Re: The Latest Miiverse Update Has Users In An Uproar

Monsti

This makes Miiverse completely irrelvant for me. There have been less and less people posting anyway but some a very active with pictures and entertaining posts....and now I won't see those because I don't check 3 times a day? Pointless. Maaaaan, what the hell are you doing Nintendo???

Re: Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush Fails to Break Top 20 in UK Charts

Monsti

@akaDv8R In my group of friends noone does. Most of the Nintendo fans I know are pretty conservative when it comes to video games and completely ignore digital releases. In my Streetpass Group (and that's like 15 people with a Wii U) hardly anyone has touched Shovel Knight because it's download only.

Also I just think people don't like the game concept. Look at my Avatar! I love the DS one but I don't understand why I'm supposed to buy a Wii U game with awesome graphics that I then CANNOT play on my TV...

P&D is disappointing. I dig the game. But here I'm supposed to pay for a free2play game????" is what I heard everywhere. :/

Re: Poll: Did The Splatoon Global Testfire Hit Its Targets?

Monsti

Had a blast with this and only one connection error in 3 hours playtime. I'm also glad it was only 3 hours I don't wanna be burned out before the game is released. They have to make some things clearer in the actual game: Took me a while to find out I can switch off the annoying motion controls and I just found out after the demo that WALLS DON'T COUNT...that wasn't clear imo.

Re: Reminder: The First Splatoon Global Testfire Details Are Out

Monsti

Played the whole hour. This was the most fun I ever had playing a game online. Sooo much fun. So much deeper concerning tactics than I thought.
Had no hickups. When I switched weapons I had to sometimes try 2 times because the lobbies were full...that's all.
Also: Sooooooo glad they let me switch motion off and change the sensitivity!
Great experience.

Re: Poll: Is Splatoon a Blockbuster That'll Help Revive the Wii U?

Monsti

@Wolfgabe The thing is: No, you don't really need it to coordinate and no hardly anyone really uses it for that. But you wanna chat with your friends. Nintendo is soooo big on local multiplayer and always emphasis how much more fun it is. The reason it's more fun is you can talk to your friends while playing. It's a communal experience and you're having fun together. No voice chat in the game kills that a bit. And please don't start with skype. In reality you won't get 4 people to start skyping while they are playing online.

Re: NES-Style Adventure Alwa’s Awakening Could Be Casting Its Spell On The Wii U

Monsti

@rdrunner1178 Especially for a game like this the install base maters. They probably already have problems breaking even and a small install base makes it worse. We don't get some of the WiiU indie games in Germany cause the developers can't effort paying the German ratings board (USK). This is a problem for them.
And the Xone generally has more people buying those kind of games...it's just how it is. It sucks, but it's true.

Re: Nintendo Begins Takedown Proceedings on Super Mario 64 HD Fan Project

Monsti

@VeeFlamesNL Well if it doesn't hurt them then why act on that copyright. Thousands of Star Wars Fans are breaking the copyright every year by making fanfilm. You know what Lucasfims/Disney does: A competition with a price for the winner.
Again: Just because it's protected doesn't mean you have to act on that every single time.

Re: Nintendo Begins Takedown Proceedings on Super Mario 64 HD Fan Project

Monsti

@VeeFlamesNL because you do not have to act on a law just because it exists. This doesn't hurt Nintendo a bit. Everyone who downloads this has the game anyway. Noone will not buy cause of this demo. It's just stupid. That's all it is. And Nintendo Fanboys and Fangirls are growing out of touch with their favorite company together.

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U No Longer Set for 2015 Release

Monsti

It's so sad to see my favorite company slowly destroying itself every single day recently. It's nice people say "I don't care if the game is good", but your will care if the WiiU support dies and that after such a short life...unless of course you have infinite money....
It's the last nail in the coffin of this console, to say anything else is naive. After this holiday season noone who doesn't have the console yet will care anymore...they are already talking about the next thing they are doing.
Games being delayed is normal. But if you have to consoles with so little games coming out and it being the last hope to keep it alive...it's a big problem.

Re: Nintendo NX Will Be About Creating "Fun New Ways To Play"

Monsti

Like always: As long as "fun new ways" does not equal "gimmicky" I'm all for it. The stick on the N64...fun and new...and important for the industry. Streetpass. Fun and new and not mandatory. Wagglewaggle and forced second screen integration...not so. I hope they finally understand that.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Heading For a Period of Major Change, and We Can't Fight It

Monsti

Nintendo is the slowest multimedia company I know. They are VERY slow! They've been playing half-hearted catch-up for the last 5 years and they are still faaaaar behind. Do you really think entering the most short-lived sector of multimedia is a good move for them. Once they get a foot in dverybody will have long moved on to the next thing.
We are talking about the company who still can't get online play right! Why is everybody ignoring this??
I want change for Nintendo. I want a lot of change. But this is not the change the company needs.
I assume they want to stretch out into a million different sectors right now because they see that they are losing in the console sector. But the outcome won't be that they find another, better sector. It will be that they lose more. Noone in the mobile space cares about their brand. Noone cares about lasting products or quality. It's fast-food culture and they will be eaten up and spit out.

Re: DeNA Dreaming of 100 Million Daily Users on Future Nintendo Mobile Downloads

Monsti

@XCWarrior And then they have the same problems that other companies are starting to have. That their branding doesn't mean anything anymore and people stop caring.
I don't think the standard phone-gaming audience is the Nintendo audience anyway.
The stocks jumping 21% is so typical for all this. Short lived hype. Then the first game flops and it falls 40%.
