A possible leeway for some sort of dual screen attachment connecting to the top USB-C port allowing us to connect a Switch 1 screen as the top screen. Can allow for playing DS and 3DS games on NSO if they get added. Also an option add-on for games if you want to check your inventory at the bottom while the main gameplay is at the top.

Ok, so about $349 as far as US pricing goes (assuming Nintendo ships out Vietnam-produced units to the US), because that’s what $499 CAD in USD is.

If Nintendo sells Vietnam-produced units in the US, they’d also do it for the rest of North America as well as Latin America and Brazil as all those markets are managed by Nintendo of America, so they all get the same things despite some different regional packaging.

@Edu23XWiiU If they add DS and 3DS it’ll probably remain Switch 2 exclusive, and maybe that’s where a dual screen attachment can come in based on the top USB-C port.

@Xenoblade-Fan With the online gaming landscape changing, Nintendo knew even they would have to ditch free online play at some point. Nintendo’s a different company now than they have been before 2017, so it’s unlikely they’ll do free online play again.

Personally I’d give the service an 8 out of 10.

With Nintendo Switch Online coming to Switch 2, will Nintendo add perks exclusive to those using it on Switch 2?

No doubt the Switch will still be supported, although it won’t be as much of a huge focus as it has been up to this point. We may also see some cross-gen games for Switch and Switch 2.

If Nintendo wants to bring in more social features on Switch 2, let’s see if they can build up something new as a successor to Miiverse.

Even some of those patents show the straps, a charging stand, and what looks like a Pro Controller that can plot into two with both parts also having the mouse sensor.

@Thomystic Nintendo began winding down Russian operations in 2023, as in pulling out of the country, so the chances of Switch 2 releasing there are low.

@UltimateOtaku91 But those titles will also work on Switch 2, so what console would be people get between the two?

@RedWolf The limit will probably be 1 per order, but unfortunately scalpers might find ways around it. We’re still not sure what tricks Nintendo has up its sleeve to combat the scalpers.

@Mgalens No joke, I wanna see how Nintendo implements this with the Switch 2 and see if it will actually expand to other countries outside of Japan (like the US, Canada, EU, etc), especially to regions like Mexico.

If Nintendo’s gonna make NSO as a requirement to preorder Switch 2 in North America, they will also have to contact other US and Canadian retailers to apply similar measures.

The only problem is: scalpers can easily use bots to fake accounts and get the memberships for this.

When a new console is announced, sales for the current one usually go down. It’s time the original Switch units get a price cut of at least $50 while they’re still around. Nintendo Selects, anyone?

If they make a Nintendo Land 2 (I haven’t played the original tho) and include it as a pack-in game for Switch 2, let’s see how they implement mouse controls.

@myerscereal Apart from 3DS and New 3DS, Nintendo usually doesn’t do mid generation refreshes that actually have more power than the base model (something like PlayStation and Xbox do).

@Darkri74345 Based on an FCC ruling there was no wireless cast protocol on the dock, so it’s unlikely the C button will be for casting the Switch 2 screen over.

@Darkri74345 These days “Super” wouldn’t work as it would make the Switch 2 sound more like it’s the cancelled Switch Pro.

@drypaphmrbro But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy the normal model. It has the cartridge slot for those who love to use physical games, but if you only want to play digital games, then you don’t have to use the cartridge slot.

@drypaphmrbro Nintendo said they wanna keep releasing their games physically, so don’t expect a digital only Nintendo console anytime soon.

@anoyonmus I would actually like to see some sort of Xbox controller compatibility on Switch 2 if they want to bring Forza Horizon 5, except Xbox’s ABXY button layout will be pretty confusing if they give it full compatibility unless Xbox changes the layout in making Switch 2 compatible controllers.

@tobsesta99 Maybe something like a full red bar with the vertical Switch 2 logo like PS5, or maybe the Switch symbol on a box in one side, followed by a white tab coming out showing the Nintendo Switch 2 wordmark (and then also just the Nintendo Switch wordmark if it’s a cross-gen game).

Hopefully the spine is thicker so they can add the game’s logo on there again.

Unlikely manuals will return unless they wanted to do so. They’re probably just upping the size to make it less confusing when buying Switch 2 or Switch 1 games.

As for cartridges themselves, I don’t think they’re gonna change the physical shape this time around unlike when they added a notch for 3DS cartridges. They’re probably just gonna be the same but have more storage (64 GB or even 100 GB) and higher speeds, but I can see them do a different color like red or dark blue.

Doesn’t seem like Nintendo will add analog triggers anytime soon.

If I can get a Switch 2 and Forza Horizon actually comes to it, I might consider picking it up. Just hopefully it’s actually complete on cart without requiring any sort of download after inserting.

Possible chance of region locked Switch 2 even though other platforms don’t region lock their consoles anymore?

I’ve seen the promo art and images from the actual game and they don’t even look alike. Even one of the characters in the promo art has mismatched shoes (a white shoe and a brown shoe). These kinds of errors happen when you use AI. And the fact the main character in the promo art looks a whole lot like Mario.

@Baker1000 I’d say the tickets are automatically registered to the account and if someone else tries to use them with their Nintendo Account, they can ban them and the person who sold the tickets because the NDA said they couldn’t resell them.

Now Nintendo’s really gonna have to figure out how to prevent anything like this to happen again for future events, because then a lot of unregistered people will then find a way to enter. Nintendo’s gonna find out and then tell eBay to ban whoever is selling the tickets and cancel them (+ banning their Nintendo account if needed), and if anyone bought the tickets, refund them for buying a scam listing.

It’s only a matter of time before Nintendo finds out about these listings and takes them down. The only way Nintendo could have prevented this is if they wrote the names of the winners on the tickets, plus requiring a Nintendo Account check at entry to verify they belong to the same person.

@kalosn We may also see 720p to 1080p upscaling in handheld mode which both resolutions look pretty close.

@DwaynesGames If Nintendo actually considered writing the name of the account owner who got the tickets, there’d be less of a chance they get resold online, especially if the events require a Nintendo account at entry to verify the tickets belong to them.

Not sure when Nintendo will find out about it and how they will take action following tickets being resold online.

Pretty much shows this will be Donkey Kong’s new design going forward.

I don’t hate the new design, but I think it will grow on me over time.

@HeadPirate And even there were people worrying about what could happen because of the Switch 2 using 8nm, like less battery life unless Nintendo underclocks speeds in handheld mode, except we’re not sure what 8nm will actually do.

@HeadPirate It’s because in a Switch 2 hardware demo at Gamescon 2023, DLSS 3.5 was used.
