Anyone think a Labo VR headset will release for Switch 2?

I don’t think we’ll ever see anything like these again after they disappear

I actually originally wanted to get vouchers during the original run and when they returned but never got them

@BrazillianCara I think it’s more likely this means Nintendo is going back to just the eShop sales for discounts than them introducing any other incentive, especially when they said they would start pricing games by their value.

I know Southeast Asia also has the text, but they usually only tell you to buy the upgrade pack if you have the base game

Honestly this could’ve worked better if it was all just a free update instead of a Switch 2 Edition despite its low price

Seeing as to how the connectors won’t match with the blue and red insides, maybe Nintendo will start producing the Switch 2 with gray insides (like the Switch 2 Joy-Con charging grip) to avoid smth like this

@LazyDaisy Maybe colored shells will come once the Switch 1 has been discontinued, but who knows when that helps

@Suketoudara Didn’t they say somewhere they also wanted to further optimize the OS so it uses less RAM so they could use the extra for games?

Not sure if it will actually happen but that might make it less likely themes do come

@Suketoudara Imma guess for the other things getting themes, they were possibly made with themes as part of it unlike the Switch 2

@ShadLink That’s pretty much what it is, usually these are always just one-offs for an event, not a sign for HOME Menu themes. At the same time Imma guess Nintendo really has moved on from making HOME Menu themes

Low chance this is actually a sign on HOME Menu themes (sadly it actually won’t and the NSO app actually goes back to normal after the holidays) but that is still nice to look at tbh

@Dev-N Not gonna lie here but chances are we might not see any DLC for World at all like with Kirby Air Riders and Tears of the Kingdom, although that would probably be disappointing.

Went on way longer than expected, maybe they’re using this to start clearing out by stock on the bundle as it eventually wraps up production, also cuz we might never see it again after this year?

If the last one is true then maybe we’ll start seeing different games in their holiday bundles every year moving forward. Who knows, I would like to see Splatoon Raiders uses for next year’s holiday bundle if it comes out next year…

@rvcolem1 At the same time my statement wasn’t entirely correct. There were also versions that just came with the code. Easy way to tell is if it has a sticker mentioning Mario Kart World instead of printing it right on the box.

Great deal for newcomers, as you basically get the game for free whilst paying the same amount for a normal Switch 2. You might want to take advantage if you haven’t bought one yet, because this is likely the only time we’ll be seeing the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle (marking the end of an era of Mario Kart holiday bundles after many years), and maybe also the only time we’ll be seeing the Switch 2 go on sale.

@rvcolem1 Well it doesn’t come with a code, you just open Nintendo eShop and it will already prompt you to download it after adding an account.

Maybe eventually we’ll start seeing other regions get the My Nintendo Store in the future?

@cvrator I’d say they should add Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Thai. European Portuguese and Russian I would also like to see added in Mario Maker 3, but does Nintendo really do European Portuguese a lot these days? And also with Nintendo no longer in Russia they seem to have been translating in Russian even less these days.

So far the only one I tried with the update was Splatoon 3 and I actually like how they now go up to 1080p. While I would want there to be new Switch 2 games out there I do hope more can get free updates to look better on Switch 2 as well. I am hoping to get Mario Odyssey on Black Friday so maybe that will be the se in game I get that has a free Switch 2 update.

@SpaceboyScreams I highly doubt it at this rate. The naming on the American languages probably suggests Nintendo isn’t intending on anymore themes, and I’m pretty sure that, as well as the American languages now using Light/Dark, was what debunked the entire rumor from late April/early May.

@Suketoudara I think they will update the name in all languages to use the Light/Dark Mode moniker at some point.

@Yosher I’m guessing Nintendo actually wants the white and black themes to be treated as light/dark mode like on most other devices and not as color themes, so maybe that’s why there aren’t any other themes and why they updated the name to Basic Light/Dark Mode (at least for the American languages)…

I know I do want Donkey Kong Bananza for my birthday but at the same time I might want Super Mario Odyssey for Black Friday or Christmas.

@jon128 Splatoon 4 probably won’t be out until holiday 2029 at the latest, they’re probably finishing work on Splatoon Raiders right now and I’m pretty sure they’ll start work on the next Animal Crossing game before Splatoon 4.

Now that I see it Nintendo hasn’t actually started their holiday marketing yet, so we don’t really know what they have in store for the holidays.

I could see them make a few more Switch 1 bundles and maybe another Switch 2 bundles to get some extra sales this holiday season…

I guess Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch Online replaced it, so they see no reason to bring Virtual Console back, although it would still be nice to see them bring it back for people who want retro games but not pay for Switch Online

@dux Even with the additions of Brazil, Canada and Mexico I actually noticed that the list of countries that could participate was still pretty small.

If it points to another playtest eventually, make it available to more countries than the last one. Make it available in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, other European countries they have the eShop and Nintendo Switch Online in, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, etc.

At this point I think I just listed almost every other country Nintendo has the eShop and Nintendo Switch Online apart from the ones that were able to participate in the last playtest.

Actually now that it comes to me, since Nintendo is no longer doing business with Russia, why don’t they go ahead and start establishing official presence in some of the other Russian-speaking territories and set Russian-language social media accounts and eShops for them? Also allows them to continue translating all future games in Russian for those other regions.

With the openings of new subsidiaries this year it actually seems inevitable Nintendo of America soon opens offices for Latin America and Brazil pretty soon (this could actually eventually also bring then the My Nintendo Store or some sort of online store for the region), especially if they’re rampant on opening new offices in many of their current locations.

@Aeralto Nintendo shut down their Russian subsidiary in 2023, of course they no longer do business with Russia, presumably the only reason they keep translating in Russian is because there are other Russian-speaking communities outside of Russia they can cater those translations to even without official presence in this regions. Apparently Belarus has been sanctioned as well.

@xmkbest Russian was my first guess as a result of the war and Nintendo leaving Russia, but then again I kinda wrote above this part of my comment on why they keep translating in Russian despite no longer doing business with Russia. If they wanted they would’ve stopped translating their games in Russian altogether after they left.

@xmkbest Even if it is true I’m guessing it’s only gonna be for the Switch 2, and if adding Polish also means they have to stop translating in another language, it’s probably gonna be Russian that gets affected.

Will existing titles be updated to add Polish if it is true?
