I'd suggest Mother 3 and Thracia 776 will make their way over to the west, bot sure I see much else coming, perhaps the Wars games courtesy of the NES and SNES subscription services perhaps.

I haven't backed yet but I'm going to. I was really hoping for a a tier with the comic and art book without the extra tat, but doesn't look like it's coming so I will just go physical game and that's it.

North American one is awful, I don't mind either the JP or EU ones but I think the EU one gives the greater sense of a football stadium soI'm going with that

Soul Calibur 2 sold best on Gamecube as far as I remember, its surprising to me that they have ignored Nintendo for all following iterations of the game.

However it probably isn't as clear as that, certainly for Bayonetta 1 it probably is, but 2 and 3 will be a different story as per whatever contract Nintendo worked out with Sega. While Sega own the IP it doesn't mean they fully own the games. We also don't know if there's a time limit on the Nintendo exclusivity and if Nintendo take a cut of any future releases past a certain point in time.

Nice article, I know its a Nintendo site but I'd like to see the same for Sega games, as a Sega kid most of my collection from my younger years is Master System to Dreamcast.

Yes given the guys track record I think he's working a platformer which is most likely Donkey Kong related unless there's a 2d style Metroid in the works too which could equally be feasible.

Its crazy to think that for such a well renowned studio Retro's output is very limited.

5 original games, 1 compilation and 2 re-releases in 20 odd years of existence, on average that's one new game every 4 years with a side project every 5-7 years.

I'd really like to see Nintendo place a big focus on these guys going forwards into the next decade as it looking like their heyday was 2000 to 2010

Hard to complain about getting 10 free games, although I feel like Mana Spark should have been the final 'secret' game, ended with a bit of a damp squib.

I think for me the only games I'd be really interested in seeing get ported over would be Shenmue collection, Kingdom Hearts, Borderlands and Red Dead Redemption.

I don't know how likely any of those are but I'd very interested to see them.

Europe is ruled out because of the bar at the bottom. Toss up between Japan and USA, I think I prefer the Japanese background but not a lot in it really.

The justification for this seems perfectly fair, I think if this is an issue for a small group of gamers they would likely be better off choosing another system for these multi-plat games as I imagine these are the same category of gamer who would be complaining about the Doom, Witcher and Wolfenstein ports for instance. The Switch is clearly not the optimal platform for these games and its a small miracle that they are even able to run at all let alone at the quality that they do.

I have no idea how that many people have voted for the North American one, it's easily the worst of the three even though the three really aren't that great. I went Japan but it was a toss up between that and Europe, much of a muchness, but I liked the comic book effect of the Japanese one.

Might have been an idea to stick North America in the title, got hopes up there.

It would also be nice to see nes and snes remix get added to the switch online service.

After that Skyward Sword stands out to me as a game that could work again due to the switch controllers. In fact I'd be surprised if it wasn't in development already.

FZero GX (or AX) would be excellent if we aren't going to get a proper one and finally HD versions of the Mario Galaxy games in a double pack would be really good.

Maybe they could have made a 3ds micro to squeeze any last remaining pennies from people, I'd probably buy one lol

Good figures, but it would be more interesting to know the sales figures for those consoles and ps4 and xb1 at this stage in their lifetimes.

At the same 30 month stage PS4 had sold 40m and XB1 had sold around 23m, so Switch is keeping pace with PS4 sales and is well ahead of XB1. Nintendo just need to keep up the momentum, there appears to be a good slate of games coming in the next 12 months, it'll be interesting to see where we go after that, which should only be half way into the consoles lifecycle.

I wonder if we'll ever get to see what the original design for this would have looked like?

This dissapoints me, Aeternoblade was a rare example of a poor game that I really wanted to like. I like the genre and the theme and that's about where it ends. I was hoping they would identify the issues with the first one and improve on them, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but a solid 7/10 would have probably got a sale from me.

As it stands I may still pick it up but it'll be when its in the bargain bin for a few pounds.

Have the number of ads on here gone up?

Within that one article I counted 7 ads before the usual end of article ones, of those 7, 3 were shown twice.

I know ads are a necessary evil but it was quite offputting

It's always worth pointing out the outrageous lack of morals from the rag, it disappoints me that it still sells as well as it does. Given their history of disgusting smear campaigns, I'm amazed that anyone buys it all.

I haven't purchased and won't purchase this until the updates are out there and we have confirmation that they have made a significant impact on the performance.

On release Devil May Cry 2 averaged around a 7 out of 10, now it may not have aged terribly well but the core of the game is still the same. A 4 out of 10 does seem quite low when you look at the games that puts it alongside on this website.

The new Contra game, Troll and I, Professional Farmer? It might be a personal opinion but there has to be some parity, I could dig out my PS2 version of DMC2 and it would still be better than those, so unless the game has somehow gotten worse from being ported to Switch (the review makes little mention of this beyond it being what appears to be a decent port) I fail to see how it can be so low.

I think the change actually makes the comment more questionable because it loses some of the context. I don't understand the point of this one.

Folders for me, or a way to separate downloaded games/content from physical game icons, or even easier a way to just remove the game icons for physical games (unless that's already possible and I just haven't noticed it yet.

I feel like it would be hard to better the 3ds version of this, it's as if it was made with the 3ds in mind, so for me I think that's the ultimate version and renders this release pointless in my case.

This continual referencing to the quality of future products is becoming quite tiresome. Its as if theres some sort of axe to grind.

There's absolutely no evidence as of yet it will have any bearing on future products. To the best of my knowledge any issues with one nintendo console have never really carried on into the next or into any future revisions, they are usually isolated issues, so the track record would suggest there's nothing to be concerned about.

They will announce something significant in the next 2 months as subscriber renewals will start.

My guess would be snes games or a big freebie, who knows maybe a nintendo themed battle royale game?

@PCkid in a world of day one updates its right up until release date (and beyond but that would be unusual for a Nintendo published game). I have the original as well, however I dont know if I prefer it because I haven't played this new one yet, time will tell.

@PCkid it might have performance issues but its a demo of a game that is still 3 months out from release. You would usually expect the refinements to be happening in this period and with feedback from playtests, I'm sure it will be fine when it launches.

I've no idea why some people comment on these stories, with 'slow news day' or 'x reported this last week' or 'isn't this obvious' etc.

@Smigit perhaps they don't align perfectly, it doesn't mean it isn't a nod to it though, for a game that was still in development at the time who knows what ideas make it into games that never get discovered or get discovered a long time after
