speaking of transfers, there needs to be an animation playing while we are transferring data from Switch 1 to Switch 2.

Meanwhile it still hasn’t been confirmed if there will be more non-Mario characters added or they’re just going back to only having Mario characters.

If they’re still adding non-Mario characters I wanna see them add characters from Kirby or Metroid, maybe even the idols from Splatoon, cuz I wanna switch between playing as Yoshi and Pearl in this game.

@CStallion I’m actually surprised to see no one else bring this up before. Why hasn’t Nintendo considered adding the DLC to the Switch 2 Edition cartridge to make it the definitive version?

@WiltonRoots I love listening to the 2015 eShop Christmas music around Christmas time. I even play it around the start of November.

@Yosti @CStallion Maybe for those who already own the Switch 1 version and end up finding this and reading the text, knowing they don’t need to purchase the game again and can just get the upgrade pack.

@Yosti We might just have to wait until someone opens a copy and takes pictures or videos of it.

Kinda expected that the eShop wouldn’t have music, probably a sign UI music might also not happen again, or themes too.

One thing I still wanna see the Switch 2 eShop app however: Shopping cart and gifting features

@Yosti Someone emailed the UK My Nintendo Store about it and it appears that it will be everything in a new cartridge. They specifically asked about Tears of the Kingdom, but it could also apply for all Switch 2 Edition games.

From an email by the My Nintendo Store, Switch 2 edition games will have the base Switch 1 games and the Switch 2 upgrade in the cartridge.

I haven’t played Breath of the Wild myself but I thought the US box art is better than the European box art.

Following the high prices, Nintendo probably knew people would import the Switch 2 right from Japan where it’d be pretty darn cheap due to the weak yen, but that would leave unpurchased stock in the US and not enough units for Japan. Maybe this led to Nintendo choosing to do this cheaper Japanese-only unit for Japan and have pricing the same around the world.

@Medic_alert I think eventually Nintendo of America or Nintendo Co. Ltd. will bring up what they actually are and if it’s both versions on a new cart or just the Switch 1 cart and a download code for the Switch 2 edition.

@Fake-news I’m guessing that may be why they chose the Switch 1 cartridge + code for upgrade pack route then, also to make it easier for those with just a Switch 2 to play that version and redeem the code for the upgrade pack when they get a Switch 2.

@Kingy I mean they could also put the Switch 1 version and the Switch 2 Edition data on a new cartridge.

@Kingy Like it doesn’t mention if the upgrade pack is a download code or not, that was the confusion.

The one thing that would make it look better is if they at least make the Switch 2 logo horizontal.

@Yosti I kinda meant it would be on a Switch 2 cartridge but also contain the Switch 1 data.

@Yosti My guess is it’s a new cartridge that contains the Switch 1 version and the Switch 2 Edition in it without any extra code or sort of download and the one you play depends on where you insert it.

@PikminMarioKirby I’m not surprised it would even go out like this. Anything that involves tariffs will already lead to these types of comments.
